Assuming science bullpup bullshit it'd make sense for the bullets to initially be backwards so they only have to rotate once. It's easier to just say they didn't think of how the guns they were designing would actually work and just "what looks cool".
These fricking meme threads are starting to trigger me... Here anon quit being a colossal fricktard incapable of imagining how to google bolt carrier designs. Despite it being all fantasy anyway, this is how anyone could make this shit design work.
Want an impossible gun design? Here. This is an impossible gun design.

Are these meant to be actual bullets fired from magazines? I thought most of the guns in Destiny fired sci-fi lasers so the magazine is more like a battery pack. Haven't played the game so I don't really know what the lore is behind their version of sci-fi
It’s implied in that game (destiny) that all the weapons fire programmable matter unless explicitly stated otherwise (like the hakke branded weapons).
This part of the setting has been watered down by an almost complete shift to actual fantasy instead of science fantasy.
But yeah essentially the magazines are just power cells that resemble firearm magazines for aesthetic and bushido reasons.
Oh who am I kidding anyone asking this question doesn’t care about the real answer.
Where does the trigger to firing pin mechanism for actually firing the bullet go
electronically primed ammo.
it seems impossible to have a magazine that loads into the breech behind the trigger.
Emperor Calus does not need to explain to you plebians how it works

Can't wait for the design that has the mag just floating in the air
what game?
destiny2
Too many energy weapons in a space wizard setting to tell when it's a magazine or some kind of magic battery
what the frick.
>This is an impossible gun design
coil gun, battery in stock

Literally a DMR from Reach.

Turns out that magazine is actually a battery and the gun shoots...I want to say "plasma".
Seriously, this little animation with a bullet doing a backflip is just too funny

That gun is actually some kind of energy rifle. the magazine is really just a battery.

Kek, so true.
However, thanks for the answer, Bungie used to know about guns so knowing this helps.
My question is why would you waste all that time making it?
