Navy 100%, they seem determined to weed out all competent leadership both enlisted and commissioned until only morons who break things are left. See the Navy’s recent paperwork disaster for an example.

Okay defund your navy and embrace BIG CHINK wiener dumb morons. Army is the clear winner here.

The Coast Guard is the only one of those groups that's actually worth the money spent on it. They're also the only branch of the US military that I respect and wouldn't consider to be "zogbots".

    In order
    > Navy
Absolutely necessary branch, however the Navy is the most corrupt branch, and has the most incidents which destroy million/billion dollar+ equipment because of peacetime brain rot. I've seen cooks in the Navy throw out 80% of the food on a ship (totaling millions of dollars) with zero repercussion before, just because they didn't feel like cooking it, and the homosexual officers turn a blind eye. 5th Fleet is a cancer on this Earth.
    > Marine Corps
This branch genuinely should not exist, but the amount of money they receive is nowhere near the amount wasted by the Navy so they get a pass. It is the Army, but with less training capability.
    > Army
Absolutely necessary branch, but the Army has a lot of bloat now with various SOF and special purpose units, but is actively cutting the bloat (E.G. cutting down 3 entire SFABs) so I actually gained some respect for their bean counters. The waste at most levels seems to be stupid shit like Soldiers stealing chem lights or the occasional compass, and all the large suspected grifts end up punished in some way.
    > Air Force
Absolutely necessary branch, does not seemingly waste much money (inb4 muh 6 gorillion dollar hammer meme) and is the absolute strongest Air Force in the world 10 times over.
    > Coast Guard
Another necessary branch, and I don't really know enough about them to say that they waste any amount of taxpayer money. I imagine they should probably have funding greater than the USMC and a larger PR presence to get more recruits, because direct defense of borders and interception missions are cool.

    t. former Marine turned Army gay, close friends and family all over the other branches aside from the Coast Guard

The Navy is the most wasteful but most of the waste comes from their contracts and the higher ups lining themselves up for a cushy job in the MIC after retirement.
Some salty CSs tossing food out is merely a drop in the ocean that is Navy waste.

        > Some salty CSs tossing food out is merely a drop in the ocean that is Navy waste
That is my point. A handful of shitty cooks managed to waste millions of dollars just because they felt like it, and it's only a drop in the Navy's absolutely massive waste.

          Anonymous

Oh okay yeah we agree then. The culture of waste that permeates the Navy is almost baffling when you can say the cooks are wasting million of dollars in food and I shrug my shoulders because I’ve seen way worse.
Idk what can be done about it at this point, cause when I was in anyone who tried to make things better was shat on especially by the chiefs.
Actually, a good first step would be to get rid of the chiefs mess. It’s a stupid cult that drives out anyone competent.

Berillium-Copper alloy hammers, used around the liquid oxygen supply systems of aircraft because they are non-sparking when hit. Very expensive, used examples go for >$120 and new they were probably way more. And you needed an entire set of Berylco tools to service those aircraft, one of the reasons they are trying to phase out LOx in favor of molecular sieve oxygen generators on newer aircraft

The Space Force will have the greatest return on investment capita of any other branch in a few decades. Just look at how dependent Ukrainians were on Elon's satellite, how much seethe he caused the Ukrainians when he wouldn't let them use it in Crimea, and how much seethe it generated for the Russians when he let them use it again.

If there is no war, the marines have zero purpose. At this point with drones, the marines need to be integrated with the Army, but not the ~~*normal*~~ Army with the Black folk and spics, but a quasi-B team Green Berets.

    Navy/Coast Guard - Integrated
    Army/Marines - Integrated
Air Force - Is very necessary
Space Force - Will be very necessary soon. I think that the Space Force needs to be a fusion of glowie organizations that handle all intelligence/technology/NASA stuff - A super branch of the elite IMO

I think that Special Forces from all branches should be a branch itself. Sort of like the CIA's SAD, but the federal version.

      >I think that Special Forces from all branches should be a branch itself. Sort of like the CIA's SAD, but the federal version
This would make them worse. SOF are good because they have a conventional base, the reason Green Berets, Rangers, and Raiders (well, at least the 5 missions they've actually done) typically shit all over SEALs in actual combat is because their pipeline isn't completely adjacent to conventional grunts.

        Anonymous

Fair enough. I mean is the only thing that separates the SOFs are uniforms? PJs Berets and SEALS have to be competent in swimming, halo and languages to survive......so the missions are the only difference?

          Anonymous

          >is the only thing that separates the SOFs are uniforms
No, they have an intensely specialized training schedule, advanced schools, and mission set which is added on top of a high proficiency in conventional infantry tactics and shit like machine gun theory. If you make them their own branch entirely, they lose their infantry background. Most SOF start as regular grunts.

Haver they really dialed down the Marines? yeah I get that the Army trains more, but in my mind, the Marines are the "advanced Army"

          >Haver they really dialed down the Marines?
You are a victim of a massive PR campaign. We were unironically at no point better than the Army, especially the 18th Airborne Corps/Ranger Batt/Group.

Redpill me on the 6 gorillion dollar hammer.

Google "600 dollar hammer myth", PrepHole thinks the link is spam.
TL;DR the public and Congress are unironically moronic and can not read spread sheets or funding allocation beyond headline level, and thought the Air Force spent 600 dollars on hammers because they don't know what the word 'average' means in an average cost of overhead for items and overhead. Ironically, this is similar to how reformers currently think F-35s cost 400 gorillion billion dollars, when in reality they are cheaper than F-16s.

US Navy by far. Think of all the money wasted on shit like Zumwalts and the LCS they've poured money into over the years. All just to abandon them and go with projects they should've from the start like the Constellation Class.
Even worse when you realize the time aspects. Army and Marines doing field trials for some new rifles they'll abandon doesn't hurt nearly as bad as wasting literal decades of time, manpower, and manufacturing capacity to build meme ships that won't even see more than 5 ships each.

90% of a soldier’s time is wasted, most of the army should be reserves or national guard except for SOF and some QRF forces. But the Navy takes the cake for stupid, colossal wastes of money.

The Air Force and space force are actually pretty competent.

In the real world you need a standing army because "Lol I'll have one ready in a year or so, time out, hang on guys" doesn't work. Whether your Soldiers spend a few hours a day playing frick frick games doesn't really matter, the point is that you have a capable Army right now today.
