don't you get smug with me c**t, you know what it's about. People ask options for off grid cabin in da woods type of living on outdoors board, instead they get memed with that psyop image and told to frick off back to the wage cage 9000 and stop trying to escape the hell hole that is your average city

            Anonymous

I don't think anyone needs to tell them to frick off back to their wage cage. They're not going to go out in the first place, "asking options for off grid cabin in a woods type of living" never leads them anywhere and it never has. If they haven't learned anything from the same exact posts being posted hundreds of times over, they won't learn now.

bruh, there's a way out of the city but it involves years of planning, saving, and buckling down. but zoomers don't want to hear that; they want instant gratification, and if that's not possible
              >fricking boomers

              save money, buy land.
save more money, build an actual house.
but no, that's too much work. what they're typically asking about is finding some patch of land that's
              a)accessible
b)isolated enough they can put up a ted shed without anyone knowing about it

it's just fantasy anon, and it smacks of soft, coddled suburban shitheads who have literally no idea what they're getting into. It's a very hard life style, and even if they were able to miraculously get started, they'd give up after a weekend and slink off back to mommy's house for some tendies and hentai.

              nice projection

here, I'll summarize every single one of these larp/theorycraft threads

                >nooo, frick israel and boomers

what is there to prove? that you rather meme psyop image instead of giving tips? nice way to censor anyone looking into Ted/Cody Lundin type of living because it´s just a stupid trend right? those stupid urbanites stand no chance they better wake the frick up bro DON'T EVE TRY

what a sad behavior, PrepHole? more like /in/

so you're new to PrepHole gotcha. stick around for a while and notice the
                exact
                same
                thread
posted over, and over, and over again. it would be one thing if the poster was actually serious about doing it, but no.. it's always the exact same thing: some 20 y/o disaffected sadsack who somehow believes that they can just frick off into the woods with no clue how to do it, or what to expect, or what it actually takes. and that it would somehow make them any happier or better off (it wouldn't. as bad as your life might be, it's still better than living offgrid in a ted shed). you aren't a hermit, you've never been isolated and alone. you've never had to deal without hot water, warm food, and the ability to get clean and dry. you're looking for an escape.

first couple threads you might give a high effort response with actual advice. But very quickly you learn just how pointless it is. at the end of the day every single thing you could possibly want to learn is a google or YT search away. maybe if they started there and came up with a plan BEFORE POSTING they'd be taken more seriously.
but again, that's far too much work, it's easier to come here and expect people to spoonfeed.

does that make sense? do i need to clarify why there's such animosity towards this thread?

The tips have been given before. If they were serious about it, they wouldn't come and post the same "spoonfeed me literally everything about self sufficiency" OP that reeks of idle daydreaming and no dedication. If they want effort in responses, they ought to put effort into learning.
                >DON'T EVE TRY
They're not going to. We know this. They know this. That's why the maladaptive daydreaming cycle is posted.

    kind of pathetic

Hello everyone, I'm a homeless 18 year old agendered demi-humanoid catboy living in New York City, New York! Lately I've been wanting to move out into the forest and live off the land and build a house, but how do I poop in the woods??? Where are the designated water fountains and homeless shelters to supply water bottles and food in the woods? I'm totally going to go live out there, so any help is appreciated!!

this captures the essence of these theorycraft threads so well.

step 1: idle daydream about how grand it would be not have any responsibilities and live like a caveman
step 2 (and this is crucial): because you are the very first person who has ever had this thought, you must head over to PrepHole.com/out to ask your extremely novel question, and of course they'll be receptive
step 3: when the people on PrepHole roast you for your stupid bullshit, get defensive and again pretend that you aren't the 17th person to raise this very same issue.
step 4: frick off back to whatever anime board spawned you.

tl;dr there's like no barrier entry to being a hobo in the woods. if you are dumb enough to romanticize that lifestyle, just go do it. You don't need permission to starve in the woods -- just don't be too offended when people call you out for being a disgusting, littering piece of shit.

wilderness living isnt a bad thing. hating your life and doing nothing to change your circumstance is, and it's what a large chunk of this board is based on.

because i have an actual job being a productive member of society i enjoy doing stuff like hiking camping and skiing nearly every weekend and several holidays a year. hows that compare to woe is me i wish i sit in the basement and not actually do the PrepHole thing i fantasize about?

Kek no. It doesn't count because it's a made up field. Nobody is ever able to explain what a software engineer does.
It's like that one time we asked the safety manager at my work what he actually does all day. He couldn't answer it. Fricker is still employed too.

Too many completely inexperienced urban and suburban newhomosexuals think they can just go live in the forest like some magical fairytale Disney shit. After years of these types of threads some people get tired of it and just start responding with insults and jokes and cruelty.

Maybe next time baby decides it wants to be a Mountain Man you could start by actually going outside for an hour before spamming this board.

    That’s my two cents.

I think the worst part is the laziness. Like if you were halfway through building your cabin and you came here for advice on some technical issue you’d probably get a decent response.

You come here shitposting from your apartment “what do I need to know to live completely off-grid?” Idk Timmy, can you tie your shoes?

        Anonymous

        >I think the worst part is the laziness
no, the worst part IS the laziness. In fact, it's the only part.

        if someone came here with
        >here's the land i'm in the process of buying
        >i've researched these rules/regs
        >this is the climate, topgraphy, and my budget is X my plan is to do Y
        they'd get zero hatred.

it's the morons who want to be spoonfed after playing a whopping 3 hours of stardew valley that draw everyone's ire.

It's not in itself a bad thing, just annoying when you post about some casual outdoor activity you've been doing, making no pretenses about your own lack of experience, and a load of weirdly competitive posturing autists who think they're Dick Proenneke drown everything out with tales about how you shoulda done x they woulda done y, when it's quite clear by certain expectations and illusions they have about outdoor things that they have mainly been playing vidya and watching youtube vids on the subject.
Also, what other folk here are saying about the repetitive fantasy posts about escaping to the country to live in a cabin by people with no clue. They'll never do it because they don't have the wherewithal to cook themselves a meal and keep on top of their laundry, so it becomes clear it's an escapist daydream.
