France supposedly has some really good MRE's (RCIR). They would often trade at a ratio of five American MRE's for one French RCIR's. New generation Swedish rations are really good as well. Shittiest ones seem to be the Chinese ones were it's just noodles with noodles or energy dense protein bars.

Steve1989 said those energy bar mres are mostly for show since China needs to prove that they're up to par with the world by making space food rations.
If anybody ever deployed me with just powerbars, I'd start eating dead combatants.

All the better, fricking sick of stale mres with generic food in them.

          >MRE
          >generic

All MREs contents, aside from a handful of snack items and condiments, are literally made to order for the DoD rather than just being available off the shelf... that's like, the polar opposite of generic.

How is that not just superior to custom made MREs?
        >better flavor
        >better variety
        >probably cheaper

Lower shelf life, potentially harder to control quality across a bunch of manufacturers and if there is an issue then finding a replacement with enough production to actually supply all the needs through procurement can be a ball ache. It's honestly not a problem for a smaller country's army but it's annoying when you're a larger one.

            >potentially harder to control quality across a bunch of manufacturers
Bruh, that's europe, any factory making food its under a lot more scrutiny than any usa one. They use real olive oil for the caned stuff etc
Meanwhile the USA stuff is full of xenoestrogens.

          Anonymous

cans burst, all the packaging has garbage shelflife and will probably bleed smells. It takes up way more space per calorie, is harder to assemble to eat. Other than taste its fricking worse in every possible way. Also they have worse variety.

Some American ones were good. I lived off of them for seven months in afghanistan and I’d say chicken fajita or beef brisket were my favorite. Traded some for bong cardboard box rations and they were pretty bad.

Anon you don’t even know what a slide thread is. I concede that American MREs are the best in the world as far as nutrient dense and logistically prudent, but they don’t taste good

Meh, define "good". MRE's, IMP's, and ORP's are fine at first but after living off them for extended periods they can start to drive a man insane.

i dont mind them but they get more than 80% of their calories from carbs/sugars and theres like 0 fiber. and fairly low protein. theyd be a good choice if water was restricted but other than that i dont like.

you have never actually eaten an MRE before in your life

Singaporean MREs are up there for nutrient density and logistical competency as well. Conscripts are a bit spoiled and live IDF style with eating from hawker centres so they think of them as disgusting.

I took that from a YT vid but none of the BDP menus I had were remotely good.
People traded them with burger boots for MREs whenever they could, the MRE has so fricking many menus that it's pretty hard to get menu fatigue, meanwhile we literally had five menus and all of them were the same brown slop.
The only good things in there was the chocolate and the hardtack, and they stopped including the hardtack around 2018 or so and replaced it with these really shitty 'fitness' light corn crackers which weren't filling at all.
The 'vegetable mix' in brine (corn, peas, diced carrots) was unironically inedible, it just tasted like vinegar.

It fell off a truck and I ate it afterit got rat fricked. Someone probably tore it apart to eat candy out of it and and I made budget meal out of things they did tear apart sometimes boxes worth. If a box fell off my way the time, I could eat off it for a yearor two if it was just me and not like fricking fighting over my meal with rats the rat fricked it and tore apart the entire thing and would take what they like and throw the rest into some trash. I'll do trash details and have to throw away what they decideded wasn't good enough for them before they tore it apart and threw it away. It'll go into a dump where nobody makes use of it. Falls off a truck, I don't resell it it's my meal for the next month.

    For my men?

Pemmican, soup, snack bars, jerky, ham sammies, dates, deer/rabbit/hog/fish, p-nuts and trail mix, roots and berries, burritos, tamales, tacos. Canteens/bottles with iodine/filters for water. Real food. Made with love and packed away, caught wild at camp, or bought at the local grocery.

As for lodging, safehouses in rural and urban regions, moving camps in the mountains and caves, mobile campers, caravans, and trailers.

Things like liquor and weed vapes will be permissable in a limited capacity. No hard drugs, no drunks/junkies, no maricones. Fitness standards and a contract with scrip for the regulars. Honest and hungry work for my beloved American guerrillas, pockets full of pemmican deep within a dream.
