What's the tactical advantage in invading a neighbouring country to annex them so they can't join NATO, which turns out to be the one course of action that drives your other neighbour, with a much more advanced army and historical experience in slaughtering Russian invaders, to apply for NATO membership?

Turkish parliament just ratified Finnish accession to NATO. Turkey was the last member state that needed to do that, so Finland is now officially joining NATO.

Finland has a 1200 kilometre border with Russia.

Lol.
Lmao, even.

If Russia is literally willing to go nuclear over them LOSING in Ukraine, than this is the best time to wipe the entire Russian people off the face of this Earth. Because if Russia is willing to go nuclear due to their own frickups in Ukraine, they will likely use their nuclear stockpile for something even stupider in the future if we don't retaliate now. It's why the West isn't letting Russia's nuclear threats influence our aid to Ukraine, because any country that threatens nuclear Armageddon has to be unilaterally wiped off this planet before they do something stupid.

You can fricking bet that if Russia went nuclear, even tactical, in Ukraine, that even China and Iran would abandon them in a heartbeat, especially since China technically has a responsibility to protect Ukraine from nuclear attack due to that treaty in the 90s that removed Ukraine's own nuclear weapons.

I agree with you, but I'd be loath to trust the Chinese on anything besides how good dog tastes.

True, but I think even in this scenario China would abandon Russia in a heartbeat at the very least, if not gladly contribute to an invasion of their own.

A Russia that uses nukes in Ukraine instantly become a pariah state throughout the world and will be known as such for decades with the societal and economic implications from such following them for likely centuries. A country so foolish as to use nuclear weapons after being beaten from an invasion that they themselves started. If people think the sanctions and shit are bad now, imagine when even the most corrupt shit hole in Africa abandons Russia and even organized crime does everything in its power to get the frick out of Russia. It would be a shitshow unlike anything in all of human history where the entire world banded together to eliminate a huge threat to world stability.

The Chinese certainly are not to be trusted, it's more that Russia nuking Ukraine would put China in a very difficult position.
They'd either have to go to war with Russia or lose lots of face.

Ukrainian AA is saturated now so Russia will have to spend a significant part of it's arsenal to guarantee decisive hits. This has 2 consequences:
          1) Losing nuclear parity because of a civil war (as they still consider Ukraine their rightful claim)
          2) Ukraine restoring some of the downed warheads and becoming a nuclear state again. Take into account they may get the warheads *cough* somewhere else but still make legit claims about getting them from russia. Considering the proximity of the Donetsk and russian nuclear stations to the Ukrainian territory, the millions of russians and their puppets will die in a nuclear holocaust.

Zelensky was elected in 2019, long after the Maidan, under a "lets be friends with Russia", while the then president and the guy he was running against Poroshenko is an ultranationalist oligarchy using his personal wealth to make technicals to the AFU which he calls "Bandera-Mobiles".

Color revolutions are possible only with population support, therefore they are just the variations of democratic process. That's why Putin admitted the legitimacy of the first president after Maidan and that's why he needs force to control ukrainians now.

Ok. Let's check Putin's reasons to start this shitshow of a war

Azov is still there. Now western "heroes"
    >demilitarization
Ukraine is now one of the most equipped and trained armies in the world.
    >Stop NATO expansion.
