the water in East Palestine is genuinely fine, and likely to be exceptionally well monitored for the foreseeable future because of the derailment - there just wasn't enough material released to matter to anything but fish, who will die in the thousands if you look at them funny and aren't swimming in the water you drink unless you really want dysentery

You know what the difference between Flint and the third world was? When Flint had its crisis, the government spent $400m replacing 28,000 pipes to fix it, and by 2021 it was indeed fixed. People say "why did it take so long" not understanding they were trying to do it right so they wouldn't have to do it a second time. The third world by comparison, tapers over the problem and it isn't contained to one area.

                Anonymous

Another view point. Flint was run by Black folk and ran into the ground by Black folk. It cost so much and took so long because Black folk were doing the administrative work too. So even in the cherry picked bad example it’s due to third worlders running their own area in a white country.

No one on Russia's side is on Russia's side. All of those shithole countries are only in it for themselves, and whatever "alliances" they form are purely out of self-interest, which in this case means weakening the west, who they all see as their primary enemy.
I mean, these countries have no common ground, whether it's race, ideology or religion. It's purely based on anti-western sentiments, and if the west was ever removed from the picture, they would immediately start infighting. Or rather, China would just make the other shithole countries its b***hes.

Cooperation between Un and Europe what does that even mean?

          Anonymous

The Council of Europe does not have anything to do with the EU (in fact it's even older than the EU as it was founded in 1949), it's completely independent of it (although it decided to use the EU flag as well). It's like a Mini-UN inside of Europe that previously all European states except Belarus were part of.
However Russia left after invading Ukraine last year.

One condition for membership is to get rid of (or at least freeze) the death penalty. Which is why Belarus was never a member and likely part of why Russia left. Of course because of that the Council of Europe has been pretty much unanimously been against Russia in this conflict. So voting for more cooperation between the UN and the CoE is by extend a condemnation of Russia.

Part of the reason the EU is even a thing was because members of the CoE said "I will make my own Council, with blackjack and hookers" as they wanted more cooperation between their countries that the Council of Europe didn't provide as that one is pretty much JUST a forum.

BRICS is basically just an economic thing to try and create vassal states to China after they built all that shit in Africa and then a bunch of the African leaders turn around and said "how about no, what're you gonna do about it?" when China asked for those ports and factories they were promised.

That is because China want to be "more" aligned with the West now after their ambassador fricked up in France. China's biggest dream so to be the one that holds the peace-talk and them to be in the middle once the Ukraine and Russia sign the peace-treaty in Bejing or whatver chink city that will be choosen. They now that they have to play their card rightfully to come across as a nation that can serve both Ukraine and Russia as a respectable negotiator. Right now they don't, as they come across more Russia friendly so they're trying to build a bridge as they now that is the only and easiest way for them to gain global prestige as a power house.

Look at how they did with Iran and Saudi, they even want to come up with a peace-plan for Israel-Palestine conflict as well.

If you're dumb enough to think that Iran is going to sell out the Russia-sized life vest keeping it afloat, you're the moronic one. Helping Ukraine would give them pocket change and ruin their relationship with one of their key allies.

          Anonymous

I think you're underestimating the leverage Tehran has over Russia. If Russia decides selling Ukraine 122mm shells "ruins their relationship" they can say goodbye to Shasneed cope drones.

            Anonymous

Cope drones are a pittance compared to getting fricked in the UNSC and the JCPOA, not to mention complicating relationships in the ME and Africa where Russia has investments.
I doubt selling those shells to Ukraine would even make Iran much money. They're already being sold to Russia. Selling to Ukraine would do nothing but ruin a long-term relationship. Europe isn't going to tilt to Iran based on a few shells. Would be a dumb investment.

Pakistan is known. Ukraine using a handful of 122mm from Iran isn't evidence Iran is sending it to them, and there's every reason to think they wouldn't. It's either bought from a 3rd party, or confiscated during smuggling.

    >How?
How bad is the corruption in Russia's military?
An officer in the Russian Armed Forces was recently arrested for allegedly stealing engines from Moscow’s T-90 main battle tanks and selling them for profit on the black market. Colonel Alexander Denisov
Colonel Alexander Denisov has been accused of stealing seven V-92S2 engines meant for Russia’s T-90 tank stocks according to the Russian newspaper, The Kommersant. Active throughout the war
The Telegraph’s James Kilner picked up the story and translated the details into English, noting that Colonel Denisov was selling the engines between November 2021 and April 2022. The cost of a V-92S2 engine
Each engine is worth around $200,000 dollars according to Kilner, which would mean Colonel Denisov could have made upwards of $1.4 million if he sold all seven he allegedly stole. In charge of "technical tank support"
Kilner noted that the colonel was the commander in charge of “technical tank support” in Russia’s Southern Military District, which explains how Denisov got access to the engines.Arrested in March
Denisov was arrested in March at Rostov and was later charged with “stealing parts intended to be installed on tanks” according to a translation from The Telegraph. This latest news of systemic corruption in the Russian military comes after more than a year of reports showing how bad things have been in Russia’s stockyards and warehouses.

This is the difference in corruption in shitholes like Russia and China vs the west. The western MIC might overcharge you, might ask for way more funding than they need, but at the end of the day you get a working vehicle made to the specs desired

Well, except for the Starfighter scandal back in the day, but Lockheed barely survived the fallout from that, it's not like they got away with it.

Ok yeah good point. But if then it was bribing the government to contract with Lockheed to buy their planes. The F104 was mostly fine wasn’t it? It had issues but that’s also partly from planes evolving and teething issues. It wasn’t like they didn’t fulfill the terms of the contracts and didn’t provide working planes.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s fricked up and causes lots of issues. Look at big pharma and opioids and SSRIs for the damage that behavior can cause. But it’s a far cry from straight up stealing equipment and selling it and reporting everything is fine
