when i apply the appropriate amount of pressure to the trigger, the only thing felt is a slight impulse of recoil from the rapidly expanding gasses

Anon...the recoil impulse stems from the projectile. The recoil forces the gases generate are so small, that they can be neglected.

Imagine just how many people have been filtered by that question. I think you guys generally overestimate the intelligence of your fellow man.

They aren't actually answering the question. They are just speed clicking through the assignment. Granted they are still morons.

        you are fricking wrong
        what moves the projectile? gasses
but even worse, barrel and projectile only interact with radial forces during firing (rifling ) and at most small force that SLOWS the projectile and thus DECREASES recoil
you are dead wrong and anon was right
gases both propel the projectile and generate recoil
        go back to skool, kiddo

            are you merely pretending?
gasses push projectile and projectile pushes back at gasses
this is newton law of reaction

Fire a muzzleloader with a full charge of powder with and without the bullet and see the difference in recoil

when the trigger is actuated via my finger's pulling movement, the only effect effected upon me is an impulse of recoil produced from rapidly expanding gasses (and a moving mass) within the chamber

my airsoft firearm has no recoil, all I feel is the fear of my opponents as I slaughter their squad around them

      airsoft cannot be firearms
      air is not fire
what if you combined air or something with fire to create a bigger explosion
