Because 10 millimeter is a meme chambering that serves no purpose not better served by already-existing, less expensive and more common chamberings, and the only reason you care about it is because of PrepHole

You really think people buying that gun are going to be concerned with a 10cpr difference for a pistol cartridge? Are you for real?

Don't forget the opportunity cost of meme chamberings, which is often much higher than their actual costs

Yes, it means all of the time and money and production spent on 40 S&W Long +P could've been spent on 45 or 9mm and reduced the ammo cost substantially for the latter cartridges which people actually buy and shoot

It's a better 45 ACP, higher capacity and power. That and with AP rounds 10mm is actually worth a damn against armor compared with the alternatives.

        Anonymous

        >it's a better 45 ACP
With ten times worse ammo availability and ammo selection, 100 times worse firearm selection (see: OP), twice the price, with no noticeable difference on humans (chambering literally doesn't matter for self defense scenarios and this is not up for debate), high blast and noise unlike 45 ACP.
If you absolutely have to hunt with a autopistol then 10mm is probably okay but why the frick do you have to hunt with an autopistol and 45 +P or Super will do the same job on the whitetail?
Please just stop buying into memes, ammo availability is already bad enough and there are enough meme chamberings already

Because we should be collectively switching off from 45 ACP in-general and moving to 10mm as le heavy autopistol caliber.

          >ammo selection
literally doesn't matter since any 10mm projectile will out-penetrate and out-cavitate its 45 ACP counterpart of equivalent weight

I dunno I can carry 16 shots of magnum revolver performance cartridges in 2/3rd the size and weight as a 6 shots of 44 magnum so it's pretty great for a woods gun. Also you're gay.

Never in the history of the human race has anyone needed 16 rounds worth of 44 Magnum. Not even literal, actual soldiers have a use for that gun. That's how much of a meme it is.
Just admit you like novelty and 10mm isn't actually better, it was just the particular thing you personally chose to stave off the boredom that comes with life in an industrial post-scarcity society.

I'm guessing it's because 10mm isn't actually as in-demand as online discussions would make you think, and most people who want a 10mm handgun already own one and would not be expected to go out and buy a new one. Especially not at $2500-$3000.

Even fricking Ruger offers a 10mm 1911 but these homosexuals don't.

I think it comes down to there being different markets for different products. The kind of person who wants a 10mm handgun is probably outdoorsy and wants it for large animal defense. I can't imagine that there is a huge crossover of people who want a 10mm handgun and are also willing to pay three grand for a pistol that's going to see a lot of dirt and rough use.

The Staccatos are great for the price. You get fairly well done ignition, tight fit on the slide and barrel, good reliability. 10mm is another beast. First off, 10mm already have tons of issues with 1911s and need lots of work to be reliable. So even if we ignore making it double stack, they would need competent gunsmiths to work longer to make something that isn't an unreliable piece of garbage. Then, to make it double stack, they'd need to make new magazines which probably would be a nightmare tooling wise with an expensive upfront cost. Even more tooling, training and fitment to perfect the actual design.

Most people won't buy a 10mm, so it's likely that they see it as a lot of effort for nothing.

As far as 2011s go, they offer quite a lot for their price.
It isn't the sort of thing that caters to poor people, or people who think everything that can fire a 9mm cartridge is the same.

Staccato is a company that makes competition pistols and then dresses them up as duty pistols. The 10mm cartridge is a strict duty round that has no advantageous position in any common shooting competition, so I doubt that Staccato will be making a 10mm option.

Lol, for that price, it would hope it's great. It had better be the best damn pistol I've ever shot.

For the price of a staccato you can get even better meta options for competition. Even with limited optics (the 2011 red dot division) you still have people taking the same carry optic setups with cz shadows except with a magwell
