What's the point of this

They couldve easily start mass producing and export su-57 instead. It's not like the su-57 is expensive or have some technological secret they want to keep or anything. I think this plane is all vaporware

its the performance of a mig 21 with shittier less efficient airframe

This, the femboy was supposed to be a JF-17 rival, a cheap successor to the mig 21 for all the thirdies out there that want a new fighter jet with a nice "Stealth" looking body kit so that brownies would rank them as equal to the f-35 on their blogs/youtube power ranking videos for a fraction of its price. Showing once again the "ingenuity" of russian engineering that can offer something similar to the west for a much lower price (Even if at the end of the day it wasnt that similar performance wise).

      The sad truth.

Its probably more like no money to pay for them to be built.
Plus the mig will be way cheaper to make if it gets built.

      >That's the secret
Not really a secret, it's been plain as day to anyone following the aircraft's procurement (more like lack of procurement) even in passing.

The purpose of military contracts is not to strengthen the country, but to embezzle funds. Especially in Russia,

    LOL 😀

It's been dead for years, they ran out of money. It was a tech demo of sorts anyway, they rarely design anything with a good overall performance.

It was a way to rob and steal, just like the armata a way to steal vast vast sums of money in plain sight. Putin is worth 200 Billion that is where the money went. Then end.

        MODEL AIRCRAFT CARRIER
        POSSIDION NUCLEAR TIDAL WAVE
        GOLD RESERVE GOLBUG CENTRAL BANK
        NEW SATAN NUCLEAR MISSILE

ARE ALL EVERY SINGLE ONE A WAY FOR PUTIN AND FRIENDS TO STEAL MONEY VAST VAST AMOUNTS OF MONEY. THEY WERE NEVER GOING TO MAKE THEM. THEY NEVER WORKED THEY JUST HAD TO CONVINCE THE RUSSIAN DRUNKS THEIR POVERTY WAS BUILDING WONDER WEAPONS AND RUSSIA STRONK

Su-57 is a dead end and not attractive for pajeet or other investment anymore, they are trying to grasp at foreign money with yet another flanker bodykit

Why wouldn't it be attractive to countries that can't buy f-35s?

at that point, you still have a couple options from europe, if that's still too expensive, I'm sure the chinese will export you something for cheaper.
If you buy from Russia at this point, you deserve whatever shit you might or might not get.

those paper stats are scary if they can make it happen, the plane is a beast, on paper, so is the 203mm SLRC, which would render every airfield within 1000nm worthless in a very short time, but the US says its vaporware for now. thank your congress ARMY fans

Su-57 will be outdated the moment Russian industry musters the strength to produce it in large enough numbers

Su57 is already outdated, literally just a Su27 with bolt on wing extensions and new paint.

they tried but Home Depot was out of screws

They want to get in on that sweet multinational supplier-based money to cut spending on design and pocket some more for themselves.

  10. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

It is expensive, and they couldn't have started mass producing it.
Russia practically can only introduce a new weapons system if they get a big foreign order. Because they have no money to pay for it themselves.
The goal is to get foreign buyers.

  11. 2 years ago

so they could make nato say "femboy" every time they see one

  12. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

Because Russia has no money to mass produce anything modern.
They still have to keep the designers gainfully employed though. If they don't keep funding new projects, they run the risk that the engineers involved will take jobs in China, or the West, or India, etc.

He's getting SU-57 and SU-75 mixed up. The 57 has reportedly seen limited combat application in Ukraine afaik, mostly as a cruise missile launch platform.

The USSR was able to advance technology (in the defense sector anyway), design and build functional aircraft of all generations up to the early 4th gen. They designed and built all kinds of engines. All kinds of weapons. All kinds of supporting systems. Some of it was based on stolen tech sure, much of it was inferior sure. But it could be built in serious numbers and equip their large military in bases all over. But now, after the fall of the USSR that capability is almost completely gone. It was never that good except in a few areas, but it was there and functioned. Now it mostly doesn’t. Now it’s nothing but corruption and fakery. There’s still an industry selling Soviet designs, and there’s still new designs coming out — but never being released, or only in tiny sample numbers. Utter clown show.

Correction, Russia mass PRODUCED tanks and missiles. They only have one tank plant left, and the Armata are still can be counted with your fingers despite being slated for mass-production in 2015.

A cheap and technically obsolete fighter like the Su-75 is better than the expensive but already obsolete Felon. Russians should be investing more in a 6th gen or beyond technologies than waste money on short term parity with the USA and China.
