Before the nukes >I'm just an ordinary man, but I'm a japanese man, so I have the birthright to rape and kill women and children.
After the nukes >I'm just an ordinary man, a pacifist, I never hurted anyone, I love every living creature, and you, you americans nuked poor people like me not once but twice! For now on it will be YOUR fault if my people will be all pedos and wirdos, YOUR fault if our politicians will be corrupted and complicit with mobster! YOUR FAULT FOR EVERYTHING!
Yes. Imagine if we just went full ACW and gave every Sergeant+ NCO an 1840 sword plus the M1 Garand and M1 bayonet, every Lieutenant+Officer a 1902 sword plus M1 carbine, M4 bayonet and M1911 pistol.
Oh and the cavalry scout units all get cavalry sabers and M1 carbines with M4 bayonets. All officers wear sashes under their pistol belts, and so forth.
To free the people of China from the oppressive and corrupt rule of Chiang Kai Shek.
The IJA brought indoor plumbing and electricity to the rest of Asia, the KMT brought street-shitting and jaywalking to Taiwan. The only chad thing they did was managing to kill more Chinamen than the Japs without even trying.
His autism was too high. He could ally with the KMT (which was literally AXIS), crush the commie scum and engage with other affairs. He thought he could beat a power 20 or 30 years ahead, single-handlely, while trying to control lots of angry rice-farmers.
He really didn't read his countryman Sun Tzu.
>He could ally with the KMT
He tried but the KMT absolutely refused. Plus, you are forgetting that the KMT was originally a socialist movement, they only starting larping as nationalist after losing to Mao's communist. >single-handlely [sic]
No, he didn't which is why he talked Hitler into also declaring war on the USA. Even then he didn't think Japan could "beat" the USA, just force them into negotiations to get a settled peace.
>Emperor and his advisors are concerned about the army becoming fanatical and going out of control >Fumimaro was supposed to bring control back to the civilian government, but escalates the war in China instead, catering to extremist wings in the military >Tojo is recommended as his successor, for he is for the time being against the idea of attacking the US (only because he thought the US was unbeatable), and has connections in the army - He might keep the army under control and descalate the situation >Tojo attempts to calm his subordinates down and negotiate with the Americans >The army hated the sudden change of policy, and all negotiations with America failed. >Feeling pressured, Tojo requested the Emperor that America must be attacked, claiming/warning that the extremists in the army will coup if they don't >So the Emperor reluctantly gave in to his persuasions and gave permission to attack the Pearl Harbor
Arguably he was responsible for the Pacific War, but I feel bad for him.
If the war criminal FDR hadn't placed all those sanctions on Japan then Tojo could have kept the Army and Navy in check. Once those sanctions were declared the civilian govt lost all power and influence.

cope. The war in China escalated BEFORE all the sanctions. Not to mention the 2.26 incident or Mukden incident or Kyujo incident.
This "Japan was forced into the war" meme is from historically illiterate retards and braindead pan Asian ultranationalists.

It's legitimately sad reading about people at the outbreak of a war sometimes. With Japan it felt a lot like the Great War where a lot of people worked really hard to stop it escalating into conflict but just got crushed in the gears of history.
Crazy how in an alternate timeline it would have been Germany that was nuked not Japan because Britain and Canada (who were developing nuclear weapons in 1939 and did the overwhelming majority of the research) didn't have any long range bombers in the far east
We were a cunt hair away from muttland having 200 nuclear weapons pointed at it in Canada and zero trans pride flags........ oh what could have been
moron what the fuck are you talking about. The Manhattan Project had dozens of innovations and the only people close outside the US were receiving info from moles in the US. Absolute retard
According to General Leslie Grove's book, the only real contribution the British gave was the design work on gaseous diffusion.
Meanwhile Laurence got most of the isotopes used in production from electromagnetic separation.
Oh, and the Brits fed info to french scientist something Curie, who was in occupied france at the time.
To secure Japan's future as a superpower. Unfortunately, he couldn't into diplomacy and made lots of ultimately unnecessary enemies, within and without.

Even the moderate half of the military admitted that militarism had gone too far
Japan was truly past saving at that point
>"Fuck the navy!"

>Harakiri? Nah, I'll shoot myself in the middle of the chest with .32 ACP
Kek, he even had a doctor mark the location to shoot himself
>"I'm very sorry that it is taking me so long to die,"
he told them
