PZL M-15 also know as Belphegor, an absolute proof that polish engineering is too powerful to exist, an absolute beast that curses the existence itself with its presence, an ugliest and the most horrible thing to ever fly on this planet, a thing that forced both devil and God to work together to stop it from getting developed, the only existing jet powered biplane and a crop duster, that could also carry chemical weapons instead of fertilizer in its two big cargo bays, a living crime against nature, physics, sanity, and humanity, a flying definition of a war crime, also a reason to visit Kraków aviation museum
>politburo decides jets are the future >demands an An-2 replacement with a jet engine, regardless of whether it's a good idea >forced to make a monstrosity or go to gulag
that's basically it

>politician: we want a jet >engineer: no you want something that can efficiently dust crops >politician: no it has to be a jet >engineer: ok
The reason that we don't see many biplanes anymore has to do mostly with drag. You get more wing area giving you more control, but you also get a shorter effective aspect ratio. Biplanes were necessary when it was difficult or impossible to make strong monowings, bracing 2 with a gap was the solution. Now they only should up on acrobatic planes, cheap farm planes, some bush planes, etc. There will never be a modern biplane fighter or big gun battleship because there is no need to go back to that tech or way of fighting.
I do wonder if supermaneuverability had been the killer app of 5th gens rather than stealth if we would've seen bi-planes make a return as an alternative to thrust vectoring.
They never really went away. They're favored for air show acrobatics because of their low speed maneuverability. You can get a lot more of the action where people can see it
It's about being loading, which is why they're still used in acrobatic flight

I don't think so, even if the northern hemisphere and ANZAC nuked themselves into oblivion there would still be huebraer, although they will have problems getting high quality replacement pieces currently produced only in the West.

what the fuck is that

can't they just use an-2 lime normal comblock?

Honestly it kind of makes sense since it seperates out the potentially really volotile materials away from the cockpit
I think it's neat
>Jet-powered biplane for chemical warfare
I can only get so erect.
>the absolute peak of polish engineering
>it's a jet biplane made from toilets
the fucking memes are real
jesus christ how horrifying
>more weight
>more failure points
>optimal lift is something we've figured for nearly a century
Nah
lancet is a biplane
also this
Lancet is a cruciform finned loitering munition, it is neither bi nor plane any more than the SM-2 is a biplane
>it is neither bi nor plane
How do you know it's sexual identity?
I'm bi we just know, it's like gaydar with IFF
Femplane gayplanes when?
Air search gaydar
It's not loitering munition because it doesn't have the capacity to loiter. It's an FPV guided missile.

And not a very good one

no?
extra parts weigh negative

Yes, after a civilizational collapse and we have to re-discover all of the lost technology

Maybe, if you count picrel.
That's a truss, not a wing. Whether it generates lift or not doesn't factor into that at all.
> being reductive
let people enjoy things sweatie
Just realized I was in the wrong thread, sorry for the weird planes and mustache man
>15x 7.62mm minigun pods
for what purpose?
>visiting PrepHole
>don't understand concept of more daka
Are you sure you are on the image board that you planed to visit?
Why isn't this a biplane? It's got so many wings
> there are no more buy-planes
> finally planes are free
checkmate boeing
I could see bi plane drones becoming a thing
Already did. Boeing's new airliner has two sets of wings.
is that a spare f22 nose
it's probably one of those radar system testsbeds
Hey he graduated
