It won't, and that's probably a good sign for us. When SHTF, at least the West will still be able to get "smuggled" Chinese goods from third party countries as Russia is now. When the Chinks invade Taiwan I bet Paraguay and Algeria will magically start mass-producing barstock, toothbrushes, dishwashers, PCBs, and antibiotics overnight.

Probably Nam, we’ve been pouring a lot of money in their manufacturing.

              >Probably Nam, we’ve been pouring a lot of money in their manufacturing.
True, but most of that "manufacturing" being done in Vietnam are using lots of Chinese parts. Chinese companies have set up lots of assembly shops in Nam' and Mexico to get around the Trump-era tariffs. If you buy cabinets from Vietnam, all of the wood and hardware was made in China and the final assembly took place in Vietnam to get a lower rate. Most of the value-added chain still takes place in China. That's why I hope Trump makes good on his word to hike all imports 10%, regardless of COO.

You can never stop smuggling. All you can do is make it harder and more expensive to do.

Smuggling is vastly more expensive than regular trade
And if you haven't figured out already, Russia really needs to be cutting expenditures not increasing them

Huge Sino-Russian trade increases helps Russia more than any single weapon ever could. Russian consumers can still get new cars, furniture, luxury goods, etc, just under a Chinese label instead of a Western one.

This, Western goods being re-exported from roachistan and China to Russia is helping them maintain weapons production.

Yeah, sure, this is perfectly helping, and when thie biggest country in the world, with the biggest reserve in freshwater, agrarian soils, raw materials and a barely functional post soviet klebtocracy of 140- millions finishes to demilitariz itself... Uncle Xi will totally not apply the economic enslavement then annexation of Siberia.

I totally get it, and changs probably shilled the vatniks into believing this a long time ago.

It's because Russia threatens the current international order. This reasoning is completely justifiable in my mind, we haven't had any hot great power/European wars and have seen massive global development since the end of WWII.
