City dwellers will basically go extinct after the supply of food and water is gone. After that, the Amish will probably take over or some shit.

that assumes every country has the same shtf event. otherwise it would be countries invading broken ones for resources.

      >after the supply of food and water is gone
Unless we have a planet wide catastrophe or another nuclear war, why would food and water will be gone?
In fact, small farmers produce higher quality yield than large industrial farms that use pesticides .

You don't think we had civilizations in the past that disappeared form this planet because they were nuked?
          >I know it isn't mainstream thinking, but allow yourself to think outside the box.
          >we invented a combustion engine 150 years ago. that's nothing in historical time. yet we already have nuclear power
          >it isn't that complicated.

If history is a model, feudalism emerged after the Roman empire fell. Probably we will see some sort of regional system where common people don't have freedom of travel is likely. Control of information might be so effective that people will think the way they have it is better than we do now.

Feudalism was always present with the Germanics and Celts and is a natural outcropping of our society. To be honest nothing really changed all that much between Antiquity and the medieval period for the Germanic and Celtic peoples, at least in terms of political systems, military organization, societal organization and material culture.
      >They still had walled castle towns
      >They still had a caste system ranging from serfs to kings with mobility dependent on the people
      >They wore mostly the same clothes and spoke similar languages that were in the same family
      >Most of their military technology remained the same aside from the introduction of Frankish heavy cavalry and horsemenship

Feudalism is only given a bad rap because of modern day like scholars. In actuality it was an era of moral reformation after the degeneracy of the late Western Roman Empire.

Feudalism is genuinely the best type of government for smaller kingdoms around the size of states. It only really gets to be an issue when you are running an empire without modern communication methods.

Tbh they might. Serfs worked less than us and believed everything was in Gods hands, even the leadership. Drugs can't give you that kind of of level of assurance.

This. Peasant and army uprisings were so common in every other era except for the Medieval one. Only happening under extreme circumstances

I have done homesteading + food storage and he is basically right. Outside of sowing and harvest season you basically don't have any real work to do, what you do have is comparable to chores
        >Clean chicken pen
        >Get eggs
        >Wack weeds with hula-hoe
        >Pick up limbs for kindling
        >Milk/feed goats
        >Wash clothes once a week
        >Take out food scraps to compost or give to animals
Its real easy stuff that only takes a few minutes. All together its less than an hour of work if you are snappy and do a good job.

Wow it seems like such a shame that we have allowed corporations and the government to dictate working hours that have been formed naturally since the beginning of man

            >working hours that have been formed naturally since the beginning of man
They haven't been, is the point. During harvest and sowing you might work sunrise to sundown, during all other points in the year, which is around 90% of the year, you work for maybe an hour when you wake up. That's it.
You will be able to fully feed yourself, maintain your home, raise your kids, and socialize your animals well; with an average work week of maybe 15 hours/week.

I agree. I still homestead and own my own home so I can kind of keep a traditional pace of life going, but it can be hard at times due to most employers not enjoying having a worker who works so little.
The most disheartening thing is that towns really do seem empty on weekdays when everyone is working outside of lunch or going home. Society feels very dead and very sterile.

If there is a collapse that may genuinely be true. Better humanity is set back a couple of generations, but able to grow free - than to wallow in ~~*slavery*~~ and gradual genocide.

Barbarism for a time until a strong warlord seizes the reins and offers the preyed upon a degree of stability. Then you'll likely see something resembling an autocracy that will evolve into a Monarchy after the warlords passing.

What little culture we have is centralized around individualism.

It’s going to be so much more boring then Mad Max style anarchy. When America falls, China and Europe will be there to pull the corpse back up. They don’t want a major power going to third world territory. Not when they have nukes and there is money to be made off of the land m.

ecological concerns will come before political concerns and by that I mean any and all non-whites are to be physically removed from anyplace whites exist in order to prevent their multiplying and devastating of natural resources or attempting to integrate with whites

In terms of a total SHTF scenario it depends on how much of the logistical system is gone, if the internet/electricity is gone and how little or how much power local and federal government bodies have.
In the absolute worst case scenario people are going to be living like yeomen, except worse because they don't have any of the traditional skills or knowledge to build/maintain that society. Most Amerishart houses are dogshit and will literally wilt away in a few years. People in the south are fucked because you can't live in them during the summer because they are built with AC in mind. Its much the same for people in the north too, save for the fact some of them might have fire places. It would be absolute dogshit and the only way out of it would be to totally scrap modern culture, architecture and technology and revert to medieval or early modern technology.

This also has to take into account foreign aid. There’s a high chance that another country would see America collapse and 100% rebuild it as a puppet. Restoring boring modernity even if slightly more 3rd worldish

I think its much more likely to see fragmented states and ethnic enclaves bickering and fighting with old world architecture/clothing and modern technology. Basically a Balkans scenario, which isn't pleasant. Cities will more than likely be emptied out similar to Rome because they are death traps and have zero internal manufacturing while smaller towns and rural areas do, as well as a surplus of natural resources.

Really depends on how big this SHTF scenario impacts. If it’s worldwide I agree. If it’s only country wide I 100% expect suppression of some kind. If nothing else to keep the train going and exploit all those natural resources. It would foolish for a place like China to see the land go to waste to American warlords when there’s a population, brands, resources and culture to subject

The only way modern society collapses is if its global. The inter connectedness of economy's keeps things far too stable

          >people already spend too much time on smartphones.
