Why dont the ukies just mass produce V-1s with industrial scale?

Why dont the ukies just mass produce V-1s with industrial scale? It would be easy to modernize the V-1 desing, reducing warhead size to 400 kg, removing heavy lead batteries, analog gyroscopes and calculating systems to modern digital one, using simple inertial system and computing etc. This would give it more interior space to carry more fuel, so it could reach Moscow with ease.

Then just mass produce them in every metal shop and lauching 100 of them every day, targetting Kremlin. It would tie down RuAF, empty Russian AA-missile stocks and eventually one would hit the palace, turning day 500 of 3 day special military operation to new low for russians.

this si true, the bombings of hiroshima and nagisaki were actually the result of the largest covert operation in history, to fill several warehouses full of mining explosives in the middle of two Japanese cities. The atomic bomb was just a bluff to make people believe they could do it to the soviet union. Later on, after wasting a great deal of money trying to replicate this supposed "atomic bomb" the soviets detonated large stockpiles of unused ww2 ammunition to simulate nuclear explosions in an attempt to convince the Americans that they had figured out this supposed technology as well. All of the nuclear tests during the cold war were actually just countries coming up with more and more elaborate ways to try and trick people into believing they had figured it out.

if you have access to tens of thousands of high quality smart munitions its kind of wasted effort for the Ukrainian industry

    1. people rarely trust old designs even if it's objectively practical
    2. you don't want to hit Moscow, it'll give them all the reasons to go full Dirlewanger

Mostly because it's a labor/resource sink that does not appreciably reduce Russia's fighting capacity and may increase its pool of volunteer fighters while also risking western support since we got too homosexualy to hate our enemies properly any more. No one wants to see Russian civilians get some skin in the game more than I do, but it'd be a bone-headed move on Ukraine's part.

they aren't making anything on an industrial scale.
and because if they had almost no trouble downing those worthless hunks of junk with prop planes and ground guns in WWII it's going to fair even worse today and be a waste of man hours and resources.

      Anon, I...

And there is no cheap way to stop flying bomb. Just very expensive ones, like sending Su-27 or S-300 to intercept, and that costs money, spare parts, maintainance time, fuel and that S-300 or Su-27 is away from the real fight.

And oh there are 100 more coming tonight. And 100 night after that. Etc.

It's easier to just wait for gibs. You're idea is dumb, but apart from that, you would think Ukraine would be desperately setting up lots of weapon industries suitable for the basic sort of war they're fighting and to lessen their reliance on aid, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Even the drone guys have to resort to making their own improvised munitions to drop from their drones.

      >Even the drone guys have to resort to making their own improvised munitions to drop from their drones.
isn't that because most of the drones are too light to carry a rack full of mortar shells?

Yes, that's why Ukraine should be designing and churning out their own munitions, instead of having the man in the field waste their time making their own out of cans and ball bearings.

    >why don't X just do X
That's a really good idea anon. Or instead of researching a 100 year-old wunderwaffle unguided rocket you can buy a hobbyist drone for 150 dollars at Best Buy and staple a coat hanger to an RPG below it and acquire a thousand times the accuracy and lethality

      >instead of researching a 100 year-old wunderwaffle unguided rocket
The V-1 was technically guided, it just had the peculiar terminal phase of using dead reckoning and a timer to initiate the dive.
What I'm saying is, you'd be able to have INS/GPS guidance on a V1 without added cost.

Because ukraine is following nato doctrine of hitting specific chosen targets with definite military benefits. Just 'hitting moscow' wouldn't really achieve much militarily beyond giving putin political cover for full mobilisation and even use of nukes in response. Even building shitty v1s is a serious effort, especially to do at scale, when 1 precise modern munition can achieve the same effect dozens of these would need
