Canonically the phaser's stun setting works by disrupting nerves, so yes it would cause all your orifices to dilate. They never talk about the implications though.

So it's basically like AR vs AK? 24th century fudds shout at each other over which one is better. Spoonheads being Russian and the Federation being American actually makes a lot of sense as well. I shall view the show differently from now on.

No it's more like comparing an early Vietnam-era M16 to an M1 Garand; one of them is prone to malfunctioning at the least opportune time but when it isn't it vastly outperforms the other in tactical application without completely negating a difference in user skill.

You didn't get to watch bordello of blood when you were a kid when this was on? I mean yeah that one episode when everyone thinks she's nuts and she's going to resign from start fleet then busts out kung fu moves definitely enhanced my crusher boner, makes up for the gay ghost romance novel episode and wesley.

Phaser has far more utility due their adjustable settings. But for pure lethality disrupters are the way to go as they literally rip out the bonds of your atoms if I recall correctly. Absolutely painful way to die and hard to treat if you dont turn to energy as disruptor wounds spread across the body like a domino effect.

Yeah distruptors start to rip apart your nervous system or something even if you just get tagged and not killed. Phasers are kind of in a magic science fiction area between stun and disintegrate depending on how much plot armor you have.

Honestly it's not fair to do just a tng thing they had hot women. Unless you want to include girls that look hotter with the facial prostetics like the klingon chic in voyager. I think everyone gets resentful of troi not wearing a uniform and getting special privileges until that one guy shows up for that episode and everyone resents him but he's still trying to do the right thing. Technically they're an exploration vessel and not military focused, but a hot chic getting special privileges to dress around in weird yoga outfits while you're 24/7 in some weird outfit without a lot of pockets should just annoy the living fuck out of everyone that has to work with them. It's like if it were a proper military I should be able to wear a kilt with my dress blues. It's just weird none of them ever have anything with them and wear yoga shit all the time. I mean cargo pants would I wear them outside work? Yes. Do I care if you wear them outside work? No. You're going on an away team with literally nothing other than what you can carry. I mean no wonder picard got abducted and tortured by the spoon heads. Also I had no idea that was suppose to be a spoon until I watched a documentary I just wondered why their face had a vagina on it. They seem a lot cooler when you know a back story of them being lizard people. It's easier to empathize with the lizard people we have being cunts and them having that cunt thing on their head.

      >4.7 MJ power capacity
My brother in christ, the specific vaporization energy of water is 2260 kJ/kg which would made it takes about 180 MJ to vaporize a 80kg human, so it's massively underpowered.

        Anonymous

An M16 has a muzzle energy of less than 2000 kJ. You'd be able to get more than 2000 shots off with the same energy as a 5.56mm round.

Feels like while in theory a Disruptor would be a more destructive weapon, most Disruptor rifles have lower max settings then Phasers which can be dialed up to function as anti-tank weapons while Disruptors are limited to anti-personnel ranges at most.

When Obama was running for the US Senate seat for Illinois in 2004, his Republican opponent was Jack Ryan, who considered an up and coming member of the party exactly like Obama, and people predicted it would be a hard fought election between two up and coming stars of their respective parties.
Except Jeri Ryan, (actress who played 7 of 9) was married to Jack Ryan and she revealed Jack Ryan dragged her to kinky Eyes Wide Shut tier secret sex parties and forced her to preform sexual acts against her will at them. They get divorced and what Jack Ryan did was revealed to the public. And because this isn't the Trump era where a Republican could do that and not suffer any consequences, Jack Ryan had to drop out of the Senate race where Obama proceeds to win in a ridiculously lopsided landslide by getting almost 70% of the vote.
This created a spring board for Obama to launch his presidential run and victory in 2008.

So in an alternate timeline, where 7 of 9 wasn't forced to give blowjobs to random rich conservative people at elite sex parties, we might not have gotten Senator and President Obama.

You are thinking of type 2 phasers. Those phaser models had a setting which allowed the user to fire disruptor shots instead of phase pulse shots. Its also worth noting that this was the highest setting and literally disintegrated the target. Despite this feature on a select phaser model which is regarded as being an antique in the current trek timelins, phasers are distinctly different to disruptors in their function.

both can shoot thing that incapacitates/kills on direct hit to people and causes heat/explosion/damage when shot at equipment. both iiirc can be 'hacked'/'overcharged' and turned into a bomb.

the only clear difference i remember is that disruptors can be set to disintegrate a humanoid target on their stock configuration where's phasers can at most kill

              Anonymous

Incorrect. Disruptors distinctly destroy on a molecular level while phasers burn. They have different mechanisms of action and disruptors by their own fucntion more lethal joule for joule compared to phasers. They are both sci fi beams just as full metal jacket or frangible munitions are just projectiles.
