What's with the recent influx of people calling their firearm a "weapons system"? Seems like there's a horde of supposed >ahrmee and >muhreens pushing it. Is this neverserved larp/stolen valor? I've never heard a vet that I know isn't full of shit, call a rifle that.

Probably something the marines coined and everyone felt they had to do the same.

This never has been true. It's some made up zoomerlore that stuck, there's plenty of things people assume fricks shit up, but the only ones that actually seem to trip up the bots is stuff like "Sexual Assault" or talking about pizza. Even that is limited and most people get around it.
Manual reviewing on the other hand is a complete gamble and good luck on convincing punjeeta that your video is good for the goys.

Its actually mostly to say suicide. Youtube really hates that word because of mental health, bullying bla bla. Basically they think if you can say the word suicide, a teenager starts cutting himself.

Shit is sometimes so irritating if you hear it said repetitively, otherwise it’s not that bad. I feel as though people like saying it in order to sound technical and it’s sounds cool like how “force multiplier” sounds cool. Military jargon. But there’s so many more efficient/descriptive terms you can use instead of “weapon system” that it’s kinda cringe.

It directly traces its roots in the "platform" idea.
The idea is that the gun is just a base, or a system of systems, onto which other systems attach or use.

It is a valid idea but that is equivalent to saying that your hand is a system.

Fads happen with words just like they do with fashion or anything else. A few years ago it was a big deal to start referring to "stock" (cooking) as "bone broth" instead. Young morons used to call things they liked "cool", now they say "based" instead. The diversity crowd wants you to call "mothers" "birthing persons" instead. It's all about virtue signaling how you're part of the in-group by using the same terminology they use. "Gun"? Lol, that's what a boomer would say.

People have been refering to certain guns as "weapon systems" for more than a decade and a half. Good on you for having finally caught up.

Stocks are inherently different than bone broths or just straight broth. All stocks have bone broth as a base, but all broths do not have the vegetable and aromatic elements that make a stock a stock. What makes bone broth nice is that you can take precanned stock, cook your aromatics in it for an hour, and have a massively better stock than what you'd get from the store.

Sometime around the 90s/early 00's weapons manufacturers realized its easier to sell generals not just a single assault rifle but an entire "weapons system" or a "platform" that could serve multiple roles meaning they could sell more rifles. They tried this with the XM8 for example.

Yes, I'm sure having an autistic dislike of the term "weapon system" is a common, organic sentiment for users of the weapons board

you can't let your autism boss you around like that. It's powerful.

Not every soldier is assigned a carbine, some are assigned SAWs or machine guns also. Weapon system refers to your assigned weapon system.

"Soldier will qualify on their assigned weapon system." duh

Nah, just only the SoF image I had at hand. Their ads were a shitload of "X is the greatest weapon system ever designed!" And "Freelance operator trained on multiple weapon systems." type shit. My dad used to have a subscription to these guys literally just for my little 6 year old autistic brain to gawk over.

It's gay and cliche but the firearm is how it leaves the factory.
Add an optic, bipod, suppressor etc and now you have a system of parts.

same reason why people will drink protein shakes and wear tighter t shirts while never, ever setting foot in a gym in their lives

because to 99% of the npcs you'll come across, talking the talk is simple enough to fool them, and rarely do you have to demonstrate walking the walk, and when they do that's when they usually kick and scream on the ground or claim that they're being cyber bullied or just delete their social medias

regardless, if you're worried about what other people say then you are the bigger issue
