Which AR should I get?

Should I get a DI or gas piston AR 15?
Since DI just redirects gasses back into the receiver, I heard the fouling inside of it is pretty substantial and a pain in the ass to clean. And apparently it also suppresses worse because of that.
So, which one should I get? Been thinking about either a DD or an HK.

Buy a decent upper, whatever lower, light, sling, optic. Dress it up how you want and don't give a frick.

You push in two pins, even a braindead marine can figure it out. Saves you a few dollars you can spend on ammo/accessories. The lower really really doesn't matter so you end up paying $100+ for a rollmark and it may come with a stock you don't even like. So buy one that comes how you like and save the junk drawer from having something new rolling around in it.

OP is a frick tard that will probably be too lazy to clean his expensive gun he takes shooting twice in his life before selling to support his wife's bull's meth addiction. Frick tard cant be bothered to even CONSIDER building a rifle, let alone the easiest rifle to build. Hell most uppers are build, you just need basic tools to assemble the lower.

Imagine being this assblasted over some random's personal preferences on a mongolian goat milking forum. He's clearly buying his first AR so it makes sense he won't be building it himself and he's asking whether he should get a DI or a piston gun.

Go back to gatekeeping rebbit or something.

People overhype pistons. Stoner knew what he was doing, no meed to Black person rig it into something it ain’t. HK is the only credible piston AR, so if you’ve got that kind of money, knock yourself out.

ok, ignore everyone here, they're all being autistic

you want a PSA, Palmetto state armory, it's the best option for value, might want to buy the lower and upper separately (it's incredibly simple to put them together, no tools, just push in pins)

something like this (https://palmettostatearmory.com/blem-psa-pa-15-16-nitride-m4-carbine-5-56-nato-classic-ar-15-rifle-with-13-5-m-lok-rail-black.html) would be an excellent option

Their quality control leaves something to be desired but they have excellent customer service

the other things you want, is a flashlight, best value is streamlight, (https://www.streamlight.com/products/detail/protac-rail-mount-hl-x) and a red dot, there are many options for red dots but a sig romeo 5 (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=sig+romeo+5) is the best option for the lowest cost, holosun also makes good products

remember that money spent on accessories and ammo are vastly superior to money spent on a ever so slightly better rifle, you hit the wall of diminishing returns very fast

oh yeah I forgot to mention, piston is not worth the money or hype, don't bother

And they are less accurate and wear the sail out faster due to bolt rotation. Di' the bolt blows back straight and true.

A "piston" gun fouls in a smaller chamber. Also the fore end gets hot as frick in just a few rounds, Get that Vietnam boomer shit the frick outta here. The di gun contains the heat in the chamber which dissipates heat faster due to surface area.

So, what's the best DI gun to get? Money is irrelevant and I am not going to build anything myself.

      LMT MARS-L or KAC SR-15

It has a barrel swap system like the MCX, so it can do either DI or piston. New Zealand adopted the quadrail DI (boomer) version while Estonia adopted the piston M-lok (zoomer) version.

Black person, buy a cheap gun and then spend the rest on ammo

              Anonymous

Personally I bought the New Zealand reference rifle, but I don't think that exact configuration with the offset bayonet lug is made anymore. LMT is generally cheaper (although still expensive), and KAC is harder to actually find in stock. LMT also has the barrel swap system if you want to go to other lengths or calibers, and it has a true monolithic upper receiver if you care about that.
