Why has Hamas mighty drone arsenal proven to be such a dud?

Why has Hamas mighty drone arsenal proven to be such a dud? IIRC only 1 instance of them being used inside Gaza exists when they were hyped as a game changer

Because this is what happens when drone memes come up against the reality of fighting a capable modern army.

Differences in ISR and scope between Ukraine and Gaza also. In Ukraine you can test new radio links deep inside the Russian interior and the Ukrainians won't be able to work on countering it until it arrives on the front, in Gaza the IDF has had SIGINT units pointed at every building for a decade. In Ukraine you can use drones heavily in one part of the front and not much in other parts while the EW/counter-drone units need to move around, in Gaza they're always right there.

Honestly they probably tried to use drones but were either thwacked by tanks spotting them coming out of tunnels/"hiding" in buildings, or managed to get a drone airborne, got located by EW units, then hit by an Apache guided onto their position.

Gaza is what it'd look like if several US divisions were focused on leveling one city, Ukraine is what it'd look like if the US Army was spread across half of Europe and your "mighty drone arsenal" was focused on a random field occupied by a random rifle company.

so if hamas had the same access to intel as from 20+ countries you think that they wouldnt have used them ?

Probably because they're too old fags and didn't get many of them.
idk if drone operators are located and acked too quickly

Drones need power and internet to work. Why do you think Israel is going to such lengths to deprive Gaza of both?

It does need internet if you want them to actually operate beyond the remote range

I wonder how many children's lives could have been improved with the money spent on those drones.

Hamas flat out said it’s the UNs job to take care of Palestinians and they don’t bother with it

All they do is focus on killing old israeli ladies and getting rich in Qatar

Basically a years long EW campaign preparation and relatively small area coupled with jamming= drones are fucked.

Looser ROE and air supremacy help too. Hook your drone terminal up to an antenna on a roof with a 50' cable all you like, it won't help you when the 2000 lb JDAM hits.

It must be very frustrating for Hamas this war when their old tactic of sitting on top of an orphanage and shooting whatever you want at the israelites doesn’t work anymore. Now the israelites just say fuck it and blow you to paste kiddies and all

I would also add that Hamas has virtually no way to replenish its stock of drones. As we've seen in Ukraine stockpiles of drones get rapidly depleted. By some estimates a brigade may go through over 1,000 drones in a month. Russia and Ukraine both have actual industries and supply chains that can replenish stocks in a way that is simply unavailable to Hamas. Even still, both sides constantly complain about a lack of drones. Who knows what they actually have left available to use.

Israel has jammed the area to hell and back, urban warfare makes it easy to hide from drones, dense volumes of fire from large numbers of soldiers and vehicles concentrated in one place will bring them down, though specialized anti-drone weapons/optics are also not out of the question.

      >when they jam your drone and steal your footage

It's not a good environment. The vastness of Urkaine allows drones to be launched from concealed positions away from the enemy and travel across open fields with a good signal. Niether side can fully surveil what the other is doing behind its own lines. Meanwhile Gaza is tiny and Israel has complete air supremacy. If it sees a drone go up from a certain position it can very quickly strike it.

How do you know its not? Both sides have drones, and it's not like it's easy for the terrorists put out footage while having all communications blacked out.

there's drone strikes in gaza all the time just not hamas

theyre mainly done by kohav (~500kg payload) and zik (~150kg payload) fixed wing drones and also smaller multirotors on the street fighting level.

for example pic related was used in many drone strikes in gaza and a standard kit has 1 guy carry 3 of these on him
