    >What motivated you to enlist in the military?
I almost did but I realized that I would probably be to tough for the drill instructors, so I walked away

Unironically Top Gun. But the Navy recruiter was out that day, and the Marine recruiter came running out of his office. Ended up in the Air Wing.

Before I went to boot camp I thought my recruiter's uniform looked awesome. I went on recruiter assistance while I waited for a training slot at my tech school and realized he was a complete bag of ass.

No money for college, parents wanted me to move out at 18. At the time I wanted to be a cop so I enlisted as a 31B (LOL). My biggest regret was choosing that MOS but I did green to gold and got the MI Branch so I'm happy with my life and job now.

      >parents wanted me to move out at 18
Why is it that only American families do this?

It made sense when it became a thing in the United States. An adult in the greatest economy in the history of the world could reasonably move out at 18, get a job, and buy a home in their 20s with plenty of life experience and minimal burden on their family. It's just not the case here anymore, so we will return to norm over time.

I was in a really, really bad part of my life and my recruiter was able to get me in the Reserves and back home to finish university.
    >like being a solder (inb4 weekend warrior)
    >hate the Army
BCT/AIT and our FTX are some of the most least stressful times of my life due to how insulated your problems are and how much control you can resolve it. And if someone's trying to blue falcon you? You can easily BF them back for trying.

Money and the chance to kill people of a different color just like 90% of army infantry. Sadly I didn't get to do too much of the latter. Got a shitload of the former though. Crazy how much money you make/save if you don't get a girl pregnant or buy a car. People used to use the excuse that they don't want to die for ze israelitez and yah I get it, but it's like homie there is no war right now with a low as frick chance there ever will be in the time you serve. Pretty much the perfect time if all you want is gay stuff.

If you're not a poorgay you can get plenty of fun with guns on your own, same with travel and comparative jobs pay much better outside the army where you can actually leave if they frick you over or make your work miserable enough with dumb bullshit.
Pretty much all the benefits assume you are starting out as an extreme poorgay with no prospects and no drive to do something about it on your own beyond hoping the army will solve it.
Currently the job market is great so even many poorgays have options.

recruit here, waiting one one minor waiver at MEPs and then I'm shipping out. I qualified for nuke but I'm going aircrewman for this exact reason u said. Is it easy to crossrate as a nuke considering how much money big navy throws at you?

      also,
      joining because,
      >i dont like arabs
      >i want to travel on the governments dime
