What's up with 90s and forests? Stargate, Command &Conquer, Jagged Alliance 2...

The US military used to be in a lot of wars involving jungles and/or forests:
Now it's just wars in the fricking deserts!
Quite honestly, a war in Venezuela would be a nice change of things.

We didn't know that the Gulf War was going to be the rule going forward, rather than the exception.

A lot of people in the 80s and early 90s thought there would be a communist revolution in a major LATAM country because of what was happening in Central America. You have to remember America hadn’t been involved in a major conflict since Vietnam so people were running out of relevant material for war media. Since the USSR collapsed and the gulf war happened it’s been nothing but sandshit.

Probably love for Yugoslavian war landscape since that war was still ongoing at the time. Ukraine's land is either Asian steppe or Baltic tundra nothing inbetween while Iraq Libya Afghanistan Israel are all African desert wastelands

It's been almost 2 decades imagine if there was an Empire Earth 4 we had many World of Warcraft games since then alongside Halo Warhammer Diablo Tekken Call of Duty God of War Final Fantasy and Pokemon games imagine if the franchise was revived just as with Age of Empires Serious Sam Command & Conquer Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and Doom video games

That's the reason why Far Cry 3 is much better than any other shooter either Overwatch Call of Duty or Halo

For all of the problems I have with the Axis of Time series the picture it paints of what the US military looked like in 2021 is a little bit kino (a little bit):
    >Army uses Commanche attack helicopters
    >Abrams upgraded with a hydrogen fuel cell as an APU, 360 degree panoramic display for the commander, and a CROWS with some combination of 30mm Bushmaster, 40mm AGL, or M134
    >Also issued Beehive anti-personnel rounds, thermobarics, flame gel capsules (fancy napalm), and what is essentially a 120mm DPICM round
    >No sign of Bradley because the Marines have to be amphibious and the Aussies are poor, but both use an LAV with a 50mm chain gun and pod of six Hellfires able to be called in by the dismounts or the vehicle commander on whatever is las'd
    >All of the Navy's ships use fusion reactors
    >Cruisers have railguns
    >The carriers are big enough to launch and land a modified F-22 Raptor and a C-130 transporter
    >Point Defense is done by Metal Storm pods (pretty cringe) and laser pods (pretty cool) as well as the usual assortment of missiles
    >Main land/sea attack missile is powered by a small fusion reactor that superheats then shits out 120 tungsten slugs at hypersonic speeds before kamikazeing into a final target and overloading it's reactor for a small nuclear explosion
    >Also it can independently take in targeting data from it's own sensors and from other drones, so you can just assign it a target area and it will independently launch submunitions at targets until it's time for it's Eternal Flight
    >Still use Harriers for some reason
    >Drones out the bumhole
    >SAW is now a 20mm autocannon

Just about all I can think of, although in Operation Sea Dragon both the Luftwaffe and RAF send in fighters armed with primitive radar guided air to air missiles, and the idea of a Hurricane and a BF 109 having a missile duel just makes me smile

wasn't retired, it was a prototype that wasn't deemed worth the cost, instead a lot of the tech it pioneered was used in other projects like the StealthHawk

Helicopters are Ork technology while Drones are better since they're Tau technology anyone who's played Call of Duty Black Ops 2 knows drones are better than helicopters

Helicopters and drones work great together. Drones provide the recon, surveillance and targetting, helicopters fly in with the very heavy guided munitions and use better situational awareness to coordinate the drones and engage.

    >Helicopters and drones work great together.
Yeah but not Tau drones like the ones adopted by Earthlings Ork drones are squigs they're kamikaze drones like the ones constructed by Iran and sold to other countries like Russia but humies aren't tough like Orks in order to handle squigs therefore they're trying to be like Tau remember Warhammer 40K humans aren't Earthlings they're mutated by the warp and include many Psykers among their ranks it's not just the Space Marines who're literal demigods

      >7 billion dollars over 20 years
that's such a tiny drop in the Army's budget that is literally a wowitsfrickingnothing.jpeg especially since the tech developed for it lead directly to other projects that were adopted
