why has there never been a proper assassination with a weapon made out of ice?

why has there never been a proper assassination with a weapon made out of ice? A ice knife, a knife of ice, all of that should be able to work to kill someone. Maybe a crossbow bolt made out of ice? Just get it out of the fridge, and that should be enough.

Isn't there also this mix of ice and sawdust that might do the trick?

no evidence left on the murder weapon, cuz it melts away before the cops get there. Stealth kill, right?

Why not a rock? It doesn't melt away but it's a rock, it doesn't tell them anything about who held it.
You could even use a knife so long as it's not a particularly unique one and you bought it in cash

        >"Looks like he was stabbed, sir."
        >"Do you see the knife anywhere?"
        >"No I guess the killer took it with him"
        Wow, truly an incredible advantage.

By the time we had the technology to make ice knives we had guns, poisons, and bombs. It's fair easier to kill someone with those than a knife.

By the same virtue, a bomb destroys the murder weapon.

probably because in real life it's a pants on head retarded move. you can't expect to kill someone with an ice knife because of how brittle ice is and the propensity for it to melt. how do you forge an ice knife and then kill someone with it fast enough that it retains its structural integrity

bring a insulated suitcase, fill it with ice and a separate cold section for your knife, then sneak up and stab them in the neck and GTFO with no physical evidence

do you realize how dumb and outlandish this sounds when anyone can do the same thing with a $5 bill and a nearby gas station for a knife that you can then just bury an hour away

okay, what about an ice crossbow bolt though, same setup, except now it's ranged and no one can trace it back to you. Just don't miss, and you're good.

structural integrity of a bolt of ice. when icicles kill people it's because they weigh 50 pounds and fall 20+ feet

ice is unsuitable as a material for cutting or stabbing

              >ice is unsuitable as a material for cutting or stabbing
Ice gets stronger the lower the temperature is. The things you take out of your freezer and put in your drink are very much unsuitable, since even when frozen they're not far from melting, it's like how red-hot iron gets softer. If OP was willing to fashion his ice knife and then keep it in liquid nitrogen until he was ready to use it, it'd be strong enough to use as a weapon. The giant insulated glove he'd need to not give himself frost burns would be a bit of a problem, though.
