why aren't soldiers in battle given a pistol? What if you're about to reload then a enemy shows up on your right and you quickly reach for your pistol only to realize you weren't issued one

Yeah

a homosexual as usual
The 10 other dudes you're with shoot him.
came here to write this. it's not a single player fps op you fricking moron. you are not a lone wolf (or if you somehow end up the last man standing you run, die, or surrender depending on circumstances).
they preoccupied or you've been seperated
Then a pistol wouldn't have helped you anyways.
Then you've fricked up and are going to die if you can't kill them with your multi-tool. Never NEVER leave your battle buddy.
Then you're a fricking moron and deserve to die.
I think the French were standard issuing a side arm with their coalition forces in the middle east.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone besides an MP or an officer wear a sidearm though.
throw your knife at him
frenchbros... we got too smart
>416's
>SCAR
>not 417
it bothers me
Why? Only the marksman needs the bigger bullet
No I mean, they all have 416's instead of the DM who has a SCAR, instead of having a 417 to fit in with the 416s. It could have been nice and matching especially since they already had 417s
I assume they already had SCARs.
Looking at when they adopted both, they bought like 2000 SCARs in 2019 and the HK416 entered service in 2022
I can find reports of them using the HK417 since around 2013-2014. and it seems the SCAR-PR is replacing the FRF2 so they probably aren't fulfilling the same role.
I'm gonna have to call the graphic into question at this point without any cited source backing it up. I presume the SCAR is meant to be at platoon level and not squad level.
Are you the same guy who keeps his safety off because he almost shot a cat?
if you're in a situation where you can't reload then you won't be fast enough to draw your handgun
Remember, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading
You aren't a bar of soap and real life isn't a video game

I am more concerned why they aren't given rear sights even when they get pistols.
Also ask yourself if you would rather have a loaded M9 or for less weight would you rather have an extra 2x 30rd mags of 5.56?
they were up until like ww1.
pistols became the new status symbol when the swords were gone.
they would give the female staff ncos pistols and make the machine gunns carry A4s LOL.
