Why is Glock too stupid to understand that they need to ditch their stupid thicc polymer wrapped mags if they ever want to compete with SIG in the subcompact market ever again?

Mag compatability and availability is one of the last things glock has. Ditching that would be dumb

      >Mag compatability and availability
Sure, they have those going for them. But the dumb magazines are also what's holding them back, like >57323703 said

For the double stacks, yes. For the single stacks that compete with the sig and the hellcat and the shield plus, not really
      >t. unpaid glock shill who got a 365 instead of a little glock

The glock 43x/48 works better if you think of it as competing with the 365xl and just accept you’ll be buying aftermarket magazines for it.

I don't think they will. Glock kind of painted themselves into a corner with their slim models. Because they retained the thick polymer coating on the magazines they aren't as slim as other pistols, but if they go ahead and make an extra slim model that does use a slimmer magazine now it won't be backwards compatible with their existing slim guns and magazines. That's a bit of a dilemma because Glock tries to make new models with a minimum of changes and a maximum of backwards and forwards cross-compatability. Making an extra slim line would render their existing single stack models a dead end on their family tree without much legacy support.

      This
There's also the fact that everything glock can crank out is under backorder by the suppliers and PDs/militaries, so there isn't much reason to innovate.

I actually agree, Shield Arms mags fix that problem though, just change the springs once a year. However Glock has rested on their laurels for way too long because "the aftermarket will fix it". They're the Bethesda of gun manufacturers.

Still, love mine and carry it every day

Looking forward to the PSA G43x mags that retain the polymer catch so you don't need to replace it like with the shield mags. Hoping they work

Why is OP too stupid to understand that they need to compare the proper models if they ever want to shitpost with anons on the PrepHole ever again?

      Anonymous

Not OP, but its a fair comparison. Same capacity. Comparing the 43 makes it an even worse comparison for the glock. With SA15 mags in the 43x though, the grip is VERY close in size to the P365 with the 12 round mag, meaning the glock wins there, still, moronic that I hafto pay a 3rd party 50 bux for that

G43 is a single stack, moron. You either sacrifice capacity to get closer to the sig's size or you match capacity and get blown out on size.

Whining about 10 vs 6 round capacity is fricking pointless. Like saying that normal all season tires are bad for a daily driver because DOT slicks exist. It's an accord driving to the store, it literally does not matter.

Show me citizen self defense shootings where 10 shots of 9mm were required and 6 wouldn't have done the work required.

You're just another stat sheet hero beating their little stuffy over imagined scenarios that don't happen.
            >MUH FOUR MORE SHOTS. NOBODY CAN SURVIVE WITH 6. ITS DANGEROUS TO CARRY THAT LITTLE AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU OBVIOUSLY WANT TO TAKE AWAY ALL GUNS.
You're making non sequitur arguments like a panicky homo. Get over yourself.

No one is arguing the merits of ammo capacity. If you think you there's no situation where four extra rounds can make a difference, all the more power to you. We're talking about firearm design and why Sig, Springfield, and S&W can put 10+1 in a gun that's smaller than a 6+1 Glock, and why Glock is content with being left in the dust simply because polymer mags are part of their brand identity or something stupid like that.

So what’s the number, big guy? Is it 6? Is the glock 43 is as low as you’ll go capacity wise? Maybe 5? Lotta good 5 shot compact revolvers. Would you take a 4 shot gun the size of a glock 43 and say it’s good enough? How about 3?

      Now compare width and capacity

Glock cultists will buy it anyway. What you should be asking yourself is what is actually the benefit of minmaxing 9mm capacity in 3" guns? I feel like at a certain point you might as well just carry a full size for the better control.

Their polymer coated mags were a reaction to customer demand from real world circumstances. As far as I'm concerned they should just continue to do their thing and people can buy other stuff if they want, I don't think it's a bad thing to have someone out there offering a decent constant for other people to compete against and beat.
    >This is better than the 43x
    >This is better than the G26
These are high marks and it's good for the customer that multiple manufacturers are striving to outdo them. Meanwhile plenty of people will buy the baseline and that's all they need, that's why I have a G42.

It really was a shit grip. Traded it for a G43 and it fills the hand much better. I don't even wear large gloves.

Glock fricked up decades ago, they're fundamentally flawed and need a complete redesign. They refuse to do it so their brand is dead in the water. You can keep buying inferior trash if you want, idc if your gun malfunctions, has the worst mags in the handgun market, or is excessively bulky.

They'll never do that because doing so would admit they have been shit this entire time. It would tank the brand.

I like the Glock 43x a lot better than the SIG though I did have to do some modding to it.

I might also pick up some of the steel mags for it which do exactly what you're asking for.

I did not care for the Hellcat at all. Grouped okay and was a nice size but the felt recoil was in .357mag territory for some odd reason.

I can't find any target pictures with my p365xl but they were on par with the Hellcat. It was softer shooting too but not any softer than the Glock, and I prefer the Glock.
