Why is .30 cal so popular with rifle cartridges (.308, .300 WM etc.) but not common at all with pistol cartridges?

Why is .30 cal so popular with rifle cartridges (.308, .300 WM etc.) but not common at all with pistol cartridges?

The closest thing we have is .32 but that caliber hasn't seen any love for decades and its most popular representative, .32 ACP, is in a coma and about to flatline because it's gotten so brutally eclipsed by subcompact .380s.

Also, .30 supperhomosexual (not a .30 cal either) and 7.5 brapno are already gay and dead before they even left infancy.

I find it impossible to believe that no one ever tried reviving the .30 Luger with modern pressures and powders. A modern .30 Luger would shit on 9mm balistically.

Actually, no, surprisingly - they look like normal breasts.
In that regard I think I actually sort of lucked out, strange as it might sound. I was never really overweight at all, so I think that played a large part in that.

Another thing is that when they first started coming in, I freaked the frick out and tried to hide them with shit like sports wraps and tape, until the point where they were too big for me to make that work, then I switched to really tight sports bras, these things called breast binders which are fricking horrible, and "compression tops" which are sort of a middle ground between the two.
Because of that, they never really had the chance to droop at all.
I mentioned it before, they're actually really nice, I just wish they weren't attached to me.

                >What caused the hormonal imbalance?
No idea. Doctor is under the impression it is just an especially harsh case of gynecomastia, as to what caused that, who can say.
Because I don't have a loss of testosterone related features (beard, sperm count, etc) he seems to think it might be a periodic spike in testosterone causing elevated estrogen levels as a side effect, similar to what someone who takes steroids would experience, but I've never used any performance enhancing drugs before, so it's just a mystery.
My hormone levels are relatively normal now, but it's not like breasts just go away.

You clearly didn't try fricking hard enough then. I'm not talking about some stretches and some chest flies. I'm talking about bodybuilding competition levels of work. Seriously, look at some female bodybuilders that started out with C/D cups, they don't even look like they have breasts anymore.

Have friends that were hard on the juice during their time in group, and ended up doing boring low impact jobs after leaving and stopped working out hard. They've ended up with breasts, one bigger than yours but not as big as Bob. Some just shrugged and deal with it like you, a couple used either surgery or pharma to varying degrees of success, but a couple went hard on working out again and solved it that way. Regardless, you can b***h out and just keep playing with your breasts if all you've got is excuses. I said my piece.

Well with handguns you can't typically get much velocity, so projectiles tend to be wider and heavier to make up their velocity deficit. Compare the wounds left by typical FMJ handgun rounds and ~9mm projectiles do a serviceable job while ~7.62 projectiles tend to leave worse wounds unless forced to go significantly faster like in the case of 7.5 FK and 7.62 tok. However this significantly reduces barrel life, increases muzzle blast, recoil, and all around makes the gun harder to use. As for why a lot of rifles went with 30 cal, I honestly can't tell you, especially since we knew early on in the development of smokeless rounds that a small projectile going fast makes a better wound than a slow and fat projectile. Ultimately it just comes down to speed, it's why BP rifles typically have such large bores compared to smokeless designs

I've posted this on /misc/ multiple times, but this entire website is one big information war/psy-op shitfest between Anons, government agents, and NGO activists like Shareblue and unironically the JIDF. PrepHole has been a nexus of internet culture for about 15 years, but in the lead up to 2016 it got noticed. /misc/ is what tipped the balance for Trump. crossposters from /k/ and /misc/ called in fricking airstrikes on US-backed rebels in Syria multiple times. FBI anon turned out to be the real fricking deal. Seth Rich and the Awans/Schultz involved with Pakistani ISI? The HWNDU shit with Shia, all of it proved the power of a decentralized group of autists as an intel agency.

All of that has made pretty much anyone with an agenda nervous, because a bunch of morons on the internet have de-railed so much shit. Look at the whole Gamergate debacle. Why was the fricking department of defense funding Woke groups? Look at how much good information and infographs have come out of this site and cripplechan. There are deranged schizo ravings here, and moron tier conspiracies, but there are also some really smart, connected people that first started using the site in '04-09 that are now in their thirties almost forties. /misc/ and PrepHole in general, has proven almost completely impervious to traditional COINTEL techniques, so the solution is just to drown us in morons, normies, shills, bots, slide threads, bait posts, etc. to bring the signal to noise level down so far that nothing of any value can be discussed.

Anons with generally good ideas for how to make things happen for the better, or just old school PrepHole pranks get bombarded with "kys glowBlack person", "Ok fed", or "Take your meds schizo" and that has absolutely killed the soul of the entire site. I hate it that I don't have my comfy morons to talk to anymore after I get home from work, open the door, get on the floor, but there's nobody left walking the dinosaur.

You know what's sad and funny about all that? NEET morons that came together doing something for free and better at it than world super powers with trillions of dollars at it's disposal lel.

We'll probably get that all again one day but from another website currently on the shitlist of a lot of government Black folk and journo scum not from here. What this place will probably produce is another Bianca Devins situation or some young lad killing himself from discord trannie blackmail.

I don't think its really possible to capture the soul of old internet again. Looking forward, the whole 4th gen information war shit with chat bots and AI, tracking ads and targeted social media is going to steer 95% of internet discourse towards what ~~*they*~~ desire. Whether the ~~*they*~~ of that is corporate interests, israelites, chinese propaganda, western globohomo, etc. It will be almost impossible for a site to grow without being forced to bend the knee. Look at b***hute, once they hit critical mass the payment processors started threatening, MSM hit pieces started flooding out, and b***hute is steadily caving in. Odyssee is probably next on the chopping block.

There are chan alternatives, but the moment one of them becomes problematic, actual feds falseflag the hell out of it as has been proven in court documents showing the feds getting yous in threads from cripplechan.

    >The closest thing we have is .32
Which is logical, because rifle bullets and pistol bullets have different requirements, different weight and different twist rate. Might as well make them in a slightly different bore to prevent mixups - or rather, they've evolved from different designs in the black powder era.

    >.30 Super
Basically a .32. Not completely dead yet, still has a chance to become alive with the industry catching up (but probably not)
    >7.5 FK
Will probably survive, being a wildcat with a niche purpose and following that can be made from 10mm brass. At least most of the cartridge can be made from existing components.
    >.30 Luger with modern components
    So, 7.62 Tokarev?

As for why no .32? You can either make it straight walled and wimpy (which is wimpy), straight walled and strong (which does not fit in magazines, only revolver cylinders) or necked down. Necked down pistol cartridges are pretty niche, only really succesful on has been .357 SIG and that's .40 down to 9mm. You aren't losing too much mass there, but with 9mm down to .30 for example, you'd lose too much mass to be attractive to the general public, no matter the velocity increase.
Go try it for yourself, design a .30/.32 cal handgun cartridge in GRT, come back with the results. You just can't really make them...good.

      >9mm down to .30 for example, you'd lose too much mass to be attractive to the general public
So you are telling me the reason is pure fuddlore and misinformation?
Most common 9mm loads are 115-124gr. .30 could easily handle the same grain weights. (see .30 Carbine)

What I don’t understand is why women are so desperate for attention when men are so desperate to give it. It’s like women simply cannot get enough attention no matter how much they get. Hell, they’re so desperate for attention that they get jealous when other women get attention.

    All that to say,

Pistols have short barrels. Powder needs space to burn. The wider the bore the more space for powder to burn. The pressure generated also creates more power the larger the rear of the bullet it is being applied to.
Of course the wider the ammo the less fit in a magazine and larger the barrel and slide.
9mm has become the minimum compromise for most use. Hitting a sweet spot of capacity and energy.

In a rifle the long barrel allows smaller and smaller diameters to be used because the barrel length allows more space to burn and longer for a given pressure to apply force to the bullet.

    >Why is .30 cal so popular with rifle cartridges (.308, .300 WM etc.)
Because early firearm bores were cut with measuring tools based on the old British unit "Line" And .30 Caliber rifles were originally called "3 Line Rifles" and it spread globally do to the influence of British and later American arms and equipment trade
    >but not common at all with pistol cartridges?
Pretty sure 9mm is .35 inches so most pistols indeed are in the .30 Caliber range. The original Luger actually was a true .30 cal but the German Army demanded a slightly fatter bore size

Picrelated. Haven't fired the 300WM at all yet, local range closed down for good, now I'm like two hours from anywhere with more than 50 yards between you and the berm.

Because for rifles smaller bore = higher velocities behind a lighter bullet
In a pistol you’re not maximizing range or penetration, you want a heavier bullet that dumps as much of it’s carried energy as possible into a target at shorter range so having a small light fast bullet that penetrates super duper well isn’t preferred. .30 cal and smaller rounds are usually not great self defense choices because they’re generally too light and small to do what a pistol is supposed to do. Hence, .35 to .45 cal rounds dominate the pistol scene as they’re heavier and are more useful in a pistol sized cartridge. Plus existing machinery, tooling, and consumer market is all already heavily based around .35, .40, and .45.
Btw I cummed to this picture

in the black powder era they had the same diameters. with smokeless powders there was an introduction of "small bore" cartridges. these were met with a lot of scepticism, but the ability to shoot way further overcame that for rifles. with handguns range is limited more by the ability to aim than the trajectory of the bullet, so the scepticism prevailed.

    >7.5 brapno are already gay and dead
Is it dead? So far it's not being used or made by any other company, but is that because of propriety or because no other company sees value in it? FK BRNO seems to be doing well seeing as they're releasing a new PSD model. I'd argue that it's one of the most exciting rounds of recent times. A relatively controllable pistol cartridge that can reliably reach out to 100+m is crazy.

      >relatively controllable pistol cartridge that can reliably reach out to 100+m is crazy.
You know what else can reach out to 100m+ easily? Rifle rounds. Far a third of the price.

But then you have to carry a rifle. The whole point is that it's a pistol cartridge with a flat trajectory that can be used to hit targets at 100m+. I'm not arguing that it's going to replace rifles or become a popular self defense round, just that its capability is impressive and it may find a niche.

7.5FK is a smart idea with moronic execution. Not fitting in any current production firearm and charging $2-7k per gun isn't going to get it picked up. The other nail in the coffin is using .308 diameter bullets when .312 already has huge support in handgun cartridges. I'm assuming this is also to make sure you can only buy their overpriced ammo instead of handloading or giving ammo manufacturers an easy way to sell their own.

Shorten it; eating the slight performance loss so it can fit in 10mm guns, then make it .312 diameter so you can load .32 ACP bullets. You may not even have to sacrifice case length if you could get rid of the absolute meme bullet design and use traditionally shaped JHPs instead. Just use the same construction as Critical Duty to mitigate overexpansion.

morons were sitting on a gold mine when they could have loaded a 60gr .32 JHP at 2500 FPS. I'd pay good money for a CC gun that mimics 10" M855 ballistics.

    7.62 BRNO, 7.62 tokarev.
the former is very nearly rifle performance from a pistol, the latter has a good chance at killing a motherfricker in kevlar.
    >I find it impossible to believe that no one ever tried reviving the .30 Luger with modern pressures and powders. A modern .30 Luger would shit on 9mm balistically.
so go take a gunsmithing class and rechamber a glock or something in your fantasy round.
or you could just shoot a 357 sig and realize why nobody uses that shit

I think it's hilarious that fmj 5.7 has less armor penetrating than hollow point 22tcm. the germans threw massive amounts of money at developing their pdw round, and some dudes in a garage went "what if we done took a 22lr bullet in one o' them 556 cartridges and stuck it in a 9mm?" And made a pistol round that does better... if we don't count magazine capacity and how no one wants to use 22tcm.

.30 caliber became the standard for military cartridges at the time smokeless powder was invented. Before smokeless powder velocities were a lot less, so to get enough energy downrange for a clean kill the types of bullets used in antique firearms were larger, .40 or .45 typically.
