>a couple of mexicans I found outside home depot and about $200 cash
how much does they make BTW? Facebook keeps showing me videos of some guy cleaning roofs with pressure washer who claims he makes $300 an hour. He lives in PNW, so there's moss everywhere.
300 dollars a hour for manual labour and a pressure washer is such a load of bullshit. You're being fed lies, 30-40/h might be feasible. Maybe even 70 if it's specialised, or he got a good contract in a super posh area.
He's selling you his tiktok/insta account and a fake story.
$300 per hour is bullshit but it's fairly common for Mexican migrants to make $30-$50 per hour if they can find a niche tradie position. To accomplish that they typically need to be self employed. To do that, they usually need capital funding. Some simply save up; others have a support network of community and family. That said, I've seen multiple Mexican families that have gone from janitors to self employed to tradies and then had their kids work as manager and then get college educations and end up in comfy upper middle or high income suburbs within 1-2 suburbs. It's not easy at all but definitely doable. I'm in SGV and this is pretty common. Armenians, Sikhs, Thais, Guats, Peruvians and Viets do this too.
those aren't a problem though once the M30A1's do their thing. erase the enemy troops, drive up to the antitank ditch and drop in some tactical logs or a culvert or toss a prefab bridge section over it, shoot out some anti-mine rope, and go right on through. total time less than 30 minutes. the US did it in gulf war 1 against much better prepared lines. we still have the equipment in inventory, i bet they could lend or lease the ukrainians some of that gear.
It's mostly just to slow any attack down and sit them in one spot long enough to give artillery a few minutes and a good concentrated location to shoot at. Obviously any kinda static entrenchment is pretty easy to overcome if it's not defended. This just slows down any AT4 humvee thunder runs.
But see, the army has thought about this long and hard.
They may be getting lots of military support, but as long as they know their enemy isn't being given construction equipment by their benefactors, they are safe in the knowledge that this line will hold!
>Those dragons teeth are moronic, with that spacing and layout tanks will just run right over them.
They really can't, the spacing is deliberate and tuned to tanks.
They didn't work in practice because they were either built wrong and could be moved with a dozer or just buried and tanks went over the top.
When built right, they're a post of steel core, concrete exterior that goes down a way and has the pyramid formed in place on the top. They're not all made that way though.
Americans in WWII knew about them and had time to prepare so they were ready with dozer tanks and went right over or through them.
Armored engineering vehicle and hit them with the dozer blade.
Meant to be overwatch with ATGM. Its why they aren't using a proper meters high berm barrier.
A more permanent way to employ these would be to put them all over (as in completely cover a highway underpass or paved built up areas. And then instead of this dig frickoff huge tank trap trench 6 meters square profile, take the dirt back pile it into elevated fortification well behind
>maybe long enough for them to call in artillery on your stalled tanks and APCs.
If they were all sunk deeply enough to require specialised equipment, maybe
Anon, do you think all of it is gonna be monitored with NVG after all the entrenched tanks all get blitzed by artillery in a week?
These can unironically be sapped at night with impunity wthout vehicles even once those t62's are killed (Easily). 4 lads and a rope, topple it sideways, do the same to the other one on the other side.
GG you have a gap a tank can get through.
Literally any engineering vehicle designed to destroy fortifications? /k/ is amazing. People tend to not know the most basic shit about military on weapons board. I blame /misc/ refugees. Its always them.
Alright, I'm an idiot, so humor me: What stops someone from just driving around this shit into the field? Mines? If so, why not just put mines down anyway?
Nothing. But if you're forced to go somewhere you're expected to go to 'bypass' then chances are there are people waiting for you. Defensive lines aren't just about pure blocking, but funnelling you into areas to be killed.
Clear out enemy observers/spotters. Clear out mines up to the line with armored bulldozers. Bury the teeth by dumping gravel onto them with dump trucks (yes it should ideally be gravel because it doesn't settle as much as regular old dirt). Shape the piles to provide a nice, gentle slope over the teeth. Repeat process at multiple locations.
You can technically skip the truck part and just bulldoze dirt from the surrounding fields, but you'll have some trouble because dirt settles a lot as you drive over it repeatedly. You'll need a wider pile so that vehicles can be staggered laterally.
Biggest threat is enemy activity and long-range fire. If you can keep those at bay, you'll be through the line in less than an hour.
Just have the armored engineering vehicle drop blade and push dirt over them. No need to try and find a dump truck full of fricking gravel sitting around in a warzone.
You can skip it initially, but if you want that muddy field crossing to stay usable, you'll have to lay down some grit eventually. Otherwise both ends of it will turn into tank traps in and of themselves.
You're essentially building a new road here (with a little elevated bit in the middle), and damp dirt does not stand up to repeated loading with heavy vehicles. It's loose so it gets displaced, forming tracks. It's compressible and settles a lot, so you get depressions. And those tracks and depressions then fill with water, which accelerates the erosion further. You don't need to take road engineering 101 to understand why without gravel it will come apart in a hurry.
Of course if your thrust through the line results in you gaining control of adjacent, proper roads, you'll use them instead. But can you be sure of success?
>My AVT could winch those out out of the way, a fricking F250 with a snow plow would smash right through that.
They're just a head on a thick steel pole that goes down.
They are not dragon teeth, dragon teeth has buried concrete gums joining them together stopping you moving them, sinking them, etc, they are fixed in place.
These putinist ones are just concrete traffic cones, drag em, push em, drive on em and sink em, blow them out the way, drive between gaps.
There was a clip of them being laid down, they aren't held in by anything they are just concrete triangles. Three or four guys could just roll them out of the way.

Would you really have to do anything manually though? I feel like the mud will just... take care of the problem for you, eventually. They look very sinkable.
this. there may even be some points that could be flooded to accelerate / control your access.
This might be a stupid question but can't they just shoot GMLRS at X points and then just drive through there?
yep, but it funnels your units as they move in and out, you want a wider breach ideally
Are you new here? >On February 25, 1991, three days before the Gulf War would be declared over, the United States engaged in what would become known as the "bulldozer assault." In order to break through the Iraqis' defensive line, the US Army mounted plows onto their tanks to drive over the trenches and bunkers. According to The Seattle Times, more than 70 miles of trenches were initially being defended by more than 8,000 Iraqi soldiers. In the end, around 2,000 soldiers surrendered, and the rest had been buried, alive and dead, under the sand.
I'd kinda love this option. The lack of US casualties is gonna look appealing to Ukr, the US would probably be happy to advise with planning and scoping, and strategically it feels like a good way to hit morale.
They can be pushed dude, like very easily. And depending on their construction and the fact that they aren’t anchored I bet you could easily turned and throw some up by shelling them.
>The whole idea is that you're under fire and can't just move them away or drive through them >60ton tank simply drives over them and pushes them to the side
My bet is this defensive line will make them extremely complacent. I wouldn't even be slightly shocked if they pulled a lot of defenders from behind this to go to less "protected" areas leaving skeleton crews behind to guard the line. Carefully and quietly move troops, armor, SAMs, and MANPADS teams into the target area. HIMARS and arty the living shit out of defenders in the area then send in armored dozers and MCLCs. Once it's clear enough to charge through do so.
How many fricking times are morons like you going to ask the same question, the fricking "trenches" are to put the fricking dragon teeth in, the snow Black folk haven't finished or won't finish the job properly, Jesus fricking christ just look at the ones that already have the fricking obstacles in them
USE YOUR FRICKING EYES
The "trenches" are literaly just dirt tracks from the lorries that placed the dragons teeth moron
The fact that they might use them later for mine placement is irrelevant

these don't look very securely placed. feel like a combat tractor could just dig them out or even the weight on an MBT tipping them over.
Also a big L to all the people who said that the JP-233 was a meme weapon because the soviets wouldn't have been moronic enough to let the anti-repair anti-bulldozer mines stop them for long. This is a good example that yes russian combat engineering is that moronic.
>>/k/ literally doesn't know what dragon's teeth are used for in 2022
Show how backward your country defense are?
I mean, sure it might still slow a modern tank for a day and channel them in some place, but in the modern era it's a lot of effort that impede your own defense more than it block offense.
the issue is execution. If these were properly anchored and placed in depth they would be useful.
If you just get some blydos in a kamaz to drop concrete pyramids on a plowed field then it's just a worse version of a minefield since a tank with a blade can just push them out the way easy. At least with AT mines the tanks have to follow the leader in a conga line like Mr Safety Car. With these they could just keep a normal formation dropping WP and HE on your AT positions while the dozerchads break through the banan line.
A B-52
Attack helos
two toyota hiluxes and some towing cables.
how big are those things? we may need three.
I didnt know russians also built pyramids for their dead

Tanks with a bundle of pipes strapped to them, a few with plows on them and a couple of de-mining vehicles leading a mechanized grouping.
the problem is not so much the barrier as it is the ATGMs and what not on the other side waiting for you to slow down and move through it
those aren't a problem though once the M30A1's do their thing. erase the enemy troops, drive up to the antitank ditch and drop in some tactical logs or a culvert or toss a prefab bridge section over it, shoot out some anti-mine rope, and go right on through. total time less than 30 minutes. the US did it in gulf war 1 against much better prepared lines. we still have the equipment in inventory, i bet they could lend or lease the ukrainians some of that gear.
Did Russia miss the part where these need to be secured /interlinked?
Because these look like you could just bulldoze them away. or are they just meant to to the chad Humvee raids
Would a pontoon bridge do?
Since the teeth aren't anchored deeply in the ground by the looks of it, you could most likely just use an earth mover to plow them over.
Which is great, because you can use the same machines to fill the trenches further up ahead. Preferably burying the vatniks alive.
Even if they're fixed in position all you need is a tank with a dozer blade to push some dirt up and bury them, then you can drive straight over.
Or at least watch the spacing? these are pretty far apart.
sure if its dialed in by arty or you have a ATGM/ javelin overwatch it might still work. but it seems so half assed
pic could get past the post
>half assed
You just described Russia in two words.
It's mostly just to slow any attack down and sit them in one spot long enough to give artillery a few minutes and a good concentrated location to shoot at. Obviously any kinda static entrenchment is pretty easy to overcome if it's not defended. This just slows down any AT4 humvee thunder runs.
Low morale
you know from above those trenches looked a bit more impressive
any type of tractor should suffice
So... Does Ukraine have any tractors?
none whatsoever
idk
is the area mined?
A cat d6m and a free weekend
But see, the army has thought about this long and hard.
They may be getting lots of military support, but as long as they know their enemy isn't being given construction equipment by their benefactors, they are safe in the knowledge that this line will hold!

>from turret tossing Olympics to trench TOS-ing Olympics
like pottery
Were we born in time to see the Killdozer storm of the Sergey Line?

ATGM
I'd use a armoured spear head to attack the line where it is the the weakest. Usually this is where the line is the most straight and undermaned.
Ehh, pontoons?
where's the video we had the other day of them putting it together?
>Drive up to it with basically any tank
>Attach tow cable
>Pull 5 meters
>Repeat with second line
>Pull 15 meters
GG
Slows down your mechanised charge across the plains though, maybe long enough for them to call in artillery on your stalled tanks and APCs.

Do the Ukrainians have those? Even if they do, the reason is to slow you down and allow pre sighted artillery and AGTM teams to rekt your shit.
THEY DIDN'T EVEN CUT THE HOOKS.
Just fricking hook it to your btr or somethins, and pull it off.
youre overestimating russian troops intelligence
Are those trenches mere inches deep...?
That's just the trucks tire marks
Ukraine mud for you.
They need eleventy billion more burger certificates to dig proper trenches to keep Vlad out!!
Those are Russian trenches bro
Really? The Ukes are advancing into Russia?
Yeah, they have been for a long time now. Or did you forget the annexation happened?
Just roll over it bro
Will Russian run out of tank and send this to the front?
Nah, Soviets melted down the old Tzar Tank for the steel back in the 50s.
No fricking way. Really?
Alright, I'm an idiot, so humor me: What stops someone from just driving around this shit into the field? Mines? If so, why not just put mines down anyway?

oh my god theres nothing under them? So just squish them into the mud and go on with your life?
Correct.
A fortification for ants?

whats this like 7 inches in the ground?
i thought they were digging a trench
why is the trench straight? If a shell lands in that trench the shrapnel will spread over a huge range, even ww1 trenches zig zaged.

Unironically carpet bombing.
>the dragon teeth are just sitting there, on top of the ground, unanchored
So this will stop the Ukrainians for like what, 5 minutes as they laugh their asses off?
A firefighting helicopter dumping gravel would be pretty original.
But I guess AA threat would not allow this?
How about foam filled artillery shells?
Yo.
Think about it.
Artillery shells full of pink hyper expandable foam?
This might be a stupid question but can't they just shoot GMLRS at X points and then just drive through there?

dynamite dynamite dynamite
A HE artllery shell.
Dragonteeth and shallow trenches without corners in year of our lord 2022 - that is not half-assed, but plain moronic.
Considering how weak and highly visible that is , it may not be the actual defense line and the real one might be hidden behind it.
