Youre wrong and don't know what you're talking about. Steel case shit tier FMJ ammo isn't the only stuff in existence. Even if it was you'd still be wrong.

But it's still inferior compared to 7.62x39mm.
Both 5.45 and 5.56 lose are lot more muzzle velocity on short barrels than 7.62.
5.45 and 5.56 rely on speed to be efective, whereas 7.62 is more reliant on mass.
>Both 5.45 and 5.56 lose are lot more muzzle velocity on short barrels than 7.62.
Oh no, they lose 100 fps going from a 20 inch to a 16 inch barrel while based 7.62x39 only loses 60 fps going from a 20 inch to a 16 inch barrel. This must surely mean 7.62x39 is more effective out of short barrels.
7.62x39 isnt very effective out of 16".
Its pretty shit and just plows a hole through. No tumbling, no fragmentation, just a small clean wound channel.
5.45 makes a fricking mess out of my krink.
5.56 with 77 grains might be OK, but I havent shot anything with it yet out of my 8" gun.
Lets see what Russia does. They did 5.45 out of a standardized 7" barrel platform (yes, I know it's not the most common configuration). Did Russia ever have a standardized platform with a barrel that short for 7.62x39?
>The demand is there.
Are you sure about that? How many people want a 5.45 AK and don't mind having a US made piece of crap "pistol" instead of something actually collectible? Of the people who don't mind having a US made piece of crap, how many of them specifically want 5.45 which is difficult to find instead of much more common 5.56 or 7.62x39? I don't really think your market is as big as you think.
That's Serbian, not US made. Also Serbia/Yugoslavia has never made a 5.45 so it would be pretty weird of them to make it now. It would be a consumer market only thing with no historical/military value. As someone who actually owns multiple 5.45 AKs, it's not something I would be interested in personally.
kinda like the picture of the polish tantal in the SGN ads for like a decade
it had the mag not latched in, I'd assume so that it would have the same apparent curve as the 7.62
>that splotching
I had that on the right side of my M92, while the left side is prestine.. is that normal or did I get some sort of fricked up version.. Atlantic had no indication it was a blem
Well it seems to run good, and the top and rear pic rails appear pretty centered. But as my first AK I was a little dissapointed to see half the gun looks like it got attacked by a scratch pad
So what specifically do you want? Just a short 5.45 and you don't care about anything else and obviously don't know enough about AKs to know what you should care about? Enjoy your palmetto state. An actual Russian-made AKS-74U? Complain to Obama. A Bulgarian made AKS-74U? Enjoy spending $2500 for a parts kit, $700 on a barrel, and another $1k on either tools or a professional builder because that isn't made anymore. A Bulgarian made consumer market AK-74? Never gonna happen again as circle 10 is primarily a military contract manufacturer and we're lucky they bother with us at all. A Zastava in 5.45? Probably going to be a worse abomination than a US-made gun, Yugoslavia was never even part of the Soviet Union and their AKs have been their own weird thing from day 1. They do a lot of consumer market stuff today but I doubt they'll see enough of a market in doing something weird that never existed to be worth their time. An FB Radom made 5.45? They are also a military contract manufacturer and we're lucky they sent us some 5.56 Beryls. Maybe a WBP in 5.45? This is probably the most likely to happen outside of the US consumer market. They're a consumer market company in Poland that isn't terrible and they are already selling new manufactured 5.45 parts kits here. It will not be an AK-74 though, once again, it is their own special thing that is basically an AKM rechambered in 5.45. If you want an actual AK-74 there are only two options, one of them is banned for import forever or until this shit ass excuse for a government is toppled, the other is no longer making them. Sorry man, that's just how it goes.
That's delusional but whatever. It's a fun cartridge that I enjoy shooting and I do wish it was more available. OP doesn't even know what the frick he is asking for though. He posted a gel blaster toy for crying out loud.
This is a great rundown.
The truth is the perfect off-the-shelf authentic AK74 and ak74su already happened. It was Arsenal Bulgaria + KVAR's SLR 104 series. Original soviet tooling + good enough QC + importer willing to sell factory SBRs.
I am sad I didn't get the big boy as well but I love this one.

yep, obama took the opportunity to ban imports from Ukraine as well so that cut off the supply of Mosins and cheap 54r and 7n6. Literally 90% of it came out of Ukraine and Bulgaria.
And Bulgaria sold off basically all of their small stockpiles.
See, Bulgaria does actually have a history with 5.45 and their AK-74s are straight from the Soviet AK-74 data package. That's quite a bit different than wanting a Yugo pattern AK that's been bastardized to shoot 5.45.
Yes, i'm aware that picrel is a Serbian m92 >It would be a consumer market only thing with no historical/military value
You can't be this moronic.
You're the moron in this thread OP. No one wants a 5.45 yugo.
Do you understand how the AK market works dipshit? Right now it's either a US consumer market abomination or something from Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, or Serbia. Of those only Bulgaria has ever fielded a proper AKS-74U. Romania and Poland had 5.45 guns extremely temporarily but they were their own weird designs and they stopped making them very quickly, never have they made consumer market versions, the few you see are all builds from imported demilled surplus parts kits. Bulgaria stopped making them more recently as all their military contract stuff has been in 5.56 or 7.62x39 for a long time so it wasn't worth it to keep it up just for a few civilian collector sales.
>who the frick wanted a krink with a long ass barrel

I know your type. The kind that shoots every animal seen. Not seething, I understand pest control etc. it just gets old seeing it celebrated, it's only a dead animal and not even a game one...
That fox was literally chasing one of my hens across the front yard. I stepped out on the porch and shot once into his neck while he was running. I’m pretty proud of that shot actually.
There were two foxes though. The other one stayed gone for about a year, but this summer another one is back. It’s leaving worm infested poop around my property too for my dogs to find.
Because that's moronic. ARs copied 7.62x39 to have better performance in short barrels with 300 blackout the same way AKs kocked off 5.56 to make 5.45. Why would you want an AK in the knockoff caliber when the original works better in short barrels?
5.45 AK's are not being manufactured in sufficient quantity in the US. So add the fact nobody is importing Krink parts kits and the American AK market is almost wholly focused around 7.62x39 who the frick would make a Krink before an AK74?. The last chance to nab them for a good price was around 2016 when Arsenal made the SLR106UR.
It isn't. 5.45 is a genetic dead end and with cheap imports(mostly 7n6) banned there's very little reason to use it over the superior 5.56/7.62x39.
>PSA has joined the chat
It'll be 25-30cpr while their .223 is the same price or cheaper. Zero point other than being a snowflake.
No.
Yeah i won't hold my breath, they've been saying for years they'd come out with one.

people are buying these ak pistols in 7.62x39 because that's pretty much the closest thing they could get their hands on to a "krink".

Damn, that's worse than I thought. I haven't seen one that bad. I would complain to atlantic.
get a refund or demand they discount it for being messed up.
7.62x39 performs better out of a short barrel
nice maglock

5.45 is better than 5.56 you moron, especially if compared to short barrels

newbie. 7n6 was banned because of supposed 5.45 pistols so nobody makes them now and with 5.45 being a dead meme there is zero incentive
This, and it wasn’t even a gun that was imported beyond extremely small numbers, and it still gave them cause to ban 7N6.
yep, obama took the opportunity to ban imports from Ukraine as well so that cut off the supply of Mosins and cheap 54r and 7n6. Literally 90% of it came out of Ukraine and Bulgaria.
And Bulgaria sold off basically all of their small stockpiles.
The yawing effect from a 5.45x39 out this barrel at close range would be devastating, Anon.
Because 5.45 is already slow and weak 5.56 but loses even more velocity shorter barrels.
Arsenal sold these for decades. Are you new to guns?
See, Bulgaria does actually have a history with 5.45 and their AK-74s are straight from the Soviet AK-74 data package. That's quite a bit different than wanting a Yugo pattern AK that's been bastardized to shoot 5.45.

Personally, I despise SBR's in SCHV cartridges. 7.62x39 just makes more sense ballistically.
I'm hoping 5.45 gets more pull as time goes on, it's a wonderful caliber. But not on a pistol.
>The demand is there.
Not really, demand for 7.62x39 AKs is far higher and demand for 5.56x45 AKs is somewhat higher.
