let me venture a guess, that also means rogozin actually went and asked the rocket scientists if they could send an asteroid to impact on USA?

      >nuclear counterattack from target
Who's going to know? Even if they did know they would have a hard time proving it if NASA/ESA never tracked it before (All tracked 'roids are on open databases, but they don't have to be).
The precision for these things can be extremely accurate if it's trackable in basically any way (On final orbit approach).
      >risk of fricking up the earth's trajectory/orbit
You are moronic but it's ok
Anything big enough to do that in any significant way would kill all life on earth.
Its impact on the movement of the giant mass on the earth can also be predicted completely.
      >Morality
      Lol
      lmao even

The only problem is the unpredictability of the way they move it, using high speed impact in OP's case.
If they were able to actually match orbit, and use gimballed engines and careful landing(Arguably pushing, since landing is pointless on almost 0G, they could influence it considerably more acurately. But you would need a significantly more capable rocket to do that.

Despite what toddlers might think, people are going to notice an asteroid changing established orbital trajectories and suddenly coming straight at Earth, months in advance. They're also going to try and do something about it. And if the globalist cabal piloting America as a israeli mech robot fails to respond, they'll know it was being done intentionally and likely provoke a counter-value scenario.

        >people are going to notice an asteroid changing established orbital trajectories
The US is light years ahead in anything space related.
If the Us doesn't want you to notice it, you won't.

          Anonymous

If you're implying the US has a klingon cloaking device that can hide the apparent albedo of a massive asteroid, I'd like proof now.

          Wrong.
There are so many asteroids not mapped it's not even funny, and that's with effectively alll of the ones mapped are dumped onto open source.
We have a lot mapped, but it's barely any at all, there is effectively no way to know if an unknown asteroids orbit was changed.

          Wrong.
Being mapped is not the same thing as an active monitored sky. An object growing in brightness will be noticed. Most sky-watching tools these days are run by computer, not a guy in a field with a 100mm scope.

By the time non-US agencies noticed an asteroid directed at Earth, there would be no way to prove it was deflected by the US or any human.
Especially if you create astroturfing in the news.

Astroturfing didn't stop what happened with the Nordstream from being found out. People are not that stupid, and can correlate launch schedules (it would have to be a very large vehicle, or one assembled in space, launched into orbit in order to deflect or direct an asteroid towards Earth) and compare it to known objects with known orbital paths suddenly being altered.

For this mental masturbation exercise to even have a chance at succeeding, the government would have to pre-plan, engineer, and launch multiple self-assembling vessels in a hidden orbit, probably somewhere behind the moon or a LaGrange point, be painted totally light-absorbing colors somehow, and then have it remote-pilot itself without satellite direction towards an object, land on it, retrieve it, and then gently steer it back towards Earth, in an operation that might take a decade or longer. And you still have the problem of "big object growing in brightness" being detected by sky-watcher algorithm, followed by "Hey America, are you going to do something about this?" And when the answer is "no", counter-value.

There is a very wide gap between changing the trajectory of an astral body and changing it into the exact direction you need to hit a specific point on Earth. I don't give a frick what the nerds as NASA's math SAYS is possible; redirecting a multi-ton amalgamation of bullshit millions of miles away moving dozens of times the speed of sound to hit a couple hundred mile wide target is basically impossible. Humans are nowhere close to that level of precision. It would be like hitting a flea with a hair-sized bullet on opposite ends of the United States.

Altering it enough to avoid the entire planet is one thing. Altering it enough for it to not only hit the planet, but to hit a specific part of the planet seems like it would be significantly more challenging even if you were inclined to do it.
