What's your favorite caliber and why? For me it's 38 special because I shoot it often and it was the first chambered in the first gun I ever shot

    10mm Auto.
I like its sheer power while still having a small-ish diameter that allows high cap mags without too bulky grips.

.22LR is my favorite in terms what I shoot the most. I don't have a lot of land, so small bore is my go to for precision shooting. Favorite for fun is 12ga, because I love shooting trap and sporting clays. Favorite for cool factor is .45 Super. I like slinging 230gr slugs at 1400fps out of my USP Elite.

longer effective range than a bolt action .50 cal. It can kill probably anything that has ever walked this earth from 1000s of yards away. One of the best tools we've ever created.

I also enjoy modern warfare 2. I am training to lunge like the commando perk because knives are instakill and that way I won't have to practice at the range I can just knife lunge

For handguns I like the .45 Anti-Colored Person and the .38 Segregation Protects Lives.
The .45 ACP because it was designed specifically to erradicate brown "people" after our experiences with the .38 short in the Moro Uprising on the Flip-flop Islands.
The .38 spl because for 70 or so years it was used to stop needless coonery by wops, micks, Hispanics, and nigs.
Truly cartridges designed to maintain civilization.
    In a rifle, I prefer the .308 and 5.56.
Both of these were made to kill communists, and killing commies should always be a high priority.
They also killed or maimed many brown and yellow monkeys over the years, which speaks to their benefit.

I'm a fan of the humble .38 special, especially the old FBI load from Underwood. I'll pocket carry a S&W 442, or as a back-up to my full-size primary.

      .38 special baby

      >naturally subsonic
      >can load it hot for +p
      >can shoot it from a revolver
      >can shoot it from lever guns
      >almost 9mm ballistics
      >whisper quiet suppressed
      >probably has a higher body count than any other defensive caliber in the 20th century
      >can shoot it cheaper and less recoil than .357 mag

Name a single more versatile and easily available cartridge

38 special is extremely underrated and also my favorite caliber. There's ammo for it out there that performs like the best 9mm loadings (regarding pen and expansion), it's easy and cheap to reload for, and you can make some awesome range/plinking powder puff rounds that kick like a 22 and in a pinch can still work for self defense. Also if you have a .357 revolver you can load .38 special pretty close to .357 levels. It's such a good all around round and if revolvers were more widely used today I think it'd be the go cartridge even today.

That being said I'm a IPSC/USPSA competition fag so I buy boatloads of 9mm

.38 special is the obvious winner

Landslide win. 38 Special confirmed for the most based caliber. 9mm LARPERs and nigglets, 5.7 nig mutt perm zoomers, 10mm compensating for something, and 45 aarp soon to die boomers on suicide watch.

I like .357. It's the perfect mix of being pleasant to shoot, while still having enough energy to be fun.

308 because it does everything I need and practice ammo is relatively cheap. I know I made the right choice because I keep noticing the clock when it's 3:08.

.357/.38 because wheelgun & levergat plus affordable plinking & practice. Accordingly, I'm also (mostly) happy with 9mm.

However, my true love is .41 mag. I just can't afford it (same reason I'm not invested in 10mm). It would be my one caliber solution if I could only have one, but I'd have a lever and a bolt gun in it plus two or three revolvers. Desert Eagle also had one of the best (if not THE best) .41 mag auto shooter ever produced. All that & a fat bank account, I would also be kitted out with a reloading bench populated with a lot of exotic options.

The only thing I don’t like is the price. But it’s gonna be what drives me into reloading. 454 is completely impractical for most purposes.. but damn if it isn’t fun as hell to shoot.
