The AR180? Why would you want it over an AR15/AR10?

Side charging handle, lower profile. Grip more in line with barrel. Because it's Kool. Why wouldn't you want it back?

        >Side charging handle
There are plenty AR-15's with side charging
        >lower profile
What is? Most practical dimensions are nearly identical
        >Grip more in line with barrel
Are you thinking of the AR-15?
        >Because it's Kool
        Only correct comment

Only good reason to own one. Otherwise everything else is pure cope. AR-180 was shit and made for third worlders. DI will always reign supreme over piston guns.

Its got 165 more AR per rifle.

The gas system is objectively better aswell and allows for a folding stock.

Gas impingment is more reliable and has the added effect of maintaining some positive pressure in the reciever while shooting, keeping debris out. That's why AR15 variants are great in the sand while shit like the sa80 line (ar180 clones) and FAL are horrible. Gas impingement has also been proven to perform better than ar180 variant (take ar15 vs k2 rifles) with increased round count. The fine carbon the builds up in an AR15 receiver stops at a certain point(remember positive pressure) and acts as a dry lube (basically like graphite lube). I cleaned my AR once in 7 years after thousands and thousands of rounds and the dirtiest part was the compensator. Inside just had a fine carbon layer and was very smooth to operate. I still love the AR180 design and think it has the potential to scale better with modern designs (think full polymer/ 3d printed upper and lower). I am a Mech.E and am currently doing just that as a side project.

The FAL only have a bad reputation in the sand because the Israelis were too lazy and undisciplined when it came to maintaining theirs.

That's exactly my point, gas impingement avoids that issue all together. While the AR design still needs oiling, it isn't as reliant on it for smooth operation as piston guns. You ever see people lubricate their piston assembly in short/long stroke systems? No, because the carbon protects the surfaces much like inside the action of the AR design.

You should be glad it's not graphite.

Whatever carbon chains come out of the chamber may not be hurting, but you're also not doing the parts a favor running dry.

        >gas system is objectively bette
Lmao is it mid 2000's again? You know pistongays made that all up because AKs were cheap and they wanted to turn their poorhomosexualry into a virtue?

You can shoot it suppressed for longer round counts and not be gassed the frick out as you would be by an impingement gun. Also you can fire it with the stock folded if you're using it from a vehicle.

Why don't you go to a dealer or gun show that has one and handle it before you simp so hard? Actually pick one up and you'll understand implicitly why they went the frick away. I know the BRN180 isn't as s0vlfvl and le aesthetik as the "real" thing, but its a fundamentally better rifle.

I bought my early build Costa Mesa AR-180 with a bunch of magazines for $900. Everyone else can go frick themselves because I got mine.

The BRN-180 upper and lowers are close enough unless you're made of money.
