It is the most stratified society in the world. You have literal poo in loo street shitters living on dirt floors next to neurosurgeons and their military reflects this

The one where they chunked Bangladesh off of Pakistan. Pretty decisively too and they did stop a genocide in the process.
This was probably the peak of Indian foreign policy and military ability. Everything before and since was pretty moronic.

Maybe this is why my experience as an American working in IT my encounters with Indians has been generally positive whereas online the stories you hear about India is about rape and lack of sanitation facilities. I actually really like working with Indian software devs in the US. Some real hard working dudes and they always want to share their food with you. I'd never go vegan but if I did like half the Indian staff at my place I'd probably do it their way.

To be fair, those ones you work with are the best who immediately leave.

Off topic but why do so many cultures squat or sit on their knees whereas western Europe uses chairs?

          Anonymous

They usually live more outdoors and if you don't want to get your bum covered in dirt, you squat, and its the natural, human way to sit. We are the weird ones to use seated "loos" instead of using squating ones, the natural way to take a shit.

Because they're too fricking moronic to invent stools. Even fricking cavemen sat on stools when working.

Squatting is better for the back than sitting as well as defecating. Another thing Indians do right is washing their posteriors afterwards. The problems with Indians:
          > they dont drink enough water so they sweat too much
          > they eat oily salty spicy sugary food that causes obesity, diabetes, and blood pressure problems
          > they dont bathe everyday because they believe in the old Euro myth that bathing with cold water makes you sick
          > they dont shave
          > they shit in public
          > their cringe accent
          > cousin marriage for obvious reasons
          > arranged marriages guarantee that manlets and uggos will breed to produce more manlets and uggos rather than letting natural competition and selection play things out

The people who can leave are the cream of the crop, especially since the US has a per country cap that makes it harder for people from big countries like India to immigrate. The percent of Indians who get their immigration to the US approved is under 10%.

I've heard some horror stories from a close friend of mine that does piping as an engineer.
Indians not doing the proper calculations, leaving out safety margins, improper materiel choices, allowing for certain pipes to connect that should never ever be connected for ease of maintenance ect.
his conclusion was that we shouldn't be shocked at the Bopal disaster but surprised they don't have major frick ups like that more often.
granted that was working with indians in india.

I work IT and it's sort of the same. The guys that do support on distance (1st line support) are shit at their job and basically need to be instructed every step of the way to not frick up. The ones that are actually in my country, working 2nd line support locally are relatively well-spoken and can actually learn their way around things.
Not the best people I've seen (most competent people I've seen are always native euro at least), but they're definitely above average if those 1st liners are a good measuring stick.

You may as well say all Indians are smart just because the Indians you personally know are smart.

        1. The Indians you're interacting with are mostly the products of BRAIN DRAIN or educated upper-class Indians who emigrated abroad to the West.

        2. Compare the aforementioned Indian diaspora in the West + South Africa and Fiji with the Indian diaspora in say Guyana, Trinidad, Mauritius and Malaysia who are descended from indentured laborers. The latter are not very smart at all.

        3. There's been many articles and stories in recent years where upper caste Indians in the IT sector in the West actually discriminate against lower caste Indians when they come into contact.

One of the things many upper caste IT guys do when they meet or get to know an Indian for the first time is touch their shoulders in order to see if they're wearing a Upanayana / Janeu which is a string of thread worn by members of the priestly Brahmin class. Keep an eye on that.

The whole cast thing exists but people do not make the nuance that the importance of casts among the educated urban Indians (AKA the ones living in the west with an IT job as well) is very minor. Yes you obviously have some radicals among them as well but by en large cast is predominantly irrelevant for them. The heavy cast-based discrimination is what you see mostly among rural Indians, who also end up being footsoldiers I their army for instance. The cast issue isn't evenly spread among their society

            >The whole cast thing exists but people do not make the nuance that the importance of casts among the educated urban Indians (AKA the ones living in the west with an IT job as well) is very minor.

Indians who grew up in the West don't care about casteism that much (but many do to an extent) but the ones who just moved abroad to work in IT aren't the ones who grew up in the West. Majority of them still hold views from back home.

It's also related to another phenomenon where Indians in North America will support liberal and SJW policies over there, but the same ones will also support Hindutva policies back home. This includes the people working in tech.

You could see this on Facebook and Twitter where the most insane Hindutva conspiracy theories and fake news gets spread around without being taken down (unless there's a public outrage over an incident), some of which literally have led to lynchings, and yet they'll take down anything that offends the Left in the West or offends say Black, Chinese, Indian people in general or LGBT people. Even during the COVID-19 breakout, there were Hindutvas blaming the pandemic on Muslims and majority of those Tweets and posts are still online.
