What's the point of infantry when you could just put everyone into Wiesel 1's and multiply their combat capability?

What's the point of infantry when you could just put everyone into Wiesel 1's and multiply their combat capability?
>instead of a helmet and a plate carrier you have 360° invulnerability to 7.62 and much of shrapnel
>Instead of walking at 4 km/h or sprinting at 10 km/h you can go 80 km/h until you run out of fuel
>instead of a puny M4 everyone has a 20mm autocannon / TOW / AA missiles etc.
>instead of ACOG you have large scale optics, thermals, and night vision too heavy to fit on a rifle
>instead of getting your leg blown off by anti personnel mines only anti tank mines can hurt you
>inb4 muh cost
If you make 100 000 of these things, enough to fit a 2 million man army they'll cost no more than a new Corolla.
Of course tanks, artillery, and planes are still useful but infantry is useless considering that we've had what practically equates to power armor for decades now. You could even easily make a one-person Wiesel to make them even smaller, such a vehicle would probably weigh no more than a normal modern passenger car.

Since wiesel is German I expect it to cost about 1-2 million dollars for each
And 50% will be always in repair

What is the point of making shitty threads when you could just apply some critical thinking instead?

it's spite, anon. these people don't have the iq required to actually learn anything (go onto archive.org, pick up 30 pdfs and read all of them for example) and they desperately want to have a discussion about weapons (they all want to kill blacks, israelites or gay people generally, all of these threads are made by people who frequent /misc/) so they end up browsing wikipedia enough to learn some terms and make shitty threads here to annoy people who actually know shit.

this is very common on the internet. people shitting up things that require expertise or knowledge because they're unable to gain that knowledge. art spaces are full of it, people want ai art tools to succeed 10% to make shitty images but 90% to watch actual accomplished artists suffer.

i those would be pretty nice drone carriers these days, just driver gunner/commander and drooooner.
Drive around park in bush. carry like 10 drones do recon and a few strikes, cruise home

Just to play into this, the logistics behind the vehicles that have people in them are exponentially greater in scope and scale than the people themselves. Wiesels can't really kick doors, and require specific training to operate on top of the specialization of combat troops. If everyone has to be a driver + gunner + in-field mechanic on top of their primary role of 'rucker fricker shitting in the muck-er', their training takes longer and their capacity to be an expert in a given task shrinks.

      >Wiesels can't really kick doors
Kicking doors is a police activity, not an army activity. An army activity would be to ventilate the building with 20 mm.
      >require specific training to operate on top of the specialization of combat troops
Everyone already has a drivers license so all they need to learn is how to turn the turret towards enemy and unleash. Basic training only takes a couple of months anyhow so a month or so of extra is nothing much.

Not an argument. Have you been following the war in Ukraine at all? How much "door kicking" have you been observing?

            Anonymous

a lot, actually. do you watch videos of the war or do you just sit here all day and shitpost? also by the way the point i was mocking you over was the drivers license but, not the door kicking bit. i was under the impression the door kicking thing was typed as a joke, as it's so obviously moronic.

Isn't that an even more odd thing to point out? Do you personally know even a single male who doesn't have a drivers license? (assuming you are an adult)

this little fella with a TOW on it is the best armored vehichle germany has ever produced and I am not even kidding
    >small, fast, and light meaning it can go easily into the woods, where something like a humvee would get fricked
    >cheap (it uses a fricking VW golf engine, a romanina gypsy can fix it in his home workshop)
    >can be carried by a fricking chinook
    >gen 2 thermals
    >TOW2 to ruin your day
replace TOW with spike, add a bunch of drones and you got yourself zigger-killer 3000

    >instead of getting your leg blown off by anti personnel mines only anti tank mines can hurt you
That is a moot point since an AT mine will kill you and is no risk to a soldier walking.
    >walk and get legs blow off but invulnerable to AT mines
    >drive and get obliterated but invulnerable to AP mines
    Tough call to be honest.

PrepHole easily beats /k/ in moronation hands down

    actually he's right

it's all about economy of scale.
this kind of thing wouldn't be possible without a strong war economy that was extremely efficient

but also i want this to happen with planes too. just make like 10,000 F86's or whatever shit cheap planes you can make and swarm them WW2 style. no one would be ready for that zerg rush
