Think they're taking a break today, seems to be very little activity according to FIRMS
Orange is the typical frontline shelling we've been seeing, lower intensity than the past few months as it has been for the past week or so.
Yellow is a hotspot on the Ukraine side of the front. Bit strange, it's higher intensity than the Donbas front.
Red is the Nova Kakhovka strike from yesterday.
Blue in the sea is interesting, that got picked up at 1am GMT.
Lime got picked up in the same sweep, seems too small to be a depot though.
Purple lines up with the SU-34M crash that happened yesterday.
Anyway, the sats seem to sweep over the central area at around 12 GMT, so if there are any updates to be had it'll be then. This does line up with reports that Russia has moved Ammo depots to just outside of HIMARS accurate range, so I'm guessing they might be waiting on ATACMS.

      Anonymous

And what if they get ATACMS??? Russia is vast, they'll just move the ammo out of ATACMS range too. Also ATACMS can probably be countered by S400.

          >The Russians said that about HIMARS too...
The Ukrainians have reportedly been clever by putting up volleys including Tochka launches to flood the AD zones with targets. I don't know how smart an S400 targeting system is, if it prioritizes larger targets this would effectively mask the HIMARS warheads.

            Anonymous

Whatever the frick happened to modernized SPAAG's and CIWS-platforms. I was under the impression these platforms were pretty mature and in conjuction with an S-400 radar would be able to blanket an area in AA fire taking out whatever warhead is coming their way.

              Anonymous

I don't think the Russians have a C-RAM equivalent. They have CIWS on their ships like AK-630, but no land-based systems afaik.

ATACMS has an effective range of 300km. Ukraine would be able to cover the entirity of occupied territory from their controlled borders, and fairly deep into Russia too. I shouldn't have to explain the issue with having to move ammunition 300km or more with no depot stops in between.
And S400 couldn't stop Hinds over Belgorod, or a dinky little drone over Rostov. It'll be more susceptible to anti-air than M30/M31 probably, but I doubt by much. Wait and see I guess.

Bullshit. "Conditions" are to be "careful" using them, minimize collateral damage to non-military. But, any military target is absolutely valid, no matter where it is located. If there happens to be "some" collateral damage, too fricking boo hoo hoo. Russian civilians have the option of evacuating themselves from dangerous locations, just like Ukrainians had to.

If Russia has a sad about that, all they have to do is get out of Ukraine, cease all hostilities, and pay full compensation for all the damage, rape, and murder. A UN monitoring mission should also be put in place to take possession and control over all nuclear weapons. Russia doesn't get to keep its toys after this toddler tantrum. Forfrickingever.

Belarus is part of this negotiation and owes its own share for supporting Russia and using Belarus as a launch pad for missiles, aircraft, and other assaults.

The Russians are running out of depots, they've now switched to driving supplies straight from Russia to the gun crews on the frontline, you can imagine what that does to their efficiency and the lifespan of the trucks. It's why the Russian artillery fire had dropped off so significantly and they've opened up their last, anti-NATO cruise missile stockpile. No more "artillery only" for old Ivan. Just human wave attacks using the last of their 50-year old "reservists" with zero support.

Russia has less infantry than fricking Japan. No wonder since their demographics are just as bad and putin has maybe 10% among the country's youth, if that. bridges are tough frickers to destroy, so it may take some time. bridges are built to survive all kinds of stresses, to stay standing even when damaged and not totally collapse, and thus can be repaired. the bongs in WW2 used 10 ton earthquake bombs to attack viaducts, and even then often times the viaducts survived the blasts. the russians earlier in the war bombed some bridge near odesa with kalibr's, and despite repeated attacks i think the bridge is still up but damaged.

Correspondingly though, you also get a drop off in throw weight, road degradation, vehicle wear and other duress keeping weapons in ammo.
So if you move your depot was 20km away and have to move it 100km away to avoid der smooker, then it does tend to mean a much longer turn-around, given Russians have fricking awful trucks to begin with on really fricking awful roads its going to be stretching things.

It's not like the HIMARS are going to stop shooting nor is five eyes gonna stop providing targeting.
I wonder what they'll focus on once all the dumps are out of range. The artillery itself, armored vehicle parks, more command posts?

        Anonymous

Some things you're just not going to really change like command posts, if you push the command back 90km in the rear, then you're pretty much fricked when it comes to agility like getting reserves in, getting fire missions and anything remotely coordinated. That run on effect of having maybe more reserves of shells at the battery itself might mean counter battery fire gets kind of spicy and its not like you can really hide ammo dumps out in the open. They're fricking huge tonnage and anyone from orbit can see the extra traffic to-from locations if you did hide it under trees or some god forsaken barn out in the boonies.
A lot of their maintenance yards for heavy vehicles got yeeted to hell in a fireball too, so its getting really rough to run armour I'd imagine

It is standard procedure not to post results of strikes on your territory. That would allow the enemy to evaluate the strikes.
