Northrop Grumman deserves F/A-XX because they have historically done most naval contracts and consistently delivered good products in that field. It's honestly a crime that none of our current fixed wing carrier based combat aircraft are Grumman/Northrop Grumman designs.
Everyone, you included, are arguing about aircraft models that YouTubers are simply including in NGAD videos because they have no other video clips to include. No one knows what the NGAD or FA-XX will look like or what features it will have.
>hinting
I rest my case. Still absolutely no idea what the actual plane will look like. We don't even fucking know what company is going to win the contract, so there are likely multiple designs still in the running. And usually once a design/company is picked, they make changes from there before prototype, testing ... and then eventual production.
Maybe, but they are still just protypes. The final designs always have changes to deal with production streamlining and challenges along with feature creep from the design team.

Right, but we're basically at the YF-22/X-35 phase. The broad strokes are going to stay the same.

Lockheed thinks they have the NGAD in the bag but rumor has it USAF likes Boeing's proposal better. Northrop seems to also be the defacto FAXX but again, Boeing seems to be coming for them too.
I don't care either way because it really wont matter when the war starts in the 2025/26 time frame. Space is where it all really matters now anyway and unfortunately for us, the Chinese are taking weaponizing space more seriously than we are.
A "6th gen demonstrator" was tested in 2020. Not an NGAD prototype per say.

A DARPA X-plane flew BEFORE 2020.
Northrup dropped out of USAF NGAD to focus on USN NGAD (F/A-XX). So they're the expected winner on that contract. That leaves Boeing and Lockheed for USAF NGAD and the rumor mill says they're preferring the Boeing proposal.
>i can't wait for all the plane girls they'll draw of this thing when the actual design is revealed
I'm looking forward to flying it in Ace Combat 8 or 9.
>primary lifting surfaces almost entirely rearward >incredibly long airframe >canards to give it some semblance of maneuverability
It's a lawn dart, plain and simple. It's meant to go fast in a straight line and lob BVR missiles. Nothing wrong with that, just stop trying to pretend it's an ultra-maneuverable air superiority fighter.
>year of our Lord O + 2023 >Chinese knock off of soviet engines produce visible trail of black smoke
The West figured this shit out back before the cold war, why can't the chinks do the same?
As a side note, the UK's Vixen drone for it's carriers and loyal wingman to F-35 is meant to be demonstrated at the end of 2024. Current thinking is that's it's the MQ-28 Ghost bat but could it be the FA-XX loyal wingman which would presumably enter service earlier?
NGAD = Lockheed
FA-XX = Northrop
Boeing gets shit because they are shit.
Cope retard Boeing is king of contract rigging and will receive both
NGAD = Lockheed
FA/XX = Northrop
Loyal Wingman = Boeing

This is good.
Boeing wins both contracts and proves everyone wrong.
Boeing will win both
Are the wings not too far back for the front end to enough lift? I'm assuming it would need canards

Lockheed has been pretty consistently hinting that their proposal at least looks similar to this tailless kite shaped one we've been seeing.

NGAD prototypes have already flown, haven't they?

wasted
those quints tho
>he doesn't know that this is a side view
>it's a twin seater
>one cockpit on each side
The fuselage is a lifting body.
Why is the watermark reversed?

whoever wins, we lose
The one with canards
canards look stupid
Lmao this is sped up to make it look like the J-20 can actually turn.
>J-20 is capable of making a low speed, low altitude turn
This post has convinced me that China is very powerful.

THE CANARDS THEY DO NOTHING!
F-22bros?
>his fighter isn't supermanueverable even with copenards.
Sad really.
>FAXX and NGAD
I just call them "the FAAG".

What if its elon who wins?
I want lockheed to have my baby
