its called lactic acid.
I worked out for the first time in months and ive been sore for 5 days. I did legs today. Prob will be the same. Stretch, check your mineral intake, some people like foam rollers, epsom salt baths, ect.
This is probably it. Epsom salts is magnesium absorbed through the skin which is the healing effect. I take Magnesium Citrate.
Also >Increased lactate buildup goes hand-in-hand with a drop in cell pH that occurs as a result of the hydrogen ion separating from lactic acid. This hydrogen ion is responsible for the muscle burn we often feel.
Bodybuilders and even weightlifters have no business getting into a fight.
Martial arts are nothing like a street fight.
Who are good fighters?
Killers. Combat soldiers. Police. Firefighters. Manual laborers like boilermakers, block layers, mechanics, movers, farmers, butchers, hospital orderlies, paramedics.
That's just getting old. When I was 19 I'd do heavy squats 3x/week. By my 30s that dropped to every 5-6 days.
Don't listen to this guy. We had a lot of manual labor and military guys come to my MMA gym and that shit doesn't translate to fighting at all. The two toughest untrained dudes I dealt with were a college football running back and a state record holding powerlifter.
He's speaking with an American.
On average, you should drink half your bodyweight in fluid ounces per day for optimal hydration, thus sayeth the US military.
For 220lbs (100kg), that's 110floz. 128floz is an American gallon.
At 440lbs, which is a good American middleweight, half the bodyweight in floz is 220. That's a third off of 2 American gallons.
But this is an American on PrepHole talking with OP. OP may well be 660lbs.
330floz is 2,5 American gallons and roughly 9,7 litres.
Every. Single. Day.
I stoped lifting to focus on Muay Thai for a couple months, now I am hesitant to start lifting again because I know I will have sore legs for a couple weeks like OP which will effect my kicks.
That happens the first time you train muscles in awhile, "delayed onset muscle soreness" DOMS
Start training legs 2-3 times a week and it goes away, even when you up the weight
You need 4 things. Amino acids, the building blocks of muscle found in greens. Protein best gotten from fish or chicken, and carbs from potatoes and pasta. Best to eat those in the morning for breakfast so you burn them off and use them as fuel. And lastly and most importantly vitamin C from limes REAL limes not pills or juice but real fucking limes that you squeeze into a jug of water that you drink DAILY. and that my fren mixed with a good upper body workout and a bike will make you younger and stronger. For best results do this in the mountains at 4k ft for 3 years and get your cardio vascular system working. This will turn you into a super hero. May the Force be with you.

Too add to this, and this is just optional, but for insane boners, a glass of pomegranate juice every night before bed.
Don't neglect cardio.
Rucking is good to do cause it builds strength too and its practical for war
.
Yes, I hate running, rucking is much more enjoyable. I even got a path through rolling hills, sometimes if I’m feeling bold I’ll sprint up the hills.
