Buncha morons that can't understand the question and're just trying to appear smart by poking holes in an obviously fictional, contrived scenario.

I think melee weapons would make a huge comeback.
    >Bows and arrows rendered obsolete due to modern body armor made to withstand their successors
    >blunt force trauma would be the most reliable way to defeat your typical Black person assailant
    >Vehicles would obviously be more valuable, as you can't swing a crowbar to someone sitting inside their pickup

The government would be pissing their pants knowing that the playing field got more or less completely leveled. Missiles, drones, tanks, what have you, could probably hold off the first few groups that try to storm the governmental buildings, but there's 300 million Americans and only so many armaments at their disposal. Bullets inside their ZogBot's weapons were the main layer of defense against a coup. With that gone, I suspect most of the israelites in office and in executive positions would either pack up and leave or lay low off in a ranch somewhere.

It'd honestly be pretty kino. Guns are great and make men equal, but at the same time that's their problem. The weak become equal to the strong, making natural selection grind to a halt. Places like Portland, Los Angeles, New York, and any other major population center full of sois and Black folk would get very bloody, very fast.

I don’t see why guns not working suddenly makes everything descend into chaos. Like you already said there’s already other weapons that the government also has access to and then some. If it happened nowadays you’d see a return of knights very quickly. The average pleb already has problems resisting the government with access to easy to use ranged weaponry, so I doubt that they’d be eager to get into a knife fight with an armored goon wielding a broadsword.
strength in numbers is a thing, but historically the vast majority of peasant revolts ended in further subjugation

        >I don’t see why guns not working suddenly makes everything descend into chaos.
Because whatever magical change happened to make gunpowder not work means that all sorts of other vital processes don't work either. Don't think of the question as "gunpowder doesn't work", think of it as "the laws of physics are now totally fricked". Because that's what it actually implies, though I suspect the person asking the question was too stupid to realize this in the first place.

Explosives by definition involve very specific very high energy chemical structures. By the measure of scifi physics (admittedly a pretty low bar) finding something that could set them off prematurely but not affect much lower potential energy biological chemistry with different bonds isn't too bad (certainly no worse than FTL drive and that shit is everywhere). Explosives "want" to fall apart to more stable products all the time.

Although sure any tech that could target explosive bonds might also eventually go after biological bonds unless it had some minimum level of unstability needed to be practical, and then the thing turns into nightmare fuel. Granted given all the Great Filter stuff maybe there really is something like that out there and civilizations really do end up wiping themselves out with it.

your scenario is stupid and you're stupid. the technologies that make firearms possible also underpin the entirely of modern society, and without them, it would collapse.

Happening anyhow. Whiteboi population is declining in both absolute terms and as a share of all people. They went from 25% of people to 9% and that will continue to fall. They will be the minority in the UK, France, and Germany around 2075-2090.

The Black Chad population is going to quadruple by 2100 after doubling in not all that many years over the past. There will be more Africans than all of Asia.

More importantly, other races will age heavily. Blacks will be over 50% of all humans under 18 by 2100. Even as close as 2040 they will be almost 40% of all births.

Survival of the fittest IS reproduction and by the end of the century there will be more Blacks than every other race combined.

Look at the young demographics to see the destiny.

People in the cities would just over run the country side if things got too violent in the cities.

I'd like to think most of my fellow ruralites could put together a good defense, but realistically we'd be fricked.
      >Very spread out houses, hard to defend
      >Median age in the 50s, almost everyone is old, most young people move to the cities.
      >Extremely high rates of obesity and diabetes.
      >High reliance on food stamps, Walmart gets just as crowded here when EBT recharges as when I lived in a DC ghetto.

If you assume some sort of societal breakdown, we're sitting ducks sans guns. Not everyone, but the bulk of the old and fat.

Fat morons with $10,000 with of LARP gear would frick around and find out that their honor, values, code, and whatever else aren't worth dick when they can't do a single pull up or run a mile.

They would b***h about "muh rights," and then a superior man would bash their skull in with a mace after they gassed 3 minutes into a fight.

The PrepHole would dominate, as is only correct. Alpha roid boys would mow down whole packs of beta boog bros and chudlings with our swords and axes. The women, well they were already ours, but the money will now ALSO be ours!

We will make an alliance with the giga homies and big hombres and help exterminate the fatties and twinks.

Unfortunately, this peace and harmony won't last long as fights will eventually break out over use of equipment and access to 8,000 calories a day after all the beta bux and chudcel maintainance people are killed.

Also, the surviving women will probably be extremely happy at first to see the betas go, but will change their tune once they realize most PrepHole men lift for other men and go homosexual at very high rates, leading to an ancient Greek type situation where women are just breeding mares and men do nothing but obsess about sports and war all day.

This might eventually lead to another beta uplifting and more gay science weapons.

Break out the reproduction Girardoni air rifle and blow holes out of people as big as their fist. Not every airgun is a .177 caliber backyard plinker only fit for killing a squirrel.

according to my quick math and googling we're still far below musket power in velocity and mass, so assuming only fractional armor penetration in comparison

You can hunt Cape motherfricking Buffalo with an airgun and here is proof below, and the current record for longest shot with one is 1,250 yards. Do not sleep on airguns, they are still extremely deadly, and plates do not cover everything you need to fight effectively. Can't get close enough with a sword to take someone out even with armor if they blow your fricking foot off and you can't armor your foot enough to still have effective mobility. Rock throwers are OP whether they're using a chemical reaction or compressed air.

almost none. gunpowder has been obsolete for 120+ years, nowadays it's only used for the novelty value and the extra week of hunting season.

Are you referring to that book "The Trigger"? It was somewhat interesting though through a weird political lens. Of course it's also kind of old at this point. We're now close enough to practical electromagnetic guns, lasers, and so on as well as drones and ultra high precision munitions where we are literally already giving up on explosives (hellfire ninja edition for example), that I honestly think the US military would do fine. Hell, with Starship coming online hyper kinetic orbital bombardment is on the verge of being very feasible. If anything it'd be a boost, because guns and explosives are a big equalizer for low tech opponents. It'd take some time but we'd see high tech weapons deploy fast, and if IEDs and AKs were no longer an issue 3rd world nations would be neutralized.

Additionally, explosives are a critical component for nukes. A field that could make explosives fizzle would mean no more nuclear war, and no more MAD. That would be a huge gloves off moment for the great powers vs all the little frickers.

Book is pretty damn lefty and smells a lot of wishful thinking, but still it was a fun enough read. And I will give it credit for taking the basic made up physics idea to its logical conclusion and leaving readers on a note of horror.
