Whatever happened to Hamas' drone army?

Whatever happened to Hamas' drone army? They were heavily hyped in the early stages of the war but have been completely MIA since IDF entered gaza

Probably the same thing that happened to the impregnable Hamas tunnels?

Big drones are a bad idea.
Still vulnerable to jamming, too valuable to get close. With good optics are useful, as grenade droppers are retarded.

They're not, they just need to fly higher, unfortunately gaza is tiny and Israels AA network is overwhelming.

Jammed on top of Gaza's power getting shut off so no means to recharge them.

I'd never realized that until this conflict, that Isreal is supplying Gaza with power and water.
How dumb do you have to be to declare war on your water provider? In the fucking desert?

I keep seeing this repeated over and over, it's the Palestinians' own fault they're in the position they're in, not because of the Israelis.

A prison camp with its own autonomous administration, freedom to build desalination/power plants, and a medium-HDI living standard? This is the best prison ever.

Just look at the pictures, Palesyine is way better for living than Russia or India. The goatfuckers receive so many gibs they could've lived way better than Israel, if not for this insatiable need for terror bombing.

they are free to administer their country as they want. They don't get to decide if Israel and Egypt doesn't let them in

Likely israel turned the jammers to 11 and 'always on'. It's not like they have to worry about hamas having anti-radiation hmissiles

they didnt, there are dozens of israeli drones at all times over gaza and they all need communication capabilities that are around the same wavelenghts.
there are many quads and zik drones (hermes 450) many of them armed.

also idf usually does not jam enemy communications as thats how they get most of their targets for bombing. every building in gaza that was bombed IDF either has video of a hamas terrorist entering it or a hamas radio signal was triangulated to it. thats also how they had the recordings of the hamas terrorists discussing how the jihad terrorists bombed the hospital.

Lmao. The IDF bombs any building they please. Their targeting cycle has almost no restrictions and no requirements for a strike to be generated.

I mean, if you look the building that have been targeted so far, it seems it has been pretty indiscriminate.
If they didn't have Intel enough to bomb all of gaza before when they were ~~*sure*~~ there were militants in thise buildings, they must be hands off now, like, you can't not believe it at this point they are trying to flatten gaza and thats a good thing (because we get good kino)

Israel has a very large target bank and is still conducting only precision strikes. They just killed a Hamas commander inside his own house today with an air strike. You’re full of shit

It turns out shitty little quadcopters aren't invincible. Who would have thought advanced professional militaries would have been able to counter them? None of the insufferable computer dorks on /k/, that's for sure.

They were hyped on Day 1 because they actually worked on Day 1, dropping bombs on some border defenses and a Merkava.
But that was a bit of an aberration.
Hamas has been trying to acquire drones for a long time and has launched commercial drones and homemade garbage at Israel the last few times they were fighting - but to little effect, with most getting shot down by aircraft and air defenses.
The Oct 7th drone successes might have been just another thing that should never have normally worked, except for Israel being asleep at their defenses.

There's also some hype because people look at Ukraine and assume drone attacks are wunderwaffe for any asymmetric fight.
The problem is, Hamas can't order a pallet of 5,000 drones from DJI. Everything has to be smuggled in.
Hamas only used a handful of drones in its big surprise attack, and it never put out any of its typical sort of propaganda videos showing off rows and rows of drones ready to drop grenades. So I think it's doubtful they have very many.
And if that's the case it's not even necessary that Israel is deep frying the EM spectrum or deploying israeli microwave lasers or Iron Beams. Conventional AA alone would be enough to give Hamas's stock a very short lifespan and make them keep them in reserve.

      >people look at Ukraine and assume drone attacks are wunderwaffe for any asymmetric fight
They looked at war were both sides have EW, artillery, anti-radiation missiles, aircrafts and assumed it's how asymmetric fights look?

        Anonymous

No I mean anyone can rig a toy aircraft to drop a hand grenade, so it's a given it's a possible weapon for any asymmetric fight.
And the fact that it's been one of the most successful tactics in the biggest conventional war of our time makes it look like wunderwaffe.

People lack full picture. Drones can just attack forward positions because it's conventional war and not insurgency, Israel can just place as many jammers as they want and target Hamas pilots, in Russo-Ukraine war any EW can be targeted and destroyed by artillery and pilots can hide behind repeaters at depth of front. Hamas also lacks production ability, those drones are bought by thousands and gets destroyed constantly

EW systems are active 24/7 now. It's easy to completely cover all of Gaza.

Only CNN or ViT based drones (AI) could bypass this to some degree, but Hamas doesnt have those capabilities.

Hamas doesn't have enough weapons or resources to be called a real army. They are basically ISIS tier.

IDF are supposed to be a technologically advanced military, so after they finally got mobilized they've been running wide area jammer, directed jammers or straight up been blowing up Hamas drone operators with some Apache circling overhead.
Could also be a possibility that they're holding out, waiting for lines to settle before resorting to hit-and-run type tactics while the IDF are not on guard as much.
