Why would anyone go here?

This has to be the worst place in North America. Everyone should avoid it like the hellhole that it is.

That said, if someone were to go here for a week, what would they do?
There can't be anything worthwhile.
I heard Detroit is far more interesting.

If I were to go there I would never go during peak fall colors like I did two years ago. That would be terrible.

Was born and grew up in that strip.

It's very pretty at times, but there is no real work.
Most of the properties are owned by wealthy people with no interest in the area other than one or two months in the summer.
Cost of living is stupid high.

I am set to inherit a 1840's home on East Grand Traverse bay. I intend to sell the property as I cannot afford to live there.

You could rent it out. There's a lot of people who will pay stupid amounts of money to LARP as outdoorsmen for a season

I would rather rent it. Good to keep a property like that. Just because you're a poorgay now doesn't mean you always will be. No darkies though. Nothing browner than a Frenchman. It might get neglected with a whitey. But it'll be less likely to be trashed.

Is there anything to do in Traverse worthwhile for a vacationer PrepHole type?
I'll buy it for $5k, final offer.

I've heard the Sleeping Bear Dunes suck really bad and nobody should visit them. Very bad idea, you might fall into quicksand.

Yes, these freshwater sand dunes are hundreds of feet high and not unique and not interesting. Practically every lake on earth has these. Avoid.

There's way too many people who visit in the summer (and everywhere else in general), we seriously need to create a border at the rifle line

Too late. Think I'll build a summer house for the senpai, invite friends over each year. Complain about all the guns and local culture I look down my nose at while posting on the gram funny pics of me "slumming it" with the hicks that I never actually talk to, except the women that I bang on Tinder, who I then joke about being "Northern Michigan 10s", the joke being that the standards are much lower.

Northern MI was built to be an affluent summer suburb of Chicago. Make way for my Tesla.

Which is the best non-Great lake here?
    Charlevoix gets my vote.
The lakes NE of Petoskey seem to be pretty lame. Land's too flat or something.
Everyone should check out Charlevoix, but Petsokey's just lame yuppies, don't go there.

I prefer Hubbard Lake and the lakes towards the ways side tbh. Way too much traffic in the pinky

        Is it that bad?
I was planning on car camping in Pere Marquette forest, is it just going to be mobbed, or is everyone in bnbs?

Just generally speaking there are more lakes and rivers and cottages and Traverse City and Mackinaw is a bigger tourist destination and Lake Michigan in general. If you go to one of the lakes or cottages or Huron you can get off at US-23 or take up 65 and avoid of the I75 traffic, especially on Holiday weeekends it is the worst (4th of July, Labor, Memorial). Just generally speaking theres less people on the Sunrise Side if that is what you're looking for. If you want a winery and the sand dunes head to the west side of the LP. If you're going car camping in Pere Marquette you'll be fine.

            >Sunrise Side
            Been there. I think there's a reason it's empty.
I like nature, with lakes, hills, forests.
Sunrise has 1 of the 3, outside Huron and the 2-3 impoverished ports that are more depressing than charming.

Detroit doesn’t have food really. At least during breakfast or lunch time. No one to work (pic rel) . There are some restaurants that open up at night.

      I’m not joking

I have to go down for work 2x a month. We only eat at my company cafeteria or brown bag it.

        >Detroit
The suburbs. Nobody goes to Detroit except to explore abandoned ruins and buy crack. Apparently there are some corporate HQs in the sad center.
The suburbs have typical suburban-tier food scenes. Good Med/Arab stuff obviously.
