why are civilians so against a fully collapsed stock?

But actual soldiers always use a fully collapsed stock? Why do civilians extend their stock fully?

I extend mine about 2/3. Put the butt of the stock in the fold of your elbow, adjust it to size.

You don't even have a gun, do you?

Huh, never heard that, I'll give it a try. I assume you mean adjust it so the grip naturally comes to your hand?

i've never seen anybody extend it to the end. When wearing body armor it's more comfortable to use a shorter length of pull than normal. Also OP is trans

What the frick are you talking about? I never see it less than fully extended, except for when a small girl or actual child is at the range. I've never used it less than fully extended.

Yeah man, I've done my time in armor, and I've done my time kicking around MOUT town. Stock all the way out all the time every time. Well when them M4s came around before that it was M16A4 and the hard stock was just fine.

The armor makes it impossible to aim if it's fully extended

Everyone I've ever met, civilian, LEO, and military, loves having adjustable stocks. Because I'm old enough to have used M16s in Basic. It's a non-issue.

I roll with a full stock just incase I need to mortar the bastard. Plus i can keep a cleaning kit in the stock.

I'm a noguns, but, for me it's usually because I like the idea of owning guns as mechanical engineering/art/historical pieces, so I looooooove the sexiness of woodenstocks. But for more modern guns like ARs I wouldn't say 'no' to collapsible, but ARs are like the girls in my uncle's JAV collection: way too young for my taste. I'll save up for them when they've been involved in a few more wars.
