Definitely near the top of the list. Also, Beretta 92, CZ75, Springfield SA-35, Steyr M, FN FNX, HK P30

Look at guns at store, ask to hold guns in your price range, bonus points if you can rent it, buy the one you like the best.

Spend $200 of that money on couple of introductory classes that let you try bunch of different guns. You will not suck at handgun after the class, which will save you more than $200 on fliers that don't even hit the target.

What said. Hands on time will completely change your counter top experience vs “um, I guess this one feels nice.”

That said, buy a Glock if you don’t want to think about it, and enjoy every other polymer owner telling you you’re wrong without giving tangible reasons. Alternatively, be the guy who tells Glock owners they’re wrong, because you spent an extra hour doing research.

Literally only /k/ does this. The autistic nitpicking here is outrageous.

For real though. Buy an M&P 2.0 my first handgun was the 1.0 in 9mm and i loved it. And ive been told the 2.0 is better in every way.

Just get a gen 3/5 G19 and call it a day. They get better as you use em and aftermarket parts/accessories are everywhere. Get a TLR-1 HL light to throw on and you're golden.

For everyone who is saying Glock and not elaborating further, Get a Glock 45. G45 is the smoothest shooting 9mm and depending on your body type is still viable for ccw. Also replace the stock sights with night sights. /k/'s favorite are tritium night sights but mine came with Ameriglo Spartan's and they work like a charm.
