The major downside to a digital watch is the visible light it gives off, this can give away your position and cause you grief.
Digital watches are disposable in many cases making them simpler to replace when compared to an Analog.
Analog have their own issues, complexity and noise that digital don't.
Your Nixi watch is somewhere inbetween this it's got hard to obtain parts like your tubes that are very fragile depending on what type of tube you use.. tubes from early vacuum have a shorter lifespan and fragile glass while late stage are stronger and have a high life span.
I wouldn't recommend it, unless your able to source parts for it without costing you an arm and a leg.
It would be worse. You want to be able to see the time to the second, and adjust it easily. Ideally you'll be able to swap back and forth from Local to Zulu time too. Just get a $50 timex and use your money on something that will actually be useful. You don't get better time from a fancier watch. The time is the time, regardless of what exotic timepeice you read it off of.

Digital watches without backlights exist. Mine has non-backlight as standard, and has a button you press to make it glow for a moment.

are there any watches with a similar configuration to the tenet watches (pic related)? i nailed down the specific brand they used but apparently the red/blue digital displays were custom-made for the movie. any alternatives?
This is what I wear most of the time. Breitling has a few analog-digital models, including the Breitling Emergency which is massive and even has a built in transmitter for SAR purposes.
You also have the Omega Speedmaster Skywalker X-33, which is a serious watch and specifically designed for pilots and astronauts. You can find them for around $4,000 USD
Yeah
Any reason why it's better over an analog watch?
Don't know, sorry. Maybe try asking someone else? I'm pretty new to this forum, not sure why this question would be directed to me?
