Windham Weaponry

Anyone own one? How are they? I know they are old Bushmaster, did they retain their quality?

AFAIK, yes they're kind of slept on. Bushmaster took the name but left the talent who formed WW. Everything I've heard is that they're pretty good middle-of-the-road rifles, good value for price. Not a bad option for a first or pre-build AR.

Caveat: I don't own one but I've looked into them before and all reviews are generally positive. If I ever get around to acting on an impulse to buy a .308 AR, it'll probably be one of theirs.

have a couple and was first rifle. like everyone else it was a 16” carbine. I love it to this day and it has served me well.

      This.
      >.308
its tough to find anything on their .308s but my friend has one and it functions great. if I got ar10/308 its probably windham.

      >they are old Bushmaster, did they retain their quality?
yes but bushmaster wasnt that good to begin with. it was good enough.

back in the day pre 2012 i would say there really was no differentiation between ARs. the market is totally different from back then where everyone was basically making the same shit because they were all getting it from the same source. everyone had 16” carbines and no one knew what free float was lol

Bushmaster before being bought out was fine quality wise. They had to deal with the whole AWB so a lot of their rifles looked like ass. They were the defacto measuring stick in their era since Colt was the top dog and Bushmaster was good enough.

      >Colt was the top dog and Bushmaster was good enough.
      exactly
bushmaster was always inferior to colt.
cheaper but plenty of current ar brands are cheaper than colt and windham.
its still good enough but its not the only cheap good enough option.

bushmaster was attainable because colt were either too expensive or too focused on military contracts to care about civilian market.

    They’re poorfag cope shit
    t. /arg/

If you want a good cheap rifle buy an FN Patrol. If you absolutely have to have cheaper, DSA. If you want a nice rifle, buy DD (except for recent gas ports looking like nikocados coinslot) HK, noveske, higher end FN, Robinson arms XCR, or LWRCi. BCM are tolerable but they support blm and just got raided for employing illegals. Avoid geissele and KAC, they’ve been compromised. Mostly, just buy an FN.

I own their 20" varmint exterminator upper, and the build quality is pretty good.Sturdy and heavy as shit, but I don't mind that. Pretty good accuracy with m193, but I imagine I could get better accuracy with better bullets or if I tried more. I usually just hit steel, and squirrel season hasn't started yet. I've been thinking about buying their superlight upper receiver, but I don't like back ordering anything. I recently bought an old bushmaster upper so I'm excited to try that out.

I have a Windham barrel in my franken AR. Shoots good, no complaints. I haven't run it hard, so I can't speak to whether or not it's "dUtY gRaDe". But for a range gun/gun you'll run maybe 20-30 rounds through tops if you need to get some hooligans off your property, pretty good.

I've owned a complete carbine and currently have a 20" upper from them. Good shit. Works well, shoots well, good fit/finish. I highly recommend them as a solid mid tier brand and feel that they are very underrated.

Windhams are great rifles. I have one and have never had an issue despite shooting more rounds than I could count.

Got one of their BCG because they were the only one I stock on the great AR parts drought in 2012 following sandy hook. Still works just fine

My first ever AR i owned.
    Love it till this day.
Shot thousands of rounds through it. Love it.
Only downside is that i bought the "16" M4 stile" model with a carbine length gasport. That sucks. But i still love it. Not as good CQ as on my BCM 11,5" but still good though.

I love their rifles. Idk why they get such a bad rep but that’s mostly by the retarded trannies in /arg/ because they’re coping with spending $5k+ on one rifle despite being a broke retard.

My first rifle (and only full rifle that I bought) was the 16” carbine gas and it performed amazing and shot everything I fed through it without issue. I liked it so much I got the 20” govt upper and that performed flawlessly too. They’re just great milspec guns that are reasonably priced.
