Is filled with retards. Most of soldiers aren't very bright. Please remember this when you post about the reliability of their equipment.
Want a reliable handgun? >Glock 19 >Want a handgun for carry? >Glock 19
Want a handgun for home defense? >Glock 19
Want a handgun for the range? >Glock 19 >Want a handgun you can tune? >Glock 19
All roads lead to G19 and you can buy a brand new Gen 5 for around $500. Buy a Glock first then superfluous stuff later.
They're asking for guns that aren't overpriced. Especially when >APX >M&P >any Arex
The APX and the Walther PDP can both be had for less than a new G19, and are both marked improvements. Not like the G19 is bad, but its never been more than the Honda Civic of handguns. I own 2 Glocks, and I'm probably going to pick up a third within the next year, but they're not all that great. The only reason I own any is because I've gotten them for incredibly cheap.

I owned an APX A1 and a PDP and they both got traded. The APX choked when it got cold outside and the PDP was $650 and is a weird, chonky thing with ridiculous recoil from 9mm, I think due to its chonky slide. I am considering getting a PDP compact for a red dot since I love my P99 and the PDP trigger + ergos are top notch.
I have many handguns with neat features or things I found interesting but my HD gun and my carry are both Glock. Glock does what a handgun needs to do in the simplest, most intuitive package with several decades of proven reliability.

The thing about Glock is that it's an extremely shootable, low-bore pistol that allows you to point with your thumbs and almost forces a proper wrist lock. It's extremely quirky in a way, but all of those quirks really do work for institutions and for some individual shooters.
I don't think I've seen a similar package in any of the clones, guns like APX, PDP or CZ P10 seem pretty normal in comparison.
Glock is NOT the basic-bitch brick people make it out to be.
Glock's big advantage is how customizable they are, not what you get out of the box, they're horribly overpriced in current year for what you get out of the box when something like the Springfield Echelon exists. I say this as someone who primarily carries a Glock 43X or G19
The only con is the feel of the trigger, anon. Police and military all over the world issue them and use them for years without modification. $500 for the worldwide standard handgun is a good deal.

Beretta 92 with a Langdon trigger bar and Beretta match hammer. Stock 92 is good, but the LTT Bar and Beretta match hammer turn the trigger into a racegun trigger.
Define "main brands", because by sheer volume of sales you're going to see Glock, Sig, S&W, and then probably Beretta and even Taurus (people hate on them, but they move a ton of handgun inventory).
Cz p10, p07, p09. Smigg and weffen m&penis
Anymore brain busters there pal??
Also Berebba and Walter
>Beretta
>The gun that half of the time was malfunctioning in the hands of the mighty American military
the Beretta 92 had the least failures in the XM9 trials.
Wasn't it because they got shit magazines? And never fucking maintained the damned things.
The army made several downgrades as cost saving, then had to reupgrade it to closer to the 92 that Beretta initially submitted.

You're looking for a Glock. Welcome to the gun world, OP. Have fun.

A brand new G19 is around $500 and offers everything you could need in a handgun. How poor are you that $500 is a lot of money?
Eh still too much for what a G19 is, you can get a gently used closer to 400
Glock's competition offers more value for less money. The only reason to suggest a Glock now would be for the third party ecosystem.
No, they don't. Any handgun competing with the G19 and under $500 is likely dog shit.

The answer is always Glock 19.

PSA dagger is a Glock 19 for less than half that price.
