The expert in the video lays it out: "No aspect of gun safety is dependent on the reliability of the gun. It's based on the operator ... You are the safety, not the equipment. There's a presumption that any piece of equipment could fail."
Hence, the simplest rule ever devised: Don't point the barrel at anything you don't intend to shoot, even if you're dumb enough to place your finger on the trigger before you intend to shoot.
What the fuck kind of reasoning is that
Even though you should be aware of gun safety, you shouldn't have to doubt the ability of your firearm to not go off when not in use. That allows us to continue to trust good manufacturers and let's us conceal carry in more efficient ways
That said, this dumbass cop was a retard with his trigger finger and shot himself
This, and too many people don’t get this - there’s a reason why range officers are so autistic about ‘don’t le point at what you don’t want to le shoot!’ If you point a loaded gun at anything and it goes off, even if your finger was nowhere near the trigger you still bear responsibility. That’s why Alec Baldwin is a murderer.
Lame excuse for bad equipment. Some products are just bad/dangerous compared to others. Sig is the new nambu.
Regardless there was still an aspect of negligence at play.
Alec Baldwin wasn't supposed to have a loaded gun. He may be negligent or responsible as a producer for cutting costs and hiring a shitty armourer, but he wasn't guilty of murder.
Pointing guns at people in an action movie is supposed to happen.
Why yes we do live in the post-capitalism phase. Everything is shit. Shig is in the wrong, their guns aren't safe to use. The only thing they make worth risking is the P365.
Outside of the video of the M17 going off when dropped during the army trials, I’ve not seen any video evidence of sigs going off on their own. Every example is just some idiot ND’ing and then blaming it on the gun.
How are you supposed to take a video of a gun going off by itself while in the holster? You cannot predict such a thing and record it. And if you could predict it, you would prevent it. It would be like a 1 in 10 billion chance that someone just happened to be recording you on video while the AD happens. [Yes, a gun going off by itself by mechanical failure or defect is an accident discharge, not a negligent one.]
If sigs just blast rounds off in the holster, there would be video of people in competitions, cops, youtubers, etc having it happen. Why aren’t there holes in everyone’s safe who stores a p320? Why doesn’t Daniel Horner constantly have ADs going into his leg?
Because if you want any sort of legal factual basis for claiming a product is defective, you have to be able to empirically prove and articulate how it is.
Some retard cop claims a P320 went off by itself and when people pull the gun apart, inspect and function check it and everything works like normal, it's basically he said she said and Sig wins.
This is just a guy claiming it went off on its own while he was holstering it. Zero evidence that the trigger didn’t snag on something as he holstered.
>no evidence
I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt because that’s one hell of a way to double down if he actually did ND but until there’s evidence idk bud
I gotta feel bad for the poor fucker they were pulling over. You know this dumbass yelling "It was me!" was the only thing that kept him from getting ventilated. >inb4 cops don't just go around shooting people
This guy was so ready to finally kill somebody he pulled the trigger before he was even fully out of the car.
>open thread because mildly interested >open video to watch what happened >video has commentators and is 10x longer than it needs to be >close video without watching >type this out >leave forever, triumphantly
The cop or manufacturer? Sounds like the cop. If he was a construction worker it would be written up as a workplace accident caused by improper operation of equipment.
I hate nu-Sig as much as the next guy, but this cop clearly shot himself.
To add to this, why the fuck does Sig not put some kind of trigger safety on their P320s? Glock does it, S&W does it, odd balls like Beretta and CZ do it. Hell, even cheap Turkshit Canik does it. I mean, that seems like a massive oversight. Arguably, this cop would have been significantly less likely to blast his leg if the had a trigger safety. Even if it was his fault, Sigs are still shit pistols.
You can install a safety with a cheap kit. I have one on my P365 thats the same kit. I think they have that because Massachusetts requires all handguns to have a trigger safety but I might be misremembering.
Trigger safeties don't do anything. I wish people would stop being sigs the moment a gun goes off. It's so fucking clear that these people having magic accidents are pulling the trigger themselves.
>put your goddamn booger hook on the trigger before it's even all the way out of the holster >ouchie the gun is defective
surprising rare sig w on this one
1,000% the cops fault. Also I don't know what the problem is with cops and drawing their weapons for no fucking reason. Just get the tag of the vehicle and arrest them at their residence. No reason they need to be attacking people and murdering people for minor traffic violations. Officer Rambo thought he was big man on block whipping that pistol out, absolutely SALIVATING at the chance to ventilate someone. He got what he deserved and I hope he flatlined.
I stopped watching the video in OP's post when the "expert" said Sig should fix the problem. I guess he hadn't heard of the voluntary (should have been a recall) fix of a lighter trigger and a second step in the sear plate. Any striker fired pistol that is fully cocked like the Sig should have either a trigger dingus or a thumb safety like the M17/M18. Glocks are only half cocked which when combined with trigger dingus is safer, but not idiot proof. We have all seen the Glock NDs on Youtube.
It was your fault for not fulfilling your duty as OP; if you had sucked some cock, everyone would have relaxed and the shoot wouldn't have happened.
Fuck siggers.
The expert in the video lays it out: "No aspect of gun safety is dependent on the reliability of the gun. It's based on the operator ... You are the safety, not the equipment. There's a presumption that any piece of equipment could fail."

Especially near your own nuts, Officer.
Lame excuse for bad equipment. Some products are just bad/dangerous compared to others. Sig is the new nambu.
>point gun at yourself
>get shot
>NOOOOOOO IT'S THE GUN'S FAULT
:/
What the fuck kind of reasoning is that

You are pointing a gun at yourself every single time you carry a handgun in a holster in almost every circumstance.
A gun shouldn't fire unless you pull the trigger
Just look at the picture OP posted, his finger is on the trigger you delusional gay
Previous replies to you have already stated the point so I just want to mention you are a homosexual
The bootlicking noguns are fucking furious at this post

Thats budgets though, a film has a limited budget so you gotta make do with what you have
>You are the safety, not the equipment
Dumb take. You AND the gun should be safe. Never settle.
>Never settle.
Yes, we should mandate smart guns now!
Unironically yes
No it's just defective equipment
Why didn’t Sig just copy the trigger safety like Glock or M&P?
Can't be made out of a single piece of Indian pot metal.
Audibly chuckled
Because they're garden gnomes
Why yes we do live in the post-capitalism phase. Everything is shit. Shig is in the wrong, their guns aren't safe to use. The only thing they make worth risking is the P365.
If it were a half competent civilian I’d maybe believe it was the guns fault but seeing as it’s a cop, 100% guaranteed he ND’d
>buying a gun designed by garden gnomes, and crafted by third worlders, to be used by gentiles
siggers deserve what they get
Why is his middle finger on the trigger.
How many instances of P320 accidents are just retards shooting themselves and blaming the gun, like here
Outside of the video of the M17 going off when dropped during the army trials, I’ve not seen any video evidence of sigs going off on their own. Every example is just some idiot ND’ing and then blaming it on the gun.
I know there was an instance in Canada with JTF-2 but afaik they didn’t have a correct holster and it went off when the trigger was caught somewhere
The M17 is not the same as the P320, and there's plenty of evidence of the later not being drop safe if it doesn't have the new parts that correct it.
>new parts that correct it
Mitigate to some extent. It will never be as good as anything that came with trigger dingus.

Here you go
>but there isn't a video of it happening realtime
That's an impossible standard to meet and you know it.
If it's just retards being retards, why don't we see just as many issues with Glocks, M&Ps, XDMs, etc.
We do though
This is just a guy claiming it went off on its own while he was holstering it. Zero evidence that the trigger didn’t snag on something as he holstered.

Cop
vid shows he pulled the trigger with his middle finger.
should not have hammered the hammer
>open thread because mildly interested
>open video to watch what happened
>video has commentators and is 10x longer than it needs to be
>close video without watching
>type this out
>leave forever, triumphantly
>Reaches for and unholsters his gun
>Accidentally trigger fingers
>omg I have been shot I could not have avoided this
The retard with his finger in the trigger guard
>use sig
>get shot
Yeah
The cop or manufacturer? Sounds like the cop. If he was a construction worker it would be written up as a workplace accident caused by improper operation of equipment.
lawyers
>point gun at self
>pull trigger
>blame manufacturer
>tell media that these guns are too dangerous for anyone but zogbots to own
>zogbots end up NDing themselves to death
Stop government overreach with this one crazy trick
I hate nuSIG so much it’s unreal
I hate nu-Sig as much as the next guy, but this cop clearly shot himself.

This. If anything, cops should all be using guns with manual safeties like the M17.
>Sig and retard cops get to duke it out over who is making the cop's own gun go off.
I miss Norm
>Based Sig takes out a cop dumb enough to ND himself
I don't see a problem here.
>put your goddamn booger hook on the trigger before it's even all the way out of the holster
>ouchie the gun is defective

Sig was in the wrong. Fuck zogbots, they are fat and useless and corrupt. This is one time the gun is actually at fault.
