Stop asking why the parody of 1950’s government propaganda that also features people regularly surviving on 100 year old irradiated macaroni isnt realistic and maybe you wouldn’t be in a state of constant shock.
There's a modern weapons mod I would always install in FO4. It added real guns and rebalanced firearms to be a lot more deadly in general. Helped a lot.
One of the most interesting things about Starfield is how fucking angry it makes some people. Like people are frothing at the mouth fuckin MAD at this game for some reason. It's a video game, calm down.

The only things it does that older Bethesda games didn't are like randomly generated bits of planets and facial animation system that's absolutely lost on randomly generated NPC goblins.

however, even if you were correct, the answer to >are the combat/dialogues/amount of content that good?
is unironically yes, with the caveat for the combat that it's turn-based, so if you dislike that or just aren't in the mood for it that's moot - it's just a cost of the genre.

>are the combat/dialogues/amount of content that good?
It's a worthy successor to classic CRPGs as far as quests and characters are concerned. Not Planescape Torment good, but very good.
What stands out is the combat, original BG and BG2 combat was really lackluster due to it being basically turn based D&D combat extrapolated to real time and you had to pause every five seconds, this one is more akin to Divinity except you can use the environment and non offensive spells in even more ways.

>Larian is AA
pfftthahaha, no. They are now a AAA studio.
I think the biggest issue is that there's so few weapons. Usually with games like these you have more so sometimes there are cool ones by literal accident but here it's like two guns per category. Kinda insane for a game that's supposed to be massive and have a lot of content.
I got a space P90 that shoots explosive caseless rounds and is poisonous thanks to legendary effects, and it fires incindiary rounds due to a modification it had when i found it.
I simple choose to belive i have made hand loads if the most vile noxious and unstable incendiary i could find, and it is only by the grace of god that i have not exploded myself like so many handloading bubbas that came before.
That said it's not worth 70$ i got my copy fir 50$ though off some steam key selling site.
I got my copy for 0$ because I refuse to give Todd any money even by proxy. He may consider it my refund for all the Skyrims.
Yes, I’m sure EVERY person complaining is using a shit-tier PC, it can’t possibly be that your game is ass.
You gays did the exact same thing with Darktide when it came out. Remind me how that game is doing, again?
Darktide is still pretty fun at the core and they might actually do something good for the game after a year wait. That aside it's not even remotely close, Starfield runs way worse than Darktide, borderline unplayable when there's nothing of note happening on the screen while even with old ass 1060 you can run Darktide comfortably on low settings and only slow down when there's a particularly big horde on screen.
There is a ton more physical objects around, and the cities are way more populated than skyrim for sure.
AI is really dumb though. The jetpack really fucked shit up for them.
Most of the city population is fake though. You can just turn it down in config files and realize that most of the time there's really only maybe twenty NPCs on screen that are actually of importance and even then the game stutters and freezes. Physical objects shouldn't impact performance much unless they're being actively simulated - that is unless you're picking them up or they're thrown around by explosions they shouldn't be any worse than normal clutter.
I'm not even really surprised that it runs shit or angry that it should run better on old computers, I'm just curious what the fuck is the technology being pushed because I can't fucking see it and can't figure out a rational reason for the performance other than "we didn't even fucking try optimizing it at all lol".
>Most of the city population is fake though
They are not? unless you are saying that they are not all quest givers. They die, they drop loot, etc. > only maybe twenty NPCs on screen that are actually of importance
Oh wait you are bitching that they are not quest givers. > Physical objects shouldn't impact performance
wolol > for the performance
What performance issues? I have a 3070ti and i average 60 at 1440 with 1% at 50ish. I will agree that the graphics settings are a black box, but is clear they are going for highest FPS at target res, and it does appear to adjust dynamically.
>graphics cards are everything that matters
Starfield isn't even that bad when it comes to GPU, you could probably run it on some old ass GTX 9xx with reduced resolution and all settings on lowest. However, it's HEAVILY CPU bound, most out of any mainstream game to date. The only stuff I can think of that's worse is like KSP2 or other similar autistic physics simulators.

Larian is AA
AAA RPG project leads are fucking scared shitless of how good BG3 is
What's so great about it? On screenshots it looks like any other fantasy RPG, are the combat/dialogues/amount of content that good?
> it looks like any other fantasy RPG
anon you might have potatoes for eyes
however, even if you were correct, the answer to
>are the combat/dialogues/amount of content that good?
is unironically yes, with the caveat for the combat that it's turn-based, so if you dislike that or just aren't in the mood for it that's moot - it's just a cost of the genre.
>are the combat/dialogues/amount of content that good?
It's a worthy successor to classic CRPGs as far as quests and characters are concerned. Not Planescape Torment good, but very good.
What stands out is the combat, original BG and BG2 combat was really lackluster due to it being basically turn based D&D combat extrapolated to real time and you had to pause every five seconds, this one is more akin to Divinity except you can use the environment and non offensive spells in even more ways.
>Larian is AA
pfftthahaha, no. They are now a AAA studio.
Summed it up pretty well
Fuck gamer divas
>>>/v/
gtfo my board underage fag
I think the biggest issue is that there's so few weapons. Usually with games like these you have more so sometimes there are cool ones by literal accident but here it's like two guns per category. Kinda insane for a game that's supposed to be massive and have a lot of content.
This is the reload animation for the shotgun
No its not. I was about 3 years ago though.
Not anymore, most of the firearms in the game fire caseless ammo now.
that cheek rest looking thing pops up and that's where you put a new magazine
>organic aliengun aesthetic
>fake ass "case hardening"
>wood furniture and engraving/filigree
>Chinkshit Aliexpress scope on a girder-rail
This is the worst clusterfuck of gun design I've seen in a game in a while, and that's counting the FO4 "assault rifle".
I had no idea what was happening in that game once I got to the point where I could modify my pipe gun
why so blatantly lie? heres a you
If you have to lie to support your point, it shows that you, at your core, do not believe in your own point.
There’s no technology being pushed, the creation engine is just a huge unoptimized piece of shit
>Most of the city population is fake though
They are not? unless you are saying that they are not all quest givers. They die, they drop loot, etc.
> only maybe twenty NPCs on screen that are actually of importance
Oh wait you are bitching that they are not quest givers.
> Physical objects shouldn't impact performance
wolol
> for the performance
I have a last gen i7...
NGMI. Buy a Ryzen and you wouldn't have any problems.
I have no issues with starfield.
>Ryzen
Can recommend.
Not sure why anyone loves garden gnometel, suffered buyers remorse gen after gen, listening to retards hype their shit performance.
Absolutely love my new rig with a 7800X3D.
>Not sure why anyone loves garden gnometel
Bulldozer series. Never again. I came from the Athlons riding high too...
That was the AM3+ CPU's right?
I heard they ran hot and hungry.
Can't say I was really happy with my performance w/ Intel during the time, but it got me by I guess.
>I heard they ran hot and hungry.
For less performance than their previous gen at launch, for only a little more towards the back end. I bought 3 of them. a 4, 6 (black) then 8 core 16t. It was terrible.
intel was far better during that time.
Yup I switched to ryzen with my latest build and I’m pretty happy with it
The game is 50% loading screens and menus, dunno why so many fags are rushing to defend it
.
Yes. I suggest The last of us 2. They dont even ask for pronouns! A true trad game.
Videogames are for children.
Sir you are on an anime site.
Anime aren't cartoons, in eastern cultures adults watch them.
Whatever you have tell yourself to sleep at night lmao
ishygddt
weapons?
yes there ae weapons in the video game starfield good job lil buddy
the discussion is not about weapons however. read the thread first
so anyway i think the grendel sucks ass in the game
coachgun is fun but pretty meh
Go back to /v/ moron
the regulator is plausibly realistic with its revolver-ness i agree
Too bad the thread hasn't even been remotely about that. Fag.
>it's another make the op appear on topic while the rest of the thread is anything but that
Naw bro this is a PrepHole Vidya thread man. Totally not a /v/tard thread.
Ironically more PrepHole related than the /a/ thread.
Bitching about starfield is not on topic gay.
At least starfield has guns.
Once again, bitching about starfield is not on topic. Go back to /v/ and complain about the games you keep playing.
Once again, starfield has guns.
And so does the /a/thread, now go back to /v/ and bitch about the games you keep playing.
>And so does the /a/thread,
lmao
>Lost the argument, concedes
A shiggy
>tells a lie
>gets laughed at
lol, lmao even
BUY STARFIELD
MAKE YOUTUBE CHANNEL

DO A FAKE moron VOICE OPVER THEM
TALK SHIT ON THESE moronS
MAD FUCKING VIEWS
they look really good, apart from the fact that their design is such that these guns weigh a lot, but this is done simply to give brutality
freestar collective can and does suck cum
The guns look kinda stupid, plus it’s shitty nu bethesda so I think I’m going to skip it.
Bethesda weapon design is always great
Absolutely cursed af. Every gun in overdesigned. It looks like the artist never passed on his work to the engineer and so everything looks fantastical to the untrained eye, but to even a fucking ai it would immediately look off. For many 'guns' they went with a 'let make this real life gun but make it look futuristic' aesthetic, but never paid a single joule's worth of brain power to figuring out whether this would make any sense.
I don't care that my science fiction video game which already violates physics from every angle violates conventional gun design. I used to, when I was an edgy teenager trying to fit in on PrepHole a decade ago.
Speaking of, I really miss Willis threads.
>space
>future
>wooded furniture
>Starslop
Fuck off to /v/
>shartfield
The guns are almost as ugly as the characters
Idk why the game is getting shit on so much. I, for one, am enjoying upgrading my ship. I've put all my credits into it. Added a bunch of daka for aerodynamics. I now fly unimposed through space. No space morons are able to contend with the beefy Frontier.
>shameless self fagging
>Pic rel is ship
I run on the Xbox Fidge. Haven't noticed any major bugs. There is alot of diversity but its evenly split between nigs, chinks, and whites. My entire ship crew is white. I think the hate is coming from PC fags with shit rigs and Sony morons seething about not being able to play.
>I'm on the Xbox and it runs fine
30 fps is fine to a subhumanoid freak
