apprently ukrainians changed their tactics and advance slowly with small units instead of massed vehicle attacks, force russian arty to react and destroy them with counterbattery fire, similar shit with other russian vehicles. pidorashkas can't do the same because of longer range and precision of western artillery in ukrainian hands. something like that.

Because they've decided to have political wisdom supersede military wisdom, so they are only focused on short-term gains, not withdrawing from lost ground and avoiding anything that would give them bad PR on the homefront.

Because of this, they will never actually utilise their defences as they should be and will leave themselves even more undermanned and under-armed when winter sets in.

Their current strategy is all they have left. Dig in and launch counterattacks at every village to try to prolong the war to where their western 5th columns can convince their populations to stop supporting Ukraine.

      >Literally, unironically, metaphysically, genuinely, what could Russia even do at this point to win?
their strategy now is to wait for western support to stop, they wait for US elections and hope that western allies will be tired of supporting ukraine. so their best bet is pure defence until some kinda agreement could be forced on ukraine to freeze the war on present frontlines.

    1. They’re not. Orynx is very biased and has been caught multiple times failing to count Ukie losses or double-counting RU losses. Also he only counts visual losses and Ukr strictly controls info leakage. So unless a RU drone gets a clear view of a loss it’s unlikely to be reported. The Chally2 loss is a prime example; it was reported ONLY because an Ukr serviceman accidentally showed the loss in a video.

    2. Ukr benefits TREMENDOUSLY from real-time NATO intel. This allows a drone team to quickly put eyes on a target which also allows them to take video of the kill.

So in short the losses are much closer that you believe and NATO intel support is what even puts them in competition.

      >Orynx is very biased and has been caught multiple times failing to count Ukie losses or double-counting RU losses.
Eighteen months of this bullshit accusation, never offered with solid evidence of a significant miscount. The team behind Oryx have been transparent and publicly corrected errors brought to their attention.
      >Also he only counts visual losses
Yes, and his decision to exclude the Russian MOD's fanfic by insisting on geolocated photo or video evidence must strike you as terribly unfair, but that's his decision to make. Picrel, go start your own fucking OSINT blog and see what sort of a reputation for integrity you can generate.
      >So unless a RU drone gets a clear view of a loss it’s unlikely to be reported
Russia has a whole network of milbloggers and affiliated Telegram channels and they spam every bit of flattering footage they can get to boost morale. But first: there needs to BE a loss to photograph. The simplest explanation isn't a conspiracy of NATO satellites guiding AFU drones to get the best angles for battlefield surveillance. It's that Russia scores fewer kills than Ukraine.
Or, let me guess, you're going to argue that when the Russian forces put their tails between their legs and fled Kharkiv in a panic there were TONS of AFU casualties that the Russians just couldn't seem to take clear photos of during their hasty retreat?

        Anonymous

        >The team behind Oryx have been transparent and publicly corrected errors brought to their attention.
Openly admitting and correcting an error made in good faith is a sign of weakness. We are dealing with creatures that live in a society in which for generations the only way to deal with a fuckup was to lie and if the lie is found out you simply lie some more.
If someone admits to a failure or mistake he was forced to do so and is simply the public scapegoat. The loss of face that goes with such an action is already part of the punishment, no matter what other forms of punishment may follow.
They simply can't grasp the concept of admitting a mistake as a sign of integrity and strength.

      >The Chally2 loss is a prime example; it was reported ONLY because an Ukr serviceman accidentally showed the loss in a video.
Ukrainian drone once flew over Belgorod region showing depo where Russians brings their lost and damaged vehicles, a single depo had several hundred destroyed beyond repair tanks, Ifvs and trucks none of which were recorded on Oryx
      >2. Ukr benefits TREMENDOUSLY from real-time NATO intel. This allows a drone team to quickly put eyes on a target which also allows them to take video of the kill.
This real time data also allows them to make that kill in first place

The funniest thing about this "double counted vehicles" cope is that they could just make their own site where they point out all the mistakes. All the images are freely available
Even if we charitably assume they're correct about the double counting, they're arguing whether Russia lost 5000 or 4999 tanks

Bad leadership and a lack of NCOs. The Russian Army was designed for massive armored pushes to overrun the enemy. However, in current year there's enough ATGMs that a well planned ambush can wipe an entire company of tanks. With incompetent Senior Officers and no effective NCOs you get cases where entire brigades just keep waltzing into the same killbox again and again and get mauled.
