What would an all out war between Canada and the United States look like? Would we fight all along the borders?

What would an all out war between Canada and the United States look like?
Would we fight all along the borders? Just major cities along the borders?
How quick do you think it would be over?
Also, for the sake of this scenario we will assume that neither nation will get support from any other nation.

Wouldn't happen because no one in either country would want to fight for their respective country.

canada folds day 2 after realizing (very slowly) there's an invasion going on. major cities have impotent protests against the invasion, rural areas welcome US forces with home grown tomatoes and BBQs and asking politely that the Americans genocide the quebecers

It’d be similar to the Ukraine war, USA would be gains at the start with the element of surprise but then we’d realise they aren’t as much as a superpower as we thought being forced to get bogged down in brutal french warfare. Britain would send Canada weapons and cross red lines with all sorts of comical effects in between

The CAF would disintegrate in 24 hours tops under the weight of its own incompetence. Honestly the US wouldn't even have to do anything. Just declare war and sit around for a day, then walk in and accept the surrender.

Militarily, as the USA built up forces to invade, Canada would likely try to sneak out some sort of government in exile to somewhere the US couldn't get to them, like China.

They would appeal for international support for an embargo of the USA. The exiled government would order the army to disperse everything they could. The military would be ordered to stand down from conventional fighting, disable any equipment that couldnt be dispersed, and try to trnasport ot smuggle out expensive and advanced technology to America's enemies ( like F-35 ).
Former citizens would likely promote canadian nationalist ideas and engage in mass protests and noncompliance like India did to the British.

More radical Canadians would use dispersed weapons to engage in partisan warfare, train irregular forces to resist, assassinate collaborators, recruit american supporters, destroy critical infrastructure in the US and Canada, etc...

The end goal would be a completely ungovernable country, with no profit incentives to exploit, internal divisions in the US, technology transfers to their enemies, lowered soft power, a possible embargo, and an expenisve coccupation. I am certain if the above happened, the US would be gone within 5 years.

90% of our refugee population hops on a plane out of the country within a week of conflict breaking out, like they did to their home countries. The Canadians with guns would probably welcome the new regime because of the 1st and 2nd amendments, Trudeau would get Gadafi'd, Trannies in Toronto and Vancouver would piss and moan but a lot of people are already sick of them so they wouldn't listen anyways.

moronic, there's a few natural resurces to exploit in Canada, and you could potentially install farmland, cattle etc for exports.

Seizing their land would be a breeze since there's an underlying class of Canadians who hate the current regime and wuld welcome American rules since they'd get a better deal out of being American.

The only people who'd b***h are the useless urbanites, the chinks, and the government who does nothing but cry anyway.

The Canadian population would by and large be relieved that the government-in-exile is in exile and happily brutalize any anti-American resistance.

Our government are basically a bunch of would-be feudal lords doing everything they can to attack our freedom and our quality of life. Nobody except for our new "nobility" (wealthy real-estate hoarding boomers and foreign elites) and brainwashed far-leftists support the Canadian government, and even those far-leftists are starting to drop support as they struggle to put food on the table.

to be frank... any american leader that could manifest popular support for such a conflict would be able to convince them to submit to full annexation without any bloodshed

This is the correct answer. There’s scarcely an American alive that would want to do anything to cause our northern neighbors such harm. The Trudeau government on the other hand….

Why should you support Canada? Unless in this hypothetical situation the American forces are literally just executing everyone, an invasion would be welcome, akin to a liberation

Because they're a former British dominion and their head of state is the King of the United Kingdom. It's kind of baked in that we should support them in most situations.

    >How quick do you think it would be over?
Instantaneously. The Canadian Forces are essentially an underfunded auxiliary force to the US military, and we're tied at the hip, right down to aerospace defence being a bi-national command, the only one in the world. In some clown world scenario where we were fighting each other, the Canadian side would be rolled over practically without a fight, because without the US we're missing like 2/3 of the warfighting capabilities a military needs to function.

It would probably be an insurgency(not particularly intense one) and a lot civil-disobedience. The Canadian military stands zero chance in any form of conventional engagement with the US military.
It would be an occupation, but the overall affair would likely be extremely unpopular with the general public in the US and by extension probably do some siginificant damage to NATO's integrity.
Not the perspective of anyone giving a frick about Canada, but attacking an allied nation is generally frowned upon.
Probably China would try to take advantage of whatever chaos would happen, especially any fallout that would damage the US economically.
    >tl;dr
American total victory militarily, geopolitical clusterfrick & it would sink the career of whoever instigated it.

Depends entirely on ROE and if it's planned in advance for any length of time or is just immediate. If the US went full moron and spent a few months prior sabotaging all of the equipment we've given Canada, it'd be a pogrom and we'd be adding several new states. If we gayged around about it and just did it on a whim it'd turn into a giant quagmire of bullshit that would suck ass and take forever and make us look moronic. It'll never happen because Canada is basically the US without us having to officially co-sign it, and also because it's a shit country full of nothing but shit people with nothing but wood and tar sands to offer and it's just easier to pay for that and keep the gays on their side of the border away from everyone else.

I loathe Canada more than you could even imagine. Any country that has french as an official language is shit.
