Mortar offers more payload for a given weight with the only downside being the 10km max range which is completely enough for such a mobile and survivable vehicle. What are you gonna use to destroy this thing even if it's just 10km from the front lines?
Because the whole point of mortar systems is that they should be cheap and numerous so you can deploy them down to battalion/company level. That thing costs a fortune.
It is cheap and numerous when you consider that just one turret, that can be fitted to literally any APC, pretty much completely replaces a mortar platoon and two replaces a mortar company.
And how are you gonna lose them when they shoot and scoot and have a much smaller presence than a conventional mortar platoon? Compare a whole conventional mortar platoon with loads of vehicles, dozens of men etc. to a single APC with a single supply truck.
Faster firing, less crew, armored, faster shoot and scoot etc.
With the NEMO you can use the rest of the personnel not needed anymore for manning the mortars for hauling ammo etc. and improve your overall combat capability.
most countries doctrines simply dont have a role for it.
>mobile accurate compact high volume 120mm indirect fire that can't be counter arty'd
>no role
???
120mm MORTAR
This limits its range significantly, reducing it's viability as a indirect support vehicle greatly.
>accurate
Less accurate than a real howitzer
>can't be counter arty'd
So just like normal SPA?
>120mm indirect fire
So worse than 155mm?
What's the point? If you have a vehicle this size you might as well use a proper 155 howitzer and not a mortar.

Can Nemo prove it achieves a 5-10m Cep while firing on the move and mrsi?

and by losing one you lose a whole mortar platoon and losing two you lose a whole mortar company

Drones.
Too slow and not enough range.
No I mean kamikaze drones will pop NEMO's like the tin cans they are because they have to remain at close proximity to the front.
Because I couldn't find it
What internal volume of the APC does the mortar system occupy, if mounted on a lav or m113 how much room would remain for dismounts.
Any extra room should be used to carry more ammo to increase firepower, carrying troops would be useless as it isn't supposed to go to the very front.
10km is more than enough.
That thing probably costs as much as our entire CVRT fleet.
And for what, a fancy pants MORTAR.
cute
Benefits over pic related?

none. all these fancy mortar systems go nowhere because they're shit compared to light howitzers or traditional mortars
did you find a job yet dennis?
LAVs are not IFVs
the troops an armored reconnaissance varient might be able to carry are for scouting
too expensive so we made our own
