      Most powerful? Egypt or Ethiopia.
      Most elite? Rwanda.

Probably Egypt who's been putting a shitload of funding into their military to prepare for the inevitable conflict with Ethiopia. South Africa has the best special forces units in Africa but the rest of it's military is decaying and has had it's funding cut every year and and will continue to have it cut for years to come to the point where it might not even be relevant.

      Egypt

      Egypt.

      Egypt

Egypt is on paper really good but I have a feeling they're a paper tiger military on the scale of Russia. No agricultural surplus capacity and a truly staggering level of corruption within the military/government dynamo. Meanwhile they're wasting inordinate volumes of wealth making new capitols here and there rather than trying to irrigate more of the desert or establish agricultural sustainability again.

Nigeria will also have a larger population than the US by 2100, by a good margin. SSA just passed a billion people but will have more people than all of Asia by 2100. 1:2 people under 18 will be African then.

Since developed industries have low rates of return, expect a lot of investment focus to shift their. But also they have very weak states, incredibly young populations, incredible poverty, and they're about to get fricked by global warming. Unfortunately, this has "war and crisis," written all over it.

There will also be massive out migration, to Europe particularly, but everywhere. 2015 will look like a trickle. The US border will look like a trickle. 2 million moving in a year? Imagine 200 million. The population difference will be that large

It's pointless to predict demographics 80 years from now, so many radical changes will happen between now and then. Imagine someone from 1910 predicting the demographics of Europe in 1990. Think about how wrong they would be. That's what you're doing.

          >Believing in future population estimates almost 100 years into the future
          Lol, no

Actually, demographic predictions after decent statistical methods developed have been pretty on point. Barring major wars, disasters, or epidemics, they've generally hit their admittedly large margins of error since after WWII, 70 years.

Birth rates fall as countries develop, and there is now tons of historical data to help with modeling. Even the low end projections have Africa exploding, and it's not hard to see why. Some countries have a median age of 14, half the population is under that. Developed countries are more around 40. Women are still having a large number of children.

Drop offs in number of births lag development. The social changes of even breakneck development, like Korea or Japan, still don't hit the first generation that hard in terms of reproduction, nor often the second fully. So the combo of rapidly living life expectancy and just a population of a billion having 5 live births per woman already means massive growth.

Religion is also protective against falling birth rates, and Islam appears to have a stronger effect. Africa is very religious with a large Muslim population. On top of this, both Christians and Muslims still restrict any access to birth control in wide areas.

What is extra crazy is that US right wing fundied actually put a lot of money into keeping birth control banned in Africa. They can't do it at home so they do it there. But they'll also cry when 8 million Africans, now wealthy enough to travel, try to settle in the US because weak states and climate change make their country unlivable.

Aside from migration effects, developed countries have also had good accuracy in predictions.

            Anonymous

No religion stands up against the biggest god, Comfort. Look at second-gen immigrants from both staunchly catholic and muslim countries to the first world. Their birth rate plummet to nearly identical level as natives have.
Beyond that, to put it all on lack of contraceptives/religion in Subsaharan is a just too "scientific" view on it. People there just like to frick, anon. And whatever you claim microplastics, shitty diet, sedentary lifestyle or some conspiracy, it does not change a fact that when African girl ovulates and you coom into her, she WILL get pregnant, while back in the first world, couples often have to put great effort into getting lady with a child. Put 1 and 1 together.
I've worked in Kenya for a long time. Majority of women can get on the pill, there are free (!) rubbers available everywhere too. But for numerous reasons they simply don't care to use it and will often get angry/sad if you even mention it.
This is only "fixable" if you again start implementing comfort. Put it bluntly, when there are other things to do than just fricking. When I was in Kenya in 2011, local birth-rates were around 4.5. Now they are around 3.5 - that is after only after some 11 years of rather gradual progress.

Muslims and communists will always destabilize Africa. They can't even get basic agriculture accomplished. Sending foriegn aid only funds the war lords. France trying to maintain a presence there is basically the biggest reason why Africa keeps getting the problems it does. Africa does not want Europeans in it. They prop it up enough and beg their allies to send relief to fund the muslim crusaders that sweep through the region unimpeded.

Neither of those states has a surplus agriculture to feed the population they acquired. These people can't feed themselves, they're not going to march into another area and feed twice as many hungry mouths. They're going to destabilize the region, have angry hungry people dying blaming them for it. Redistributing the land as if you're rome circa 2000 years ago doesn't work homosexual

Will argue for Nigeria and Ethiopia, possibly South Africa if it brings itself to recover from its economic tailspin. If Nigeria continues successfully with anti-corruption policy and economic development it's poised to become one of the world's larger countries and single economies, while also having credible threats to spur effective military force growth in the northern Islamist insurgents. Ethiopia is in a similar boat, should it be able to get its damned dam built. South Africa is in one of the best starting places but needs to not undergo state decay due to internal strife.

Rwanda is in the upper echelon of current powers, but is limited enough in growth potential that I doubt it can surpass any of the really big boys if they stabilize. DRC is in the opposite situation, big enough to sustain vast power projection but starting from a bad enough spot to make its growth/recovery prospects tenuous.

If the East African Federation project ever granulates it has a lot of potential, but that's a very big "if."

And money can do that. The money is spent to make an army that can control the people and potentially invade others. Rwanda is basically an in-land Singapore, kinda a trading hub.... could be possible with 20 years odd of spending to get a military to grab it.

Economically speaking, first subsaharan country that will probably "make it" in near future is Kenya, followed by Ghana and Tanzania. Staying in these countries is already extremely comfy even longer-term, not to mention they are fairly safe and offer first world tier luxury if you want.
Since economical prosperity is fairly good factor in quality of military, I would say one of these three. Of course, there is also a China who could be used in this regard in that "consent" meme, but that is a whole another question.

If you stick to their capitals or second largest cities and you are ready to shell out some cash (but still pretty cheap to travel and stay in) you can easily live in pretty much same way as in any western capital. Same safety, same luxury. Picrel is Accra, Ghana. Then again, that kinda defeats purpose of travelling to subsaharan if you ask me. But the fact it is possible, shows that some tremendous progress were done in roughly last ten years.
There are still whole lots of issues and whole lot of places that are dangerous to visit after dark, but I am pretty optimistic about the future of those countries I mentioned.

Kenya for tight athletic young girls, Ghana for thick mommy tier women with fat breasts. Both also kinda-sorta English speakers. But as it is Africa, most common type is a girl with insanely hot curves and terrible case of a butterface. Still, plenty of hot girls around, but you have to look for them. Try it out, if you have a Tinder account, set your passport to Mombasa, Nairobi or Accra, give it hour or something and you'll have 20+ likes lining up.
As for personality, I think most are fairly fun to be around, lively (like to frick a L O T, like to go out, eat, just live), quite bubbly often. Also terribly fricking jealous to the point of physically assaulting with other women who just looked at you for a few seconds longer than what is allowed, will stalk your ass too and are prone for making drama - not because they would like to make your day bad or they had something against you, but because it is fun. Being fairly trad is kinda common too, I remember one girl being severely insulted with me just asking if she needs help with cleaning up the kitchen.

Despite being a shitshow its still South Africa and will continue to be South Africa for a very long time.

Its the only military on the continent that can kind of do the things modern militaries do - quasi netcentric warfare, proper encrypted long range comms, modern gear, a genuine coherent doctrine that is frequently practiced. Thinks like a SF submarine action group, comprehensive pre-deployment training programs, a genuine airmobile formation, decent long range guns, modern-ish SHORAD and a recent move towards bespoke BCT's.

Sad thing is that with slightly more spending and a little less corruption and South Africa could be one of those awesome binland-tier militaries who are absolute masters of a very specific kind of warfare. That aside they stand head and shoulders above anyone else in "black" Africa (obvi. the North Africans are on a whole other level).
