lower altitude combat , pilots who were used to using twin engined planes, and much larger battlespace made its larger internal fuel tank more decisive
Any typo requires someone who wouldn't know an apostraphe if it face fucked them to reply with "ESL". Hideo Kojima or whoever runs PrepHole now said so, I think.
Learn to ask a fucking question in English, holy shit. The question word always comes first, then the auxiliary verb like should, could must have etc or a form of "to be". If you ask a question with a full verb you need the auxiliary verb "do/does". Those always come in first place unless the sentence begins with a question word.
I once got to talk to a genuine old geezer P-38 pilot in Second Life, he said when the tanks emptied they had to shoot off half of the .50 cal ammunition to maintain the center of gravity so the plane could stay halfway balanced fro landing.
The action happened at a lower altitude and in the tropics so the cockpit didn't get cold like it did in Europe. In more conventional planes, the heat from the engine would blow back towards the pilot keeping the cockpit (somewhat) warm.
Over balkans in 1944.
Burgers were strafing kraut convoys from the air, while soviets were pushing krauts on land.
There was supposed to be some form of communication between the siodes to avoid this shit, but someone fucked up.
Russkie column moved very deep into territory that by data burgers had, was supposed to be still controlled by krauts .
Flight of P-38s saw column of vehicles moving in krautland, so they strafed them thinking they are germans, doing lots of damage (and killing a russkie general)
Russians fired back, doing some damage with their flak, and frantically called for help.
Russian aviation scrambled a squadron of Yak-9s to intercept .
Yaks jumped P-38s, and shot two down before burgers realized whats happening.
Then P-38 disengaged from strafing runs and turned their guns on Yaks. They shot down four soviet fighter in quick succession, and then both sides realized >oh shit these are not german planes , we are shooting at allies
Bothj sides waved at each other and disengaged , returning to base and trying tho pretend this massive fuckup never happened.
In the end dogfight ended with 4 yaks and 2 p-38 shot down in aerial combat. (and some p-38s shot by flak) .
The two P-38s were lost, because they were busy strafing ground targets and were surprised (not an excuse, mind you, - in air combat if enemy gets a drop on you, thats your own damn fault for being a fool) . But when burgers switchd to air to air, they pretty much dominated the russians, suffering no further loses and shooting down four of them.
japanese pilots and planes were worse.
also the p-38 was more suited to the pacific since it's better to have 2 engines when flying long distances over large bodies of water since you can go back to base with only one engine
Germans could recognize the P-38 as enemy from farther away. That’s most of it.
Germans could also dive away from early P-38s. This did not fit US plans to eliminate the Luftwaffe, so -47s handled Europe and -38s took WestPac.
It was successful in both areas.
If I remember correctly, more were in the Pacific due to the long ranges.
P-61 Black Widow does not get enough credit. It was so far ahead of its time that the USAF destroyed almost all of those
I want to have gross, smelly, animalistic sex with a night fighter. I want to do unspeakable acts to a BF-110G and/or a Black Widow. I don't care if their radars will cook me alive, in fact that only males it better
Turbochargers plus being able to dunk on carrier aircraft.

>yet another slide thread by this ESL moron
What's he trying to slide? Genuinely curious

because the 109 was faster and the zero was slower
The 109 was not faster than the P-38.
a 109 doing 300km/h will clearly outrun a P38 flying at 250.
Source on those numbers?
it was revealed to me in a dream
Low altitude
>WHY WAS THE P-38 MORE SUCCESSFUL

Imagine giving this much of a shit about grammar on the fucking internet. Fuck, dude, you need to get laid.

It did good against yaks 🙂

Fuck off back to /b/ or 4chan

Second engine good over the water
obsessed
True. And you'll never be a man.
Now, back to weapons

It's built as an interceptor, no german bombers to intercept. Also they withdrew it from europe just as it was getting upgraded/kinks worked out.
dumb bot gb2 your containment board
>your containment board
That's rich coming from a bunkerchud.
Wish I had a bunker. Do you think they get bad damp or are the walls built so thick it doesn't matter?
It was successful in both areas.

Idk why but twin boom fighters with spoilers make my pp hard.
