        Carry ammo for each?

Speedloaders for home defense, competition, and range day.
Speedstrips for actual carry, as they can be held directly flush to the body for easier concealment.

This. After seeing someone with a SW1917 at the range recently I would consider half-moon clips since they don't take up much room but you'd have to make a special pocket for them similar to the ones they issued with the M1917 revolvers.

I like both. Speed strips are for carrying ammo or reloading at your leisure while speedloaders are for quick reloads. Innawoods I carry 2 Safariland Comp IIs in a belt pouch and then 2-4 speedstrips in my jacket or pants pockets.

I prefer speedstrips for my single action revolver.

I prefer speed loaders. Despite people commonly saying that they're annoying to carry, I find that the watch pocket on jeans is perfect for a speed loader.

Have you ever considered using a magazine from a suitable semi-auto pistol as a speed loader?

        >Have you ever considered using a magazine from a suitable semi-auto pistol as a speed loader?
Hmmm... not a bad idea. My sa is a cheap .22lr, and I'm sure I can find a magazine that holds 20+ somewhere.

I heard about that on The High Road back in the day and it works pretty well. I have a .45 ACP Blackhawk and when I used to carry it, I kept a Glock 21 magazine with me. I've thought about seeing if a .44 deagle mag would work for .45 colt, but I don't really care much to test it out now.

How about a Kel-Tec CP33 Mag with the 17 round extension? Basically its like carrying a spring loaded box of 22 in a relatively slim and small package.

        I needed a reason to get a desert eagle magazine… and a 44

How does the magazine thing work? Just place the mag near the cylinders and thumb rounds in?

Yes. Just stick the magazine into the open loading gate and push the rounds directly into the chambers.

Wasn't there also a metal speed loader that started straight like a speed strip, but then coiled up when you pulled it from your pocket? It's not the CK ripcord. That one's polymer.

There is. Forget the name of it. I wanna say they're like 50 dollars a piece though. Not sure its worth it over a regular strip or speedloader.

I hate that they don't sell the standalone loaders. I don't wanna pay $50 for one just because it has an unnecessary, fancy leather pouch.

I have a pair of the 6 shot ones and tbh the advantages over a regular speedloader aren't huge
      >leather holster is wider than it needs to be, meaning not as slim as most wallets and not much slimmer than a speedloader (you can probably get a custom holder but the damn things are near 60$ so i'd like a good one out of the gate)
      >only in 38/357 so no variants for 44 or 45 🙁
      >one was a little rough out of box, had to really work the spring on last clip for a while before it could properly release the round.
But that being said it's a neat speedloader and little things can make a big difference in self defense scenarios (however unlikely a reload is)

Glocks and all other plastic guns. If you can’t neutralize a threat with 6 shots of 357 you deserve to lose the fight.

Speed loaders. I've seen people complain about carrying them in a pocket, but I've carried HKS and 5 Star speed loaders in my pockets without issue.

That said, these guys make very good speed strips, IMO.

    I like the K-Clips made by Zeta6.

Best of both worlds IMO. You get much less bulk than a speedloader while loading the whole cylinder, unlike a speedstrip.

Much less seems like a stretch. If you stick it in a pouch or your pocket, it seems like a pretty similar form factor as a speedloader to me. Maybe a bit less bulky at the base, but not by much. Then again I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I've always carried a semi.

neither. you would never have time to reload a revolver in an actual fight. carry 2 or more revolvers if you need a reload.
